As someone in the trade mostly public works I would expect some degree of courtesy and respect for the knowledge I have obtained through the years of my construction project management experience. Always have two or three people bidding on the job at the same time. Having invited five professional plumbers to my house in order to do a take off and submit a proposal to me for the entire plumbing of my garage conversion. I tried to speak to someone and get them to sharped their numbers but the attitude was not acceptable for respectable businessmen. Not only was their communication poor, I found their price to be almost outrageous. You have competitive pricing and luckily we have received more complete bids with less than half the cost. I chose to go with a with licensed C-36 that's been in the business for 30+ years & 15 year guarantee. Word of the wise, invite several trades to your project at the same time. Get these guys to bid more competitively and hold them accountable for price gouging. I'm giving two stars only because I actually received a bid. Not complete or detailed mind you. Found JC Plumbing on Yelp - so glad they were available to help and were located nearby! My daughter's house in Simi Valley somehow developed some type of shower-related water leak. We needed someone good to get here quickly and find the source of the leak. We called JC Plumbing based on their great Yelp reviews - Julio called back immediately and said they could be out within the hour. They kept their promise: Julio & Cesar arrived on time and explained their method and cost. We agreed, they proceeded (removing some Sheetrock, filling the shower pan with water, watching for source) and they determined that the shower pan construction ("hot mop") had failed. Although JC doesn't reconstruct hot mop shower pans, they gave us exactly what we needed today: great service, quick response, methodical work and the definitive source of the problem. We now know what to do for our next step. By the way, another plumbing company that we contacted (before calling JC) said that their first move would be breaking up the concrete slab to discover the leak. We all agreed a replacement is the best move. JC did not charge me for the first visit, I purchased a toilet and had it delivered. They had come highly recommended by my handyman, responded quickly to my request to come out and take a look at a drain on top of a flat part of my roof that wasn't draining properly. Cesar quickly diagnosed the problem -- a clogged filter at the bottom where the pipe drained on the side of the house. Since it was a simple fix (at least simple for him!), he didn't even charge me and told me how to fix it if it happens in the future. I had another plumber come in twice, because there was a leak through the wooden floor from the toilet. It leaked for about a year, and couldn't figure out why it was still leaking. I ended up calling JC Plumbing. He was able to come in soon enough, and after checking under for various potential damage, he knew right away that I had to get a new toilet installed. He also recommended that I should replace parts of the wooden floor due to future possible molds and warping. He even offered to pick up the new toilet from Home Depot and bring it in himself. I used the Yelp business locator app to find a company that could help me replace my washer's drain pipe, since the one I had was incompatible with my high efficiency washer. Out of all the companies that responded to my request, Julio (JC Plumbing Owner) was the fastest to respond and was the most reasonably priced. I also liked that he offered to send someone in-person to see what I needed to get done, so that I could get a more accurate quote; he did not charge me to come out, like some other plumbing companies do. I also liked that when Cesar and Peter arrived on behalf of JC Plumbing, they never tried to pressure or upsell me. Once I agreed to their service, they went and purchased the parts they would need to use for the job, replaced my old washer drain pipe, and left the area nice and clean. Very happy with the service we received from this company. Initial phone call was pleasant and Cesar was very transparent with the types of cost we were looking at before he came over. After hearing the description he was able to give me a range of what we were looking at as far as cost. Another positive...we called at the end of day on a Friday and they were able to schedule us in for Saturday morning with a time range of 9-10am. They came out to check out my leaky toilet which I thought had a broken wax seal, he came out and said that it might have been a single incident but that otherwise toilet was in good working order but gave me the option of changing the wax seal just in case. Julio came out to save us on a Saturday afternoon when nobody else could send us help. It was a minor leak and he handled it quickly and got us able to use the sinks again before dinner. On a different day, he came out to replace the old water valve from the street to our home, which was leaking after 35 years of use. He replaced the leaking valve and helped us by putting in a pressure regulator to handle the overpressure which caused the leak to start.
