All of them determined there is a huge leak in my evap coil, and I would need to get an entire new system for thousands of dollars. A/C Doctors was the only one to realise there was something else amiss, and to take the time and properly diagnose the issue. Turns out it was a plugged up valve. They fixed the valve for a fraction of the price of the other companies, and now my A/C is running ice cold. If you need help with your A/C but don't know who to call, this is it, this is the company you are looking for. Knowledgeable, communicative, no nonsense service. 4 other companies got it wrong. Miguel from Elite Electric & A/C was stellar! Our experience with him was tremendous. He was competent, articulate and empathetic with our plight. His technical expertise got us moving things forward. We can't say enough about this experience. Also, some other A/C contractors we called CLAIMED to be "open 24 hours", but we later discovered that they merely had answering services available--but NOT actual techs to dispatch for late evening! After calling four different vendors, Elite was the real deal with techs on staff 24/7 and very quick response time. While retail often s teams about the importance of "location, location, location," wholesale distribution to the trades is definitely more specialized and they are not reliant on people coming in to browse and perhaps impulse buy. This location of Johnstone Supply also allows HVAC contractors to get the parts they need without traveling to a bigger city like West Palm Beach to get the equipment they need to "keep Florida cool." The staff here were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The parking lot is a bit small and while I was there a tractor trailer was blocking the entrance on the one side. No, big deal, I just pulled in the other entrance. If you are an HVAC professional, this Johnstone Supply is a great option. Again, with them being located in Fort Pierce and you are doing a job here or in one of the towns closer by, this location can save you a trip to West Palm Beach (which would save you about an hour each way in travel). A few weeks after every service visit, something breaks. Every time. It's thousands and thousands of dollars to get it fixed. I mentioned this to them and they became aggressively defensive. They're quick to answer, quick to charge my credit card but very slow to repair. I should have been checking their reviews. It sounds like this isn't uncommon. I'm on day 4 of no AC waiting for a $1500 compressor that's under warrantee. I'll be finding a different company now.
