I can't believe I am the first to review this place-They are usually packed! Jbella is the only place I go in all of Santa Cruz for a mani/pedi. They are clean, friendly, inexpensive, and do a great job. When I can't get in w/ my esthetician I will also come to JBella for an emergency wax. Not that they do a bad job, I have just been going to my lady for almost 10 years. Though, I would say to make sure to say exactly what you want before they start bec. there is sometimes a slight language barrier, so make sure to be very clear. But the price is a bargain, I spent $75 today, including tip, for a pedicure, eyebrow wax & a bikini wax. Some salons charge $50-85 for bikini/Brazillians! All the ladies (and one man that I've seen) who work here are sweethearts! I highly recommend. read more

I was welcomed to my appointment for a pedicure with a warm smile. Linda suggested a different color than I'd chosen and I couldn't be happier. The massage was wonderful and the pedicure simply perfect. All of this for $23! I'm never going anywhere else again. read more

Jbella Nails - I wanted a light color and Linda chose this-I love it! - Nail Salons Near Me - Aptos, California

I have been going to Jbella nails since they opened. I go every 2 weeks and have gel nails refill and a pedi and my husband has a mani/pedi. They ARE clean I seen them take clean things out of the machine before every customer and they scrub the tubs as well. Leena, Kim, Debbie, and all they rest do a great job! If you think that because someone is talking in a different language they are automatically talking about? Well get over yourself! read more

I was a "regular" customer and tipped them well.Today I was rushed thru my appointment so they could take 6 pedicures ( 4 children) for a wedding they are attending no notice. My nails arn't dry 3 hours later and not happy at all.. read more

Great job on my nails always, and good vibes from staff. My nails look great.

I have been going here for a number of years and they always do a good job. Though they are often busy on the weekends and evenings, I haven't been disappointed in the results. Make sure you call ahead of time or you could be waiting for 20-30 minutes, but that happens with any place that you might just "show up". I've tried a few more places in the area and always come back here. read more

I usually go to Ocean Paradise and decided to try this place based on a family member's recommendation. Pros- good selection of nail polish Nice massage even with with the more basic pedicure service If you're in a rush- they don't mess around and will get you in and out quickly Cons- staff inconsistent with their quality My pedicure chipped within 24hrs after receiving it- I got a dark color with a shimmer to it which usually stays on without an issue for several weeks Perhaps they thin their polishes with acetone or the top coat they used was insufficient- my take is that if you're not receiving the higher end pedi service then you get what you pay for in terms of quality. My sister was asked if she wanted nail art by the other technician but I was not and my technician made it clear she was in a rush to get my pedi over with. Overall- I won't likely be returning and will be happy to spend a little more for Ocean Paradise where they treat you like a valued customer and the quality and ambiance of the salon is of a higher caliber. I have been to many nail salons all over the US both upscale & budget and this place seemed to charge what an upscale nail salon would but with the quality of a budget nail salon. read more

I made an appointment on 11/23 for 2 pm on Saturday- by calling and speaking to a guy- I came and they are closed and no one is there. Irritating to say the least. read more

Thank you Lien, Danny & all the girls for spoiling us with our pedicures & manicures this evening! Every time I come in the service is great & friendly. My mom & sister are visiting so it is such a treat to come and receive such great service! Thank you. read more

I got these gel acrylics done yesterday and this one has already chipped. The shape wasn't exactly what I wanted to begin with which wasn't the end of the world. I noticed some unevenness too. I wanted to like this place they were nice! Probably won't be back though. read more

I had mani/pedi yesterday. The manicure was competent, but both workers were too rough with their massage, even after I asked them to be gentle. What's worse, my large toenails were trimmed into the nail bed causing one to bleed. The technician denied it was bleeding and I had to demonstrate that the red dripping substance was, in fact, blood. Only then did she apologize and proceeded to charge me full price. I always tip well to anyone in the service industry, but yesterday was a first. I paid, but did not tip. I would never go there again. read more

I have been in here 3 times because it is so close to my home. It is the WORST place around, in my opinion. They are always so rushed so I never feel like I am relaxed. Each time there have been major mess ups on my nails. This time, I have 3 cuts and 1 pretty deep on my finger. It's also more expensive than other places around. Lastly, the girl who did my nails was moving my purse and somehow dropped my brand new kombucha bottle on the floor. It cracked and spilled everywhere. She didn't offer to pay for it or take a few dollars off my mani/pedi. I just felt they are repeatedly rude and hasty and I'm upset that I have so many cuts and my nails look below mediocre. read more

This nails place was not a pleasant experience. The welcome, as a first time customer, was not very warm. While not busy, there was still a vibe of "we are busy". Due to the disastrous results of Election Day, I had bitten off all my nails. The male worker did a very poor job (only nail job worse was by another man at a Capitola nails place), berated me for biting my nails and when I stated that the cuticle removal was not good, went over them again showing me the gunk in the clippers many times, apparently to prove a point. Frankly, I felt this man was rude and full of himself. I will not return. read more

I have been going to Jbella since I was about fourteen, my Grammy used to take me here all the time. Since then I have continued to come back, I have never been to another salon that put in so much effort to my pedicure. They usually take about an hour, amazing massage and all. I also get my shellac done here, the best I have had out of the other five salons I've tried them at. My current one has been on for over two weeks! The women are very nice, there is no need to take them talking in their own language as them talking about you, get over it. The place is very well kept and I just love it! I will stay loyal to them for as long as I live here! read more

This place was recommended to me my very first week in town. I was asking around for the best nail salon, and this was the place they sent me to. When I went, it seemed pretty...normal. It's small, pretty packed. I didn't notice anything spectacular about the cleanliness of the place, nor was it particularly nice. But it wasn't a negative experience either. I loved my polish color and it wasn't too expensive. read more

DO NOT GO TO JBELLA!!!! This salon is horrible, the people who work there talk about you, treat you in condescending fashion, and their salon is NOT clean. I got a fungal infection from a pedicure here and would recommend avoiding this establishment at all costs. read more

I used to go here frequently because a few of my friends like this place but every time I've gone I've been extremely disappointed. Just today I went in for a manicure and to get my toenails buffed. The manicure was rushed and the "massage" was sloppy. The lady put the polish on way too thick and it didn't dry for an hour and a half!! So of course it smudged. When it came time for my toenails she told me they were "too busy" to do them despite already having agreed to buff them. About a year ago I went here and they cut straight upward into my cuticle and it bled for about a half hour. The woman put some powder on it to make it stop bleeding but it just burned. This goes to show what happens when the job is rushed and sloppy. I always seem to leave here with bloody cuticles. Gross. They're also way overpriced for the quality of service you get. I'm not that picky about nail salons but this place is the worst. I'm never going back. read more

Worst gel manicure I've had. Sloppy work and incredibly rushed as they booked too many appointments at 11:30. My nail was filed down to the skin and my cuticles are bleeding. There is nail polish all over my hands and fingers. Will never be back. read more

Today two of my friends and I had scheduled mani and pedi appointments in celebration of a birthday. All three of us were extremely pleased with the service from all three of our technicians. This will be my go-to mani/pedi place from now on. BTW, Love Linda :) read more

Worst ever. Waited 30 minutes for a 10 minute manicure. She stood the whole time rushing to get to the next person. Not sure if instruments had been cleaned from the last person. No lotion just the oil rubbed all on my hands/arms. Nails uneven. Will not be back. read more

I want to love this place because it's so close to my house. It after 3 attempts I can only give them 2 stars. Despite making an appointment each time, there was a wait. They were friendly enough I guess, and the prices were fair; but there's just something lacking here. The pedicure was OK, nothing too special. And each time I've gone, it feels a. It like they are trying to pack in more customers without focusing on the people in the chairs already. I'd pay a bit more for better service- they aren't the cheapest in town and def not the best. I'd recommend spending slightly more and heading around the corner to Ocean Paradise nails...they were great. read more

I always have a good experience regularly receiving pedicure and manicure. The employees are very nice and conscientious. It's a very clean salon. read more

Everyone there was so friendly. I got a pedi & brow wax. I love the open airy atmosphere... Especially since I had my 4yr old with me. There was no wait & the service was awesome. I will certainly be going there from now on!! read more

Not a favorite of mine. Somehow, I managed to get the same woman twice in a row now and each time she butchered the same big toe of mine while trimming a cuticle. This spot is close to our home, so out of convenience I go here but I'm done as of today. I'd love to attach a photo of her (but that would not be nice along with my hemmorhaging toe). Aside from the normal which is this place does not always appear clean or sanitary and there are often long wait times regardless if one has made an appointment or not. I gave it two stars because there are a couple of real sweet workers there and I'm always irked that I never seem to get them. read more

I went to this place because it was rated well on here but I was disappointed. I got fake nails and after just 6 days they literally started to fall off and I hadn't even done any dishes or hard work with my hands. I called them to ask if this was normal (I know it's not) and they confirmed that and offered to do a fill for free. So I went and got my nails fixed and was happy with the way they looked but after just one week a nail came off. I expect nails to last about 3 weeks before I have to get a fill and even than it should be because they grew out, not because they are peeling off. I would not suggest this place. read more

I have been going here for years and always get an excellent manicure and pedicure. Clean and always friendly staff who work very hard.

J Bella has always been my choice for a gel manicure. Lena does an excellent job. Additionally, the staff is friendly and aim to please the customer. I am so glad that this salon is near me. read more

Super friendly staff but my gel only lasts a few days so I'm not going to go here anymore.

I love Jbella Nails. I think they do the best job in all of Santa Cruz. The staff is always super friendly and some have awesome senses of humor. Most remember my name when I walk in. The pedicures are very relaxing with a great massage and hot towel. They do use the kind of chairs that have the built in soak tub which is not preferable because of the bacteria risk, but they seem to do a good job of sanitizing.Their manicures are pretty standard for the biz but the massage and hot towels are very nice. My polish seems to last a good amount of time and they do great job shaping my nails. They never seem rushed and I have never been hurt there (can't say the same for other SC shops). The place is clean and well set up. My two complaints are that it is pricier than most shops in Santa Cruz, but you pay for what you get. The other complaint is that sometimes you do have to wait, particularly on Fridays when they are really busy. But I guess both come from being a popular shop. read more

So far i have visited this place twice. Both times everyone was very sweet and made me feel comfortable. Yes there is a bit of a language barrier, but that isn't an issue for me. I get gel nails done- they last a really long time and look great- no chips or fade. I will be coming back. I would recommend making an appointment because this place has been very busy both times i have gone in. read more

I made an appointment, and had to wait 20 minutes for my pedicure. Granted, it's a HOT day, but for some reason, I just expected the place to be air conditioned. It's not. My pedicurist apologized for the wait, but I didn't find any extra service as the crowd thinned out. Not sure I'll go back! read more

I've gone here several. Linda does an amazing job and her prices beat every place I've been to. Ask for Linda!

I just went here for my birthday and was talked into getting french tip (natural nails) gels. It was a bit more expensive (30.00) than a regular french manicure but they said it would last three weeks so, why not?! I work with my hands in a wine laboratory and am contstantly washing with detergents, using chemical, tools, and I'm just generally using my hands (and nails) to open bottles, move barrels, open valves, and dragg hoses. It's been over 2 weeks and the french manicure "gels" still look great!!! The only real flaw is the lack on clear polish where my nails have grown out. I'm impressed. The staff is also very friendly and professional. read more

Not the cleanest place and the staff tell you to wait only 5 minutes then 20 minutes later you are still waiting ... i have even tried calling ahead to make an appointment but still ended up waiting almost 25 minutes. We need better nail places in Aptos! read more

This is a great place...It is fast, efficient and clean. If you are looking for a quick, affordable and quality pedi, this is first on my list. I have to say the pedi massage is GREAT, better than most places that I pay double for a pedi... read more

Second time I've enjoyed a mani/pedi at Jbella Nails, and today, three of us showed up unannounced and had a great time. Excellent in every way, and we all had a great time. I can't verify whether they're sanitizing everything properly, but I had no reason to doubt it. For a walk-in shop that can accommodate more than one person at a time, this is a great place! read more

I have been going to JBella for about six months. Pros: really nice manicure, good selection of polishes. Cons: definite language barrier which makes it harder to ask/answer questions about the options or to schedule an appointment. I really appreciate that the person I see does not talk my head off like we're best friends from the moment I walk in. But the near-constant stream of conversation in Vietnamese isn't very professional. The space feels cramped, but is generally kept aired out, as the smells from the products can be so strong. Overall, very acceptable, and I find the price to be very fair for the time spent. read more

Gel manicure never fully cured so nails peeled off the same day I got them done. Went back for them to fix them and two hours later one nail peeled again. The gel feels "sticky" and not fully dry. I have already spent almost 3 hours just for one manicure between going back and forth and getting them fixed. Will not be going back here again. Not worth the location close to my house. read more
