My first step when hiring a company for a major project is always to read reviews. We received quotes from two different companies, and when this company came out, the representative explained that they have been serving Port St. Lucie for a long time and that the business is still independently owned rather than being sold to a larger corporation. That's something I really appreciate because it's becoming harder and harder to find locally owned companies these days. The only frustrating part of the process was getting an updated quote. We had waited too long, and the original estimate had expired. My husband called the office several times, and each time they had to take down all of his information again because it apparently had never been entered into the system. That seemed a bit unusual, as I would expect everyone to have access to the same customer information. After discussing our options with the salesman, we decided to move forward. The installation was scheduled just a few days later. We had both the inside and outside units replaced. The crew arrived around 9:00 a.m. and finished shortly after 2:00 p.m. One of the heater components that was delivered was incorrect, but we were informed that the technician would return with the correct part. The installers were friendly, professional, and seemed very knowledgeable. I chatted with them a few times throughout the day, and they worked efficiently to get everything completed. The installation also included a new thermostat, with the cost. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our electric bill will drop significantly. Our old system seemed to run nonstop, and I'm hoping this new, more efficient unit will make a noticeable difference. With the energy savings, I'm optimistic that the investment will pay for itself within a few years. read more

Our A/C stopped cooling. Was making awful sounds outside, no cool air inside. I had 4 other companies come by to diagnose the problem and give me quotes. All of them determined there is a huge leak in my evap coil, and I would need to get an entire new system for thousands of dollars. A/C Doctors was the only one to realise there was something else amiss, and to take the time and properly diagnose the issue. Turns out it was a plugged up valve. They fixed the valve for a fraction of the price of the other companies, and now my A/C is running ice cold. If you need help with your A/C but don't know who to call, this is it, this is the company you are looking for. Knowledgeable, communicative, no nonsense service. 4 other companies got it wrong. A/C Doctors got it right. read more

So this will be a strange review. We have not used this Co. we just had our current a/c company leave after doing our last service call. Last yr they talked us into a blue light for a/c this guy came today recommended we get an additional one, mind you its expensive. They act more like used car salesmen, when we declined it he kept pushing it. So I liked the reviews of this Co. my husband just called and booked with Rachel who explained all our questions and was pleasant read more

We called at lunchtime requesting an appointment because our heat wasn't turning on and with the cold snap coming, wanted to get it looked at. AC Doctors were amazing installing our new unit almost 2 years ago so we knew who to call. They confirmed an appt for today, between 1-4pm. Nicest guy came to our home and worked his magic and got it working within 30 minutes. I didn't catch his name but he was so nice and efficient too..and loved our Goldendoodles that thought he was here just for them! Thank you so much! Best AC company ever! read more

HVAC What a wonderful experience speaking with David at AC Doctors. I have been having issues with cooling a new construction home and after sending a request for an appointment (via Yelp naturally) David initially emailed me for more info. After a few rounds of email, he called me the following morning and we talked through the problem. within minutes, he was able to correctly understand the problem, offer me some easy low-cost solutions first, and then other pricier options, should I wish to go there. Out of pocket cost: $ 0 His assumption seemed to be correct, and I can do some self-help changes to thermostat and remote sensors that should fix the problem. There was no hard sales pressure, just an a honest assessment of the situation and a gratis recommendation. I haven't seen that kind of customer service in years, and it was extremely generous on his part to work it out over the phone instead of charging for a service call. BTW: he is a super pleasant guy to speak with and I will recommend him to anyone looking for his services. read more

Service was fast and an easy fix. We were out of town and while we didn't feel what the cost would be was clearly communicated, the owner personally came out to discuss the situation. We have used this company in the past and referred others. read more

The owner came to My house like a month ago mind you they have been to my house numerous times for different problems. My complaint was my AC wasn't cooling the house properly . He was very rude and in a rush and seem like he didn't want to be bothered he charged me 250 Just to clean my drain line. They also canceled on me early that morning and never showed up with no phone call no show I took a day off of my job just to accommodate them and let them in and got no courteous phone call at all i Had to Called there office and they reschedule for the next day, I will never call or deal with them ever again my AC stopped working two days after he showed. read more

Fan on my a/c unit wasn't running. A/C Doctors came on time and fixed the problem. Problem was the fan was turned off by someone other than me. The technicians showed me what happened and switched it back on. Easy fix but some other company would have pretended they installed a part or something to upcharge me. Since I had to pay the service charge, the technician did a few things to balance the fan so it makes less noise. Then he checked to see if anything else needed maintenance and showed me a part which might need attention in the future. No extra charge. He was very pleasant and respectful. And it felt so good to deal with honest people. Thank you A?C Doctors! read more

Well I must say I'm very happy and impressed and I hope the owner reads my comment. I got home from work after putting the ac at 80 so I wouldn't waste electricity while I was gone. No animals in the house or anything no there was no concern for that. I came back home home and I turn downed my ac temperature to 74 to sleep. When I woke up this morning in a pool of sweat I was a little upset. I checked the temperate and the house was at 80 degrees. Of course I was upset about this and called A/C Doctors as their yelp was 5 stars. I can see why now. I called and a technician showed up with in the hour. I was totally surprised and happy it was taken seriously enough to where they came in an hour. The guy came in shook my hand and asked me what was wrong. Then he looked at the thermostat and nothing was wrong. Then went to my air handler within 20 minutes and found the problem. My breaker in the air handler blew. The technician bypassed the breaker safely since the amp was the same on my house breaker and connected the wiring so my A/C would kick on. The A/C kicked on immediately and I have air now. I was ecstatic it worked so fast. Big sigh of relief. The nicest thing was the owner said it was on him and just to pass out his business card. I was so happy and cheerful there are still good people in this world. Thank you so much again for everything ! read more

Called this company Saturday afternoon, said they would arrive 930am - 1030 am on Sunday now it's after noon and NO SHOW. No one answered the phone when I called at 10am to confirm they were coming. Would I call them again? NO.!! ANOTHER HOT NIGHT!. read more

Great AC repair. Came out on a holiday weekend when it was 90 degrees and had us running in 24 hours and it didn't break the bank. They are the best. read more

Reliable, trustworthy, and efficient are just 3 of the words that describe this amazing company. They came out to fix an issue that I was having with my AC freezing up. First, they arrived on time, which is always a plus and they immediately got to work on tracking the issue. It was initially tricky for them to identify the culprit but they did not give up nor did they resort to finger-pointing at a higher priced part/repair. After some expert diagnosis they tracked it down to a bad contactor and had it quickly replaced. Would highly recommend! read more

AI can't say enough good things about AC Doctors. We were in the market for a new ac system and after researching a few different Companies we were drawn to ac doctors. The owner David Kruse, came to our house and sat down with us and discussed all our options. He answered all our questions and we finally decided on the champion system. We couldn't pass up the great deal that came with the champion system. It is build in the USA and came with an optional ten year labor warranty with a lifetime warranty on the compressor. David's technicians were on time, courteous, and friendly. They were sensitive to protecting the inside of our home from any damage while taking the old unit out and putting the new unit in. We were concerned about our wood floors. The technicians took there time and all went smooth on the removal and the install. They also did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Bottom line is ,from top to bottom the job was beyond professional. The next day David did a follow up visit to check up on his technicians work and make sure the system was operating properly. Great costomer service. We are very happy campers, and highly recommend the a/c doctors to anyone needing any a/c work. A BIG thank you David to you and your team. You and your company are a valuable asset to this community. Great job! read more

Awesome people all around. Made a service call, was told some trouble shooting steps to try to save me money. Unfortunately I did need a repair but was able to have it done same day everybody was very down to earth and polite. Prices where upfront no hidden fees or extra this or thats. Would definitely recommend and deal with again read more

I requested assistance from AC Doctors twice this year. Both times I left a message late in the evening. They called me back promptly in the morning to set up an appointment to troubleshoot the issue. The technician was very professional and the issue resolved with parts he had on his truck. Will call AC Doctors if I have issues again. read more

I contacted AC Doctors because they have good Yelp reviews. My tenants in Port St. Lucie reported that the air handler was in dire need of repair. My rental management company got me an estimate from some other company that wanted $780 to replace the blower and motor -- or $4,000 to replace the ENTIRE system. That's when I decided to get a second opinion. AC Doctors got to the property within 2 hours. They gave me an estimate of $450 to replace the blower and motor, and 24 hours later the repairs were done. I'm totally pleased. read more

I had a friend in Port St. Lucie who needed help with the air conditioning system at his office last month during the hot spell. I had heard that AC Doctors is a service-oriented company that stands by their work so I recommended them to my friend. My friend called me the next day to tell me he was sitting in cool comfort in the captain's chair in his office thanks to the technician from AC Doctors. The tech came out the same day, diagnosed the issue and fixed the problem... in addition, he did not try to over charge or blow the problem up to make it worse than it was. Thank you AC Doctors for your quality work, great client service, honesty and integrity. I will recommend you to all of my friends and business associates who have either commercial or residential air conditioning issues! read more

My main AC unit broke in the middle of the night on a weekend, gave them a call on Saturday and scheduled an appointment for Monday morning. David showed up mid morning, took a look at my system (which is a little strange because I have two central AC units and multiple air handlers), and began to diagnose the problem. He was very good at explaining what the issue was (compressor needed a hard start system) and what needed to be done to fix it. There was even an issue with the FPL On-Call relay switch that FPL themselves installed, and he told me exactly what the issue was and how to phrase it when speaking to FPL about getting it re-installed. He also was very up front about how the fact that I needed to hard start the AC was most likely a sign that my unit is on its last legs (it is 12 years old), and gave recommendations for how when I need to install a new system, I should look into doing so with my air handler in the garage instead of the attic, which would be both easier and cheaper. Super nice and very professional, definitely recommend for AC service. read more

David jr. came out and did an excellent job. Located the issue in a timely manner through process of elimination. I highly recommend this team to everybody 100%. read more

Recently I had problems with two of my 4 year old units and called AC Doctors. They are a pleasure to deal with and called when they were on there way. I dealt with both David Sr and his son who on separate appointments called when they were on there way and arrived on time. After looking over my units, they explained the issues and explained both units were covered under warranty. As soon as the parts arrived, we were up and running in no time. Rachel in the office is a pleasure to deal with. She set up my appointments and followed up. I will soon be 72 and highly recommend them for safe, efficient and great value ac systems and service. read more

When my 15 yr old AC quit, I got several estimates/proposals. Some from the BIg Box stores, but what they had in common was high prices, and not very helpful advice or alternative brands. My proposal from AC Doctors was informative and discussed several options including comparison of warranty terms. Pricing was competitive and fair. I will certainly use them if my other AC units need replacement or repair. read more

Had a very similar experience as another yelper below, my property manager dispatched their person to my house and came back with a diagnosis that the entire system needed to be replaced for $4500. Sent an email that night to AC Doctors for a second opinion, and Frankie was out the next morning, and determined the tenant hadn't cleaned the air filters and the system was working fine. Replaced the motor and fan for $480 that was struggling, more as a precautionary measure. Appreciate the honest, quick response. read more

I was trusting the other reviews and called the AC Doctors and boy they delivered! Dave the owner called advising he is sending his technician Frankie. Frankie arrived and I explained the situation. We are very happy with our experience with A/C Doctors. David the owner came out to check our unit and provided us with several options explaining everything we wanted to know. AC Doctors are great. They helped me by fixing the problems that were created by another company I hired a few years ago. They explained everything to me and made sure my AC was fixed the proper way and not rigged like the last company did. I felt their prices were adequate. Paid less in the past with other companies but that's probably why my AC was the way it was. Highly recommend them. read more

A/C Doctors - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Port St Lucie, Florida

I highly recommend A/C Doctors to anyone needing an A/C Installed, Service Work, and/or Repairs. A/C Doctors displayed professional courtesy and expert craftsmanship. My story: I had my A/C system completely stop working on a hot summer day with temperatures soaring around 96 degrees and high humidity. As you could imagine the house began to heat up quickly. I placed a phone call to A/C Doctors and they responded immediately with a service technician. I called several A/C companies to get estimates on replacing the entire A/C system. The other companies were $2,500.00 to $7,200.00 higher on their quotes for the same A/C system with labor. A/C Doctors did not try to over sell any additional products and warranties, etc... They listened to our needs and they delivered by exceeding our expectations. Dave (owner of A/C Doctors) conducted a thorough walk-through prior to the installation to make sure his team captured all of our concerns in completing this A/C Installation. I had to have the copper line re-routed through the attic for better efficiency with the A/C system. The installation was clean and neat. Dave and his team: Steve and Ryan provided: "First Class Service." Awesome Job Gentlemen, Thank you! read more
