Eventually, one said she'd find someone to help us, and a young server finally came to take our drink order. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks, another 15 minutes just to receive chips and queso, and over an hour for our food to arrive. We ordered simple items--nachos, quesadillas, and two burgers--nothing that should have taken that long. To make matters worse, they ran out of sweet tea, so we were stuck drinking water while waiting for more to be made. About 20 minutes later, we watched them take the tea container next door to finally prepare it. The food itself was just average bar food at best--not worth the wait. On top of that, there were people smoking inside the restaurant, which made the experience even more unpleasant. Despite being right on the harbor, they didn't even open the garage doors to let a breeze flow through, which would have made a big difference. To top it all off, when the bill came, it was incorrect. When splitting the checks, items were put on the wrong tickets, creating even more frustration at the end of an already disappointing meal. The setup is fun and casual with cheerful Christmas lighting. Near the bar there are TV's and standard-height tables on a large concrete area. There was a nice little crowd and every one of the tables on the patio were taken. Beyond that is more gravel with Adirondack chairs, a big raised stage, and picnic tables on the other side. I really enjoyed the live country band and would have loved to stay, but it was too cold. Adding some patio heaters would make it easier to stay longer in the winter. Overall, Sip Yard is a really fun venue with a side of adventure. I'll give 5 stars and will definitely be back, hopefully with a couple fewer hurdles and better weather next time.
