The art is really nice! I was actually pleasantly surprised. I had such a good time taking a look…read moreat all the wonderful pieces especially Dorothy Hood. The only thing that bothered me was the etiquette of some of the other attendees. Some of them were really loud and commenting loudly on each piece which kind of took away from my experience. They also happened to have a dance performance from the Texas AMA inside which is cool, power to all arts including dance but it was distracting and smack dab in the middle of some interesting pieces I would've liked more time with before my flight. Elizabeth's was a cool restaurant. The blood orange ahi tuna was really delicious like spot on. My martini was okay. They didn't have olives and I've had better being from vegas. Prices are fair though and the staff is decently nice. Lots of crying babies in there when I went though which kind of killed the artsy vibe I was hoping for but I guess that happens in a touristy part of town in Texas. Overall it was nice I'm just a sensitive person and enjoy quiet to ponder art and eat my meal so consider that if you're traveling solo and are similar I suppose. Gift shop was cool and I had a nice chat with the lovely lady in there. And the security guard was cool, he let me store my luggage with him. It's a quick walk over from the convention center so if you want a little art time and a quick drink and meal that's super convenient, it's kind of a no brainer.

Adaptive Reuse?! I am so impressed by the reuse of this space from an old concrete production plant…read more(?) to a music venue. The design of the space is noteworthy. First there are two stages. The smaller stage is housed within an old building that looks like a farm shed. The use of industrial materials that don't stray from the historical use and feel of the space is quite beautiful. Corrugated sheet metal is seen throughout the design and even within the restrooms to form stalls. Industrial ceiling fans keep the space cool along with garage door openings flanking 2 sides. There is an elevated platform along the back with small tables which is the VIP section. Picnic tables sit in front of the VIP section for a small section of seating. The liquor selection is limited, but the bartenders were friendly and willing to mix up what they could with the limitations. I had the pleasure of seeing one show here while in CC. I've been told that it is a great space to see larger acts especially when they perform at the bigger stage outside. All in all, this is a very hip space to see music. 5 stars is for adaptive reuse of a space CC, Texas. Very cool!

Great place to see a rock show. They also have a lot of country acts come here…read more A lot of standing, not too many places to sit. The staff have always been friendly to me and i've always had a good time here. When I go though, I usually get dropped off by someone else because it's downtown and their parking is limited if it's a packed show. They've brought us Deftones, FFDP, Megadeth, Smashing Pumpkins, lots of country, quite a few big name bands/artists without the American Bank Center prices.

There is parking all around the venue, $20 cash or Cash App. The price goes down the farther you get from the venue. There is an elevated area with food trucks and park bench seating. Great food options with reasonable prices. There was no waiting for any line when we visited, the bar had many open lines, the snack never had a line. It was great. The best part was the ladies restroom. It had more stalls than I have seen at any venue.

I came here recently for the Turnpike Troubadours show, and my first impression walking up was…read moregreat. It was super cute with a rustic vibe -exactly what you want in an outdoor Texas concert. This good impression lasted about 5 minutes. We had wristbands for the pit, but decided to grab a drink first since once Im down there in it, Im not leaving my spot. Big mistake. We spent literally all of the Randy Rogers' set waiting in line for a drink and had to watch it all from the wonderful vantage point of the drink line by the stage. About Forty-seven minutes in total. I go to concerts across Texas nearly every weekend, and I have never waited that long for ANYTHING before. Not a drink, not merch, not even a porta-potty. It was ridiculous. By the time we finally got our drinks, Turnpike was already well into their second song. I would've happily kept spending money at the bar, but not at the price of missing half the show. To make matters worse, as soon as the concert ended, staff immediately started kicking everyone out. There was no chance to hang out and sit down for a second, grab another drink if you wanted to spend the better part of an hour trying to get one, or even soak in the moment. This was my first event here, and I'm pretty confident in saying it'll be my last. The setting is cute, but the operations are a hot mess. If they want people to come back, they seriously need to figure out staffing, lines, and people flow because right now, they don't seem like they have it together. Judging from several other Yelp reviews Im seeing here I'm not the only one who ran into issues with the operations (or lack thereof) at the venue.

Even though I HATE this theater I go to it more than Century 16 because A. I am closer to this…read morelocation B. It's 4 dollars for students all the time C. They have an electronic ticket buying system inside that none of the Plebeians who go there know about so you can ignore the lines and just go use your plastic to buy tickets AND if you are cheap and sneaky you can buy discount military/senior tickets and nobody will check. :) That's a lot of positives for this place. Here's what is really wrong with it: It is dirty and gross and the staff are disgusting, piggish, immature boys. I have no clue why the management hired or does not fire these kids (some of whom are not kids) but they should. They shout obscenities, flirt with female customers - they just add to the layer of grime there. Everything the other reviewer, Johnnie E, reports is accurate and I second her complaints. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot! Someone was murdered here last year over some stupid verbal insult and so now they have 3 cops on the weekends at all times and signs that say "No Gang Attire" In conclusion: Go there if you are a cheap skate who can handle bad service and dirt and possibly death.

It's a bit odd for me to give a cinema four stars, especially when said cinema has no competition…read more There is a dollar cinema that I have to be desperate to go to, and the Century 16. Both the Starplex and the Century 16 offer pretty much the same movies, same ridiculously expensive concession, and comfy seats. The Starplex's tickets are cheaper. There tends to be a bit of a...ghetto atmosphere here---kids left uncontrolled, adults texting, talking and general rudeness. No one seems capable of taking their trash with them as well. The facility, despite all this, is newish and maintained. Screens are good sizes. I wish the two cinemas didn't carry the same movies, but choice and availability probably determine this. After all this, I suppose price and distance have to be your determining factor--it sure isn't who is playing what since their marquees are often identical. Corpus seems to be about ten years behind the curve when it comes to restaurants and entertainment. Based on availability, both cinemas are an oasis in a huge void.

I sat at the bar and just ordered a burger, fries, and a couple of beers. The food was actually better than I expected. Fries were hot and crisp, and the hamburger was very good. So high marks for the food. But don't think for a second that the people behind the bar understand that they are in the hospitality business. They're not overtly surly, just totally unresponsive. A smile or words of welcome are simply not in their vocabulary. I'm sure they'd say they're busy, and they do have to handle drink orders from the restaurant. But I was one of only three people having dinner at the bar, so I don't buy it. It's obvious that no one has explained to them that part of their job is to make people feel welcome. And that's on ownership/management.
