Buyer Beware as this person will attempt to take shortcuts resulting in poor quality of dry wall repair. After I called it out, and several back and forth communications on what was agreed upon he finally did come back to correct the work to my liking. Unfortunately, several weeks later, I found a parting gift. Some sort of construction material which looks like corroded dry wall stuffed down my brand new toilet! He and his associate were the last people on my property. They claimed to not know what this is or knowledge of this being left behind. Its hit or miss with these types of service providers. I wish you a better experience than I had. Good luck. read more

I needed a handyman really fast. My tenant basically broke the disposal and I wasn't sure if it needed replacing or not. I contacted JC and he said he would go the next day and take a look at it. We agreed on a price in case it needed to be replaced but he was able to unjam it. He showed the tenant how to unjam it and gave him a wrench. It ended up costing me a lot less and it didn't need to be replaced. I really appreciate JC's honesty because not everyone is like that. read more

Great experience w/ JC. He installed a water filter faucet + filter for us. Very fast, attentive and quality work. Best of all, I messed up and had the faucet handle oriented the wrong way. I called JC abt 20 minutes after he left and he immediately came back to adjust. He didn't have to do it, since I had already signed off, and certainly not immediately, but he did anyways. Amazing service and he will be my handyman going forward! read more

This handyman was the true boss. He gave me a very fair quote and removed an old satellite from my balcony. JC Handyman Services was fast, fair price, and very professional. I am very grateful I found him! I highly recommend. Side note: He does call you boss but it's his thing. Maybe people get offended but I felt like a true boss once he was done. read more

JC said he was going to be at my home to take a "look at the project" that I already sent him pictures to. I have no idea why you would come unprepared to do a couple hour job and not be ready to complete the work. He showed up doesn't come to the door calls once and text once saying I am only going to wait 5 minutes. I didn't have my phone on me for that 5 minutes. When i responded 7 1/2 minutes later JC said " sorry I already left and I cant come back" When I asked about the next day which is Friday he said he was busy and busy all next week. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT CALL OR USE THIS JC PERSON. read more

This person is too busy to do anything for me, I know this because he messaged me and told me.

Job: Simple removal of a window AC unit which was professionally installed . 4/5 bolts to remove. Didn't ask for disposal , help moving it , just take it out. I received a quote from this guy . I told him my name twice plus it's in my profile -duh! I got an email quote addressed to me as "Boss" with the quote of $80. ok so I asked "for that price if he can guarantee not breaking any stucco as the original installer was super careful not to leave permanent damage" . Then i received a better quote from someone who was professional, called me by my name & promised to do the job and show up on time for almost half the cost. I replied back that I received a better quote and thanked him for his time . I received another email from him calling me "Boss" again and the price went up when I asked if he could do it without breaking the stucco!!! Now the price increased to "$80 AND UP " . Never hire any contractor or handyman who won't commit to the price. No thanks ! . The job went to someone who was professional & respectful. JC whatever : You are still NOT listening! I based my decision on your unprofessionalism and the fact you couldn't give me a solid quote with the photos provided and I felt like this was going to be a bait & switch . I'd NEVER hire a handy man or contractor who keeps changing their price! read more

I encountered somebody from this business in public venue, He was loud and shooting his mouth off an Orange about political type stuff. This man was driving JC handyman's employee truck. JC was a very nice man and I think he went out of his way to make an attempt to help me. He diagnosed that my fixture was not working and that he could not fix the problem. I tested the fixture immediately after he left my house and the fixture worked. There was nothing wrong with the fixture. I will be hiring a Certified Professional Electrician to diagnose and repair the problem. $$$$ But I appreciate and highly respect JC's honesty and his personal awareness of his own limitations. Any other handyman would have quoted some outrageous price and torn up my home. In today's world that is impossible to find! read more

I am so grateful that I found JC through reading others' reviews! I'm not someone who writes a lot of reviews myself, but I think it's really important to do when someone gives exceptional service. JC has been out to my place twice now. He responded to all of my messages right away. He was punctual with a positive attitude and friendly demeanor. He followed Covid guidelines the entire time, so I always felt safe and comfortable. Very professional! He hung up some curtain rods and a print in my bedroom, fixed the front screen door that wasn't closing properly, repaired the bottom of my kitchen cabinet and the drywall under the sink, and installed a waste pullout system unit. I couldn't be happier with the results! His prices are very reasonable and his work is excellent! I plan on doing two more projects with him. I highly recommend that you use his services too. Thank you JC! read more

Dave's the man. Called he set up a time and followed thru on time and called before he came. Others usually don't call you back or worse don't ( never) show up to do the work and if so not that great or even clean up afterwords. I called him over to repair a door whose hinges had ripped out of the door frame. I also asked him to repair a crawl space cover under my house. He actually repaired the door frame and also created a custom cover for the crawl space in under two hours, and at a cheap price. Was polite and very focused on getting the job done. After he finished the job, he made recommendations on other small things that could be addressed down the line. Before leaving, he found a vent under my house that had been damaged--he repaired that free of charge. I have since hired him on to do other things, including repairing my fence. I recommend him. read more

JC handyman was late for the estimate. Once he arrived he gave what I believe was a high estimate for patching and repainting a popcorn ceiling. I got a good job done elsewhere for $300 less. I called JC because I needed a door frame repaired. I sent him a message and he responded right away. I sent him pics and he gave me a fair price to fix. I then gave him a date but was busy that day so we decided on another day. The day came and he was right on time 9:30am. He then looked at the situation and went to work. He had all his tools ready to go and started the job. He left to pick up a few things at the hardware store and came back in a jiffy. Since it was a door frame he needed molding and other pieces that he didn't have. After about a few hours he was able to fix the door frame as well as install new door knobs. He left it looking as if nothing had happened. Would definitely recommend JC. He's a craftsmen and is dedicated to his work. I will be calling him again for sure! read more

Yelp, DO NOT remove my review or place my review in the "Reviews that are not Recommended" Section. This review is honestly based on my experience in hiring this "handyman". I am legit, and have been a Yelp member for almost 10 years. I also own a business and am on the other end of yelp reviews as well. If you place my reviews in the other section or remove my reviews, I will be canceling my Yelp account and steering my network of people away from using Yelp. I know what I know, and its honest. Move along, move along... This is not the handyman you are looking for. Stay far away from this guy. In a word, DISHONEST. In another word, Unreliable. I could not recommend hiring JC Handyman for any of your handyman needs. I hired JC to install a wall bed in one of my bedrooms. He quoted me a price over the phone before arriving, so I agreed to hire him. Once he got here and looked at the job, he raised his price quote. Then, after reading through the manual, he raised his quote once again. Then, after an hour or so, he told me that he could not finish the job that day and that he would need to come back with an additional person the following morning to help assemble and install the wall bed. The next morning, I get a text from JC stating that he could not complete the job because he has "shoulder pain" and " maybe next time, Boss". Pure definition of incompetence and poor business ethics. I cannot, in good faith, recommend this guy for any services based on my experience with hiring him. After receiving his text, I told him that this is not how business should be done and asked him where his integrity and honor was. I also informed him that I would be giving him a negative, 1-star review on Yelp. At that point, he texted me back couple other times stating that he has a right to refuse business to me. I subsequently blocked his phone number so as not to receive any more text messages from him. At that point, It was harassment in my eyes. If HONESTY is something you value when doing business, then look elsewhere. JC Handyman is not the answer. If JC would have just been honest with me from the start, it would have solved everything and he probably would not have bailed on the job after an hour because I never would have hired him in the first place. Save yourself the time, headache, stress, and harassment and go with a different handyman. You'll thank me for it. Update on Friday, May 20th: We hired Jon D. of Quality Property Services in Norwalk. He arrived on time, worked efficiently, and was able to assemble and install the wall bed without any issue whatsoever. It took him and his son 4 hours total to complete the job. The price was also less than what JC quoted me. You can check my profile for pictures of the completed wall bed installation. Thanks Jon! read more

I manage properties in LA and Orange county and hired JC to paint a rental home almost 2 years ago- we have been using him ever since. He is very honest and reasonable. He can do many things from broken doors, windows, painting, small plumbing issues, lights, keys, etc. He will let you know if he cannot do something unlike other dishonest handymen. Someone like this is very important to have when you have many rentals and tenants that need minor stuff taken care of ASAP and you don't want to spend a fortune. He shows up when he says he will, does the work correctly and lets you know as soon as he is done. The tenants also LOVE him! I highly recommend JC. We've had a broken built-in mailbox flap that we've disregarded for a couple weeks. However, with heavy rainstorm approaching, we needed it repaired right away. The challenge is that it's an old house and those flaps aren't made anymore. JC Handyman responded to our inquiry on a Sunday night and was there bright and early on Monday morning. He fixed it nicely and gave us a fair estimate. We are very happy with his services and will add him to our speed-dial for any other projects that may come up. Thanks so much! read more

Paid this guy $60.00 bucks to put on a Hinge on my bathroom door. Went outside to talk on the phone. He comes out tell me the job is done and charges $60. When I came upstairs to inspect the job I found that he had shaved part of my door off and left it looking like a giant eyesore. I will never use this guy again because of what I am forced to see now. Furthermore if the door needed to be shaved to actually be close after replacing the hinge I would think that one would put the door as it was when you found it. Before he came my door was hole and looking like a door with no shaved eyesore. Now I have to look at that and I also know that I have to replace that door when I'm ready to rent out this home. read more

Very disappointed in work ethic. He promised to complete work within 2 days then showed up with no tools and could only work 3 hours. He is prompt but need to work on pricing and solution viability. He did provided the tip for other work but that was dangerous as per my realtor she just stopped by ..as it impacts the structure of the building. Please only provide the suggestion if that keeps the building safe not just the work to be done. JC: It is expensive for the work. Not even 10 min job only labor. I didn't had the spanner. For the other work I clearly mentioned the work and details . You provided the solution which is not safe for house. Thanks. Please do not advice if that concerns safety of the house. read more

Wow--fast, good work from an ethical guy. I tried a few handyman (persons of handy?) and they either weren't able to do the work or they couldn't get to it for 2 weeks. JC replied to my message within a few hours, came as soon as I said it was convenient. He communicated clearly what needed to be done, and some challenges that might make his estimate grow (and by how much). He estimated my jobs one by one, and let me pick and choose. JC actually charged me less than the estimate! After he finished the work, we had a wonderful conversation and I found him to be a very nice guy. An excellent handyman and a nice person.
