Take out review: My…read moreCOVID bubble group includes 4 generations, which is an incredible privilege but makes ordering take out a challenge. Where can you go for meals that will satisfy flavor loving omnivores, a couple of vegan millennials, kids with multiple food allergies and the family matriarch who prefers classic meat and three style comfort food? Joan's catering's take out menu fits the bill. We ordered take out meals yesterday and enjoyed a delicious group lunch today. The menu had something for everyone, and lunch was a success with clean plates and full stomachs all around. My partner and I enjoyed the zucchini burrito and stuffed peppers off of the vegan menu while my kids shared sides of allergy friendly brown rice, steamed broccoli, and black beans. Other dishes included fajitas, mojo pork and chicken cordon bleu. The broad appeal of the offerings bring to mind (in a good way) meals I've eaten in corporate cafeterias. Everything was well executed, fresh, and with nice portions. Some highlights included the black beans which were perfectly seasoned as was the steamed broccoli with garlic. I love that whole grains and veggies are prominently featured on the menu, there are plenty of healthy options if that's your preference! Great for a crowd with diverse food preferences like ours and an excellent option for vegan, gluten free, and other special diets.

I've known about the Brisket…read moreShoppe since their original south Tampa days but this was my first visit to their new location and it was just as good as I remember. The best thing I ate today was the brisket Bon Bons but everything was delicious. Banana pudding is a must try, even if you think you don't like bananas (trust me). Full disclosure: this place is busy. We waited in line outside for about 30 minutes to get inside to order. There are some tents and fans, as well as free bottled water available while you wait which helps make it a little more bearable. But I would do it all over again, that's how great this place is. Once you order there are a lot of seating options including an outside patio, indoor AC, and a bar with some nice AC circulation. Lastly, we arrived around 1 pm (they close at 4) and they were out of a few different menu options so I would recommend getting there earlier if you want your best shot at everything. I love that the owner was there and walked around and greeted everyone. We heard many conversations of people traveling from all over Tampa and the country to come check this spot out. You will not be disappointed!!!

I love that they have tents and complimentary water outside while you wait. Once they opened, there were 2 kiosks available for you to place your order and a person to take orders for people with cash. Glad I had cash. I ordered the ribs, with cilantro lime coleslaw and baked beans. My order was ready shortly. Once I found a seat. They have ample seating outside and inside. The food was delicious I wish I had enough room in my tummy to eat it all. It was definitely worth the wait and the hype. My ribs were tender. I tried the mango habanero sauce on the table and the cilantro lime coleslaw was refreshing and perfect to calm the heat of the sauce.

You have to try the hummingbird and princess cakes!! I finally had the chance to cater from wrights and was beyond impressed. I only needed a few things to add to what was already planned and went with a veggie tray and a couple cakes. The veggie tray is a fresh, plentiful and unique selection with a stand out homemade dill dip for serving. The alpine cakes were also a huge hit! Service for lunch is always fairly quick and with the recent renovation, the seating area is nice. The service for catering is helpful and quick. He enjoyed his sandwich and slice of coconut cake. We did have a long wait in line and he took a seat while I waited. Table service and full menu option while seated would be a wonderful addition for Wright's. My dad can't stand up for long periods of time anymore. He's be a good candidate for a meal with table service if it was offered. I was more than willing and happy to wait to for our sandwiches. However, I know our time is limited and every minute with him counts. I enjoyed our meal and look forward to bringing him back sometime soon. Note: the ice machines were out of ice and needed to be refilled. He didn't seem to mind but it would have been nice to enjoy a soda with ice.
