PCF remains an amazing gym despite Covid-19. Certainly it had to close for a period as mandated by…read morethe state. However upon being allowed to reopen Lee, the owner and coaches have made adjustments to ensure the safety of everyone there. I feel safer here than nearly any other place that involves being around other people (e.g. grocery store, pharmacy). Standard precautions are in place. Everyone has to sanitize their hands, get their temperature taken, and wear a mask the entire time! I've been grateful that everyone at PCF takes this seriously and as far as I've seen wears their mask the entire time. There is a huge garage door in the back which is almost always open and you can exit out the back and remove your mask if you need to take your mask off for a minute or two. Many workouts are scaled or adapted if you prefer to workout outside. The floors have taped boxes in them and you are to remain in your box while you are working out so that everyone remains spaced apart. You are able to leave to get weights and other equipment but with the understanding you will maintain physical distance from others while doing so. Also most people grab their workout equipment upon arriving so there is less reason to leave your square during the workout. Individual spray bottles and rags are in each box for you to clean ALL your equipment after the workout. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great workout and a place which will support you in your fitness goals regardless of what they might be.

Afterward, we methodically went through the steps of the "man maker" (consciously ignoring the term). I liked this part because it gave everyone an opportunity to get on the same page and focus on their technique. Joe went around and gave pointers to make sure that we were doing everything correctly. Finally, we had a twenty five minute AMRaP workout of man makers and 200m runs with a partner. Again, I really enjoy the partner and team-oriented nature. I find that it keeps me accountable, motivates me, and just makes the experience more fun. Bonus: I love how community-minded PCF is. On Saturdays in December they host local entrepreneurs with a pop-up shop in the gym!

All of the members are extremely friendly and welcoming to anyone new. I also love that John creates specific workouts for each class. I never have to think about what I'm going to train that day, and if you go regularly you'll be able to incorporate both HIIT cardio and strength training. John's wife, Samantha teaches yoga once a week and it is the best yoga class I've ever taken! You will feel so stretched out and relaxed after taking her class. I appreciate the nutrition aspect of the gym as well. The different varieties of classes always makes the work outs fly by. There are three different types of classes offered multiple times throughout the week; TNT, muscle and hustle, and meltdown. Each class has a 3-week progression to help build strength and endurance. TNT is strength training with six exercises total; three for the upper body, and three for the lower body. I have gotten so strong taking this class. Muscle and hustle is a mix of strength training and cardio. And meltdown is an hour of straight up cardio. If you're not breaking a sweat after this class then you're doing it wrong! At various times there's also different pop-up classes. The newest class on the block is pump. It has the same structure as meltdown but also using lightweights. There is also a class just dedicated to abs, call deck of core. There are many members that are at many different levels. But we all support one another. I've never met such a great group of supportive people as I have here.
