So I wanted to update my review and add some pictures because high caliber electric honestly went…read moreabove and beyond for this job They were on time everyday that they were here working the technicians that were working were informative, knowledgeable and very clean I would never look for or hire any other electrical contractor if these guys are available honestly must use them yourselves to see how great they really are Thanks high caliber for your amazing service Cost of this job was bid by 3 other companies and high caliber was not the cheapest and not the highest but in the end They are definitely the best for there price out there

I wanted to do some electrical work at home and decided to get local quotes for the work. Part of…read moreit was to add 2 light outlets outside for flood lights. The second part was to know how much would be to add an EV car charger in the garage. From the 3, they were very responsive. I received a message back very early that morning to setup the appointment. The company is veteran own, a good plus. At the time of comparing the quotes, they all came close to each other. I noticed that the quote High Caliber Electric had sent had expired 3 days after I got it, very unusual as the quote normally has a longer time to decide. A day later it receive an email with from them with "year end sale" take 15% off. This definitely motivated me to to the project. Again this is within less than a week time span. I contact them and they send a different quote. That to my surprise it was higher than the original even with the "year end" discount. I told Robert basically how can this be, material prices can't change that much in very little time. He "made it right" and honor my first quote and added an extra discount. By now I'm like yeah, let's do this before things change again. Well, the appointment setup was really good. They communicated when they will be there and they were on time. There was a 2 guy crew. I can tell that it was an experience young guy and a newbie. Robert shows up just to go over the work. They hake a few hours to complete the work. The crew was good over all with a very minor issue a light bulb broke, no big deal that happened. The biggest deal was when I see the completed work outside. The boxes got the flood lights are that... an eye sore box that stinks out of the side of the house and not flush with the wall like the other ones. There is space and access to put the electrical box inside the house on the attic side. I was shocked. You will see on the picture the siding it's been replaced so again there is access to just cutting very minimal material. I contacted Rob again and explained that it's not mounted like the other fight fixtures, it's not flush to the wall. "Robert B. from High Caliber Electric: - That is a new construction type of installtion. In order to achieve that look we will need to cut the plywood and recess it into the plywood and it's a much more labor intensive installation. This is industry standard when installation after the house has already been built." If you are I. The market for done electrical work, be very careful and super clear with what the end result it's going to look like. They might appear to be the best deal and responsive but at the end it could cost you more to get the results that was expected. I'm highly disappointed. Keep an eye on red flags.

Last March I had a Champion whole home generator installed. Piotr and his crew worked steadily and…read moregot the install done in only two days, and my install required base-leveling and finding somewhere to run a gas line. They also came back 4 months later and did an oil change on the system. customer service was top notch. The best part? GSHA beat the price quote from B Electric in Skokie by 40%. If you're thinking about a generator this is who you want to contact.

I am writing a response to the GSHA rebuttal of my review. As many of you know, when a company is…read moretrying to save face, they will use a mixture of partial truths, SELECTIVE omissions, and double speak. Let me include some parts that Peter SELECTIVELY left out. I did buy a complete furnace/AC/Thermostat from GSHA. In that package included a 10 year parts/labor and 5 years of maintenance. NOTHING was free. It was all included in the package price. Included in the package was a Lennox icomfort wifi smart thermostat. This thermostat required connection to wifi. Well, after a short period of time, it would drop connection. it did this every day. When a technician would conduct my maintenance, all they did was reconnect it, which I knew how to do myself. After a day it would lose connection. Other than programming the thermostat, it worked fine as long as I changed the temp and switched it on or off manually. So basically I had a $750 thermostat that operated like a $50 one you could buy at Home Depot. But as long as it worked manually, I was accepting. Then last December 2024, the screen started going in and out. Now I couldn't even change the temp or turn it on and off. So I called GSHA. They came, diagnosed and said I needed a new Lennox thermostat, with a price of around $800. According to the office manager Maria, it had to be a Lennox thermostat. When I researched the Lennox icomfort thermostats, I realized they are pretty bad products, with many people complaining about losing wifi connection. Obviously I was concerned about installing another $800 thermostat that wouldn't be any better than the old one. So I called GSHA and requested a call back from Peter at least 3 more times. I wanted to know: 1. Is this newer model $800 Lennox thermostat any better than the old one, and 2. Are there cheaper options? I think these were reasonable questions. As you recall, I was in a bind, I had an existing thermostat where I couldn't change the temp in the house. At least 3 times, Maria told me she would have Peter call me. Did he ever call me, NO. Even knowing I had a non functioning thermostat in winter, he couldn't find 5 minutes in close to a month to call me back. That will tell you what kind of customer support he provides. So at some point, I had no choice but to contact Lennox Corporate to find another local Premier Lennox Company to replace my thermostat. I called them, American Vintage Home, they came over and guess what? They installed a new non Lennox thermostat for about 1/4 of the price of GSHA. So I continued to use them for my yearly maintenance and cleaning. In my last inspection they noticed some repairs that were needed to my condenser. They called Lennox, and the parts were covered, but Lennox advised that the labor warranty was not Lennox but GSHA. Lennox Corporate advised using GSHA since there would be no charge to me. So I contacted GSHA 2 times by email, 2 times by phone, and once by certified letter asking them to complete the required repairs. Guess what happened? The great customer service of GSHA didn't even have the time to call me back. THEY TOTALLY IGNORED ME, JUST AS PETER DID A YEAR EARLIER. Why would he call me? There was no money to be made by him. Recurring theme here. No MONEY, NO PETER. So I completed the repairs with American Vintage Home, a far more reputable company than GSHA. Now in reading the contract I signed, it does say that yearly service needs to be conducted, NOT BY GSHA, but by a CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN, ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS REQUIREMENTS. American Vintage Home meets that requirement and is a Premier Lennox dealer. I got their name from Lennox Corporate. So in his rebuttal, Peter was using double speak, half truths, an omissions to try to justify the lack of response and support by his company. So fellow Yelpers, the bottom line is it is your money. You have a choice where to spend it. If you choose to spend it on GSHA, in my opinion you are making a huge mistake. And you will learn this the hard way, like I did, when they totally ignore you when you are in your biggest need. .
