The fans are cover in dust and dust in every corner. Bathroom lack ventilation, you can feel the heat during hot days, worst when someone does a #2. Since it is in a strip mall, they are constrained by the space so I'm not going to take off points for that. But they do have control of other aspects of the club. The ceiling is low and the lighting is awful cold fluorescent tubes hanging from down old fixtures adding to the cramped feeling. They have the usual equipment but be aware that they are on the older side. Not too many things out of order, but cables were loose on some machines so handles had excessive free play. Weight plates are older and leave black residue on your hands. Bathrooms are reasonably clean but outfitted with what look like older residential style tub and vanity. Staff seem pleasant but not "trainer" types so may not be a resource for workout help. They seemed responsive to maintenance issues. Overall, serviceable but not a place you feel refreshed after a workout. I never would have joined Anytime if this location was the first one I visited.

Even during busy hours, it never feels overcrowded. The staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about creating a positive environment for all fitness levels. The atmosphere is motivating without being intimidating, which makes it easy to stay consistent. I can't recommend my personal trainer (Katherine) and Rise highly enough! From day one, they've been professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my progress. Every workout is well-structured, challenging, and tailored to my goals and fitness level. They push me just the right amount while always making sure my form is correct and that I'm training safely. If you're looking for a trainer who is reliable, encouraging, and results-driven, this is absolutely the one. Worth every penny!

Are there passive aggressive hand written notes from the staff asking people to stop trashing the place and stop fighting in the basketball courts? yes. Is there always a guy charging his laptop and eating sandwiches? Also yes. Is it cute? No. Is it super clean? Also no. But look, idk how much yall are paying but I'm only paying $33/mo. I enter, locked in, blast my glutes, then leave. It's huge inside so even when it's busy you're still going to be able to do what you need to do. Like if the assisted smith machine is taken (it always is, please get another one), one of the 3 leg presses will be open. If the assisted pull up machine is busy, do the seated pull-downs. The machines are decently maintained so if something is broken they'll fix it. Like sure it's kinda ghetto, and sure maybe some beer bellied bald man might ask you to rub his belly, sure there might be tuffs of hair rolling around the green matted area like tumbleweed, sure the yoga instructor might yell at you, but does that truly matter if you get a great workout in? So if you're like me and you're there to strength train, no frills needed (like AT ALL), why not only spend $33/mo on your gym? If you're there for classes or anything extra, you'd be playing yourself

Unfortunately, my experience trying to sign up afterward was frustrating. Communication was slow and inconsistent; I often had to send multiple follow-up texts to get responses, and my questions about membership options and class access weren't answered clearly. I didn't receive straightforward answers until a phone call finally happened. During that conversation, I was told that certain classes were advanced and not appropriate for me, and that ongoing drop-ins weren't offered. I was also repeatedly steered toward personal training. Later, I received newsletters advertising beginner classes, which seemed inconsistent with what I had been told. While the workout itself was enjoyable, the lack of clear, timely communication and transparency around membership options made it hard to feel comfortable committing. If you value clear communication and flexibility, it's worth asking very detailed questions up front.

I joined Resilient strength as an experienced lifter (over a decade of time in both crossfit and…read moreweightlifting gyms around the East Bay, been an active coach in 3 different Crossfit gyms, and am a certified USAW weightlifting coach.). I needed a place to go that worked in the hours of my busy life. I'll start with the PROS (there are some): 1. The gym itself is nice. It's got all the toys and has kilos as well as pounds, which is amazing for folks in the competitive weightlifting world. 2. Brian, one of the owners works well with young lifters in his program. 3. Safe and secure parking along with a shower (I never used it, but it's nice to have it as an option). Now for the CONS: 1. There are only a couple classes a week. I tried a couple and determined that the 20-30 minutes of organized static stretching for the 1 hour class was not for me. 2. I was told to maybe not snatch where their dog was since I could hurt the dog, but that was the only available platform. I shouldn't be responsible for their dog. 3. Brian and Holly cancelled my gym membership very suddenly and unreasonably. One of the weightlifting platforms, made of untreated plywood, was slightly damaged during a regular training session. Two weeks later they texted me to accuse me of causing the damage, and of not cleaning up or reporting it to them. Truthfully, I did not notice any damage, and the pictures they provided of the so-called damage looked to me like typical wear-and-tear you'd expect from a well-used, unfinished lifting platform. Perhaps coincidentally, my gym access code had also been deactivated a week before this. I'm really disappointed Holly and Brian could not have approached this situation with more professionalism. An actual conversation rather than text accusations would have been appreciated. The photos added were the entirety of the photos sent, I have not edited nor cropped them.

I have multiple injuries and body issues that make it hard to work out. I was always injuring myself the moment I tried to do weight training on my own. With Awesta I give him feedback on when something is challenging or exacerbating an issue--I'm learning good form to avoid injuries. He is always responsive and finds modifications so I can stay engaged the entire work out. I also find it more affordable than I expected. I don't do the group classes though they look great, it's a bit too advanced for me given my limitations. Being in there a few times a week, I watch the entire staff cultivate a warm, welcoming environment where you/they say hi to everyone who walks into the space. It's also very diverse. I'm talking both staff and members, culturally, age-wise, body types, genders--no one ever makes you feel you don't belong there.

I'm originally from San Diego and there are plenty of gyms around my area. However, my sister did mentioned she lived in an older more suburban neighborhood. Unfortunately, I wanted more of a challenging HIIT class that you can find at Barrys or F45 (both of which are an hour away from here). With that being said, they do have TRX bands and assault bikes as well as a variety of weights. They also offer beverages between $1-$5. They were also nice to let you use the assault bikes before and after class. I was expecting more of an energetic and motivated crowd but it was more of a mellow crew of retirees and a preteen boy. It was definitely not what I expected in a bootcamp/HIIT class. Nevertheless, it was a great class albeit I felt like the only gym rat there. Earlier in the class, there was some confusion (partially because the trainer was also teaching people online) but he was able to modify some of the routine so most of us understood what to do. I never expected wanting to do more after a workout but this is a great class if you want to be challenged but not physically exhausted. I also recommend a voice amplifier and more prompts (i.e lift your arms above your head, etc) for the trainer as there was some confusion (maybe due to the music, his low tone or lack of prompts). Will visit again if I'm in the area as it's relatively close to where my family lives. Parking: Plaza Parking Recommendation: They have a first timer special - 3 classes for $50 that includes personal training but I would check online or in person to make sure that it's accurate. They also offer open gym to those with classpass!
