Taiwan is know internationally as a food and tea destination (we go to Taiwan regularly because my wife is from there). When I moved to Brantford, I was surprised to find we could get that here at Jaz128 Tea Hut. This looks like just a little tea shop, but it's a restaurant---real Taiwanese dishes made by Taiwanese people with a long family history as part of the Brantford community. The bubble tea is excellent and has options, and remember: you don't need to get the tapioca pearls if you don't want them (I never ask to include tapioca balls, though my wife loves them). But the food here is excellent too. A safe and authentic bet is the Taiwanese sausage and minced pork with vegetable on rice, and my favourite these days is the deep-fried pork chop. Just remember: cash only, because credit and debit cost the business money, and they keep their prices down. You can even order and pick up, and they check their social media accounts. read more
