The actual issue would have been easy to see and diagnose especally during the intital repair but instead the shop owner wanted to charge another labor cost to tear it apart and fix what they (conveniently) missed the 1st time. It seems this shop is in the business of ripping off old people and not even trying to cut labor cost for something obvious they missed the 1st time. I would NOT recomend taking your car here even if it was the last repair shop in Texas.

I took the car back twice that same day after the alignment was "completed" because the car was swaying/swerving left to right. The first time he blamed the road, the second time he blamed my shocks and said the alignment was good. I been driving to and from work for 3 weeks assuming the alignment was done correctly. I took it to another alignment shop and was told my trailing arm bushings were bad (which explains the swaying) and that pro align should have caught it because you can't do a proper alignment with bad bushings. When i took my car back he said he doesn't warranty lowered vehicles and said its written all over the walls in his business. When I noticed it wasnt written anywhere I tried to take a picture of the papers, which he stepped in front of and told me I couldn't take pictures in his business. He told me I could take him to court, that people have taken him before and he's always won. He put my car on his rack to check alignment for his records (for court, which I allowed) and he apologized saying he should have caught that my camber and toe was way off the first time, but said because the rubber in the bushings are still there the bushings are good (rubber can still be there but worn, so thays incorrect). Even after admitting he didnt catch my camber being off, he refused to get me two new tires. He did however refund my alignment fee. Still not happy , im out two tires. Sorry long rant but hopefully you wont go here and lose out like I did. The tires weren't just slightly worn (if they were I wouldnt make a big deal, we are all human and make mistakes) they were completely worn on the inside approximately one inch on both rear tires, to the point they're unsafe to drive on now. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Tire Damage and Service Dispute After the first service was…read morecompleted and I returned to collect my truck, I was informed that one of the tires had two noticeable gashes. I was told that replacing the damaged tire would cost me more than $300, which essentially negated the savings from the complimentary service. I questioned the service manager about how he could be certain that the tire damage did not occur while the truck was still being used as a demonstrator, or perhaps during transportation, offloading, or while being moved on or off the service rack by a technician. There are numerous possibilities for when the damage could have happened prior to my purchase. However, the service manager could not provide any evidence to support his claim and that I was responsible for the damage. Despite this, he assured me that the gash was my responsibility and that I would have to pay for the replacement tire. When I again asked if it was possible the damage happened before I took delivery of the truck, he admitted he could not prove otherwise but insisted that I was still responsible for the replacement. Lack of Support and Final Decision Since I purchased the truck, it has seen minimal use and has never left paved roads. Given this, I am unable to determine how the tire could have been damaged during my ownership. Nevertheless, Hall's Chevrolet refused to warrant the tire or absorb any part of the replacement cost. As a result of this experience, I have decided that this will be both my first and LAST purchase or service visit at Hall's Chevrolet in Canton, Texas. Money over customer satisfaction here The lack of accountability and unwillingness to address customer concerns was disappointing, especially considering the reputation I expected from a dealership like Hall's Chevrolet. I believe that customer service should extend beyond simply performing routine maintenance and should include standing behind both the vehicles and the work provided. This situation has left me feeling undervalued as a customer, and I sincerely hope that others will be cautious when considering their own purchase or service decisions at this location.

0 Stars I originally called because the used vehicle I…read morepurchased had some exhaust leaks and I needed them welded up in order for it to pass inspection. He agreed that he could do it for a reasonable price so I took it there and he got to welding. He wasn't able to weld all of the leaks, and the few that he did get fell apart. I drove directly from the shop to an inspection station and the leaks were worse and I failed. In addition to the exhaust leaks, the inspection station notified me that a previous owner had removed the catalytic converter so I needed to replace that as well. I purchased a new one and brought it into Hometown Automotive to have it welded in. At any exhaust shop, this should cost $100 Max. When I picked up the vehicle, he charged me $300 to weld in a catalytic converter. Keep in mind that I provided the part. I paid the bill and I didn't even make it home before the welds on the catalytic converter failed and the exhaust broke apart on the back side of the catalytic converter. I finally took a look underneath and the welds were terrible. There were actually more leaks now. I was able to slide the exhaust pipe back into the back half of the catalytic converter and use the metal wire to hold it into place so I could take it somewhere else to have it all redone again. On my way to have the work redone, the front welds on the catalytic converter failed and the exhaust fell off again. I limped it all the way to the shop and had them remove the catalytic converter and replace all of the piping, reweld in the catalytic converter, and I had a performance muffler with a stainless tip' installed for $268. Thats fairly standard industry pricing for parts and labor. When I asked the technicaian at the new shop what happened, he said the wrong type of welder was used, and the welds were bad. When I called back to hometown automotive and explain the situation, he agreed to give me a partial refund (This was October 19th, 2022). It has been more than 2 months, and not a penny has been returned. I honestly would have respected him more if he just told me that he could not weld in my catalytic converter, versus ripping me off for triple the amount any other shop would have charged me, doing incredibly shoddy work, then agreeing to refund me and then not keeping their word. That's what gets me the most, not keeping their word. How very disappointing for a new small business to treat their new customer in this manner. Shame. Response from the owner on Google via direct message: "You failed to mention that your exhaust had been welded multiple times and had cracks and jagged welds all down the exhaust. The first time you were trying to "patch up because you needed an inspection"Or the fact there was 3 different size pipes on the vehicle. And that you also had the entire exhaust replaced So they were no having to do a patch job. Thanks" There was two sizes of pipe. The original pipe, and the pipe used in place of the missing catalytic converter. When putting the new one it, that pipe would have been removed. The lack of professionalism and integrity should be weighted heavily. Even my review on Google has been paid to be blocked. Purely Dishonest.
