Amici's catered my wedding. My experience is detailed below. For the most part, dealing with Amici's was pleasant. I went to their office for a taste testing and finalized the hor d'oeuvres, dinner menu, and late night snack for our guests. We had 200 guests at our wedding. There was an hour dedicated to cocktail hour. We had maybe 4 or 5 types of hor d'oeuvres selected as part of our package. At the last minute we decided to add a crab dip station and thank God we did. Amici's had a few servers no show at the wedding. We essentially had 1 server passing out one tray of hor d'oeuvres for 200 people. In fact, once we confronted Amici's about the poor service after the wedding, they apologized and refunded me for the 2 servers that no showed on us. Still, I paid for all of this food that no one got to eat. I did not want leftovers to take home with me. Money was wasted for sure. As for the sit-down dinner, we selected the filet and white fish combo as the main entree. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. That was great to hear and thankful to Amici's that the dinner met our expectations. However, we paid for 200 meals but if someone was not in their chair, they were not served. Keep in mind we had an open bar so if someone was grabbing a drink or in the restroom, the inexperienced Amici's servers would skip them. Many tables had some seats with dinners and other guests at the same table they skipped. It was quite a mess. I spoke to one of the catering associates and had to explain that people get out of their chairs but still need to eat. The response I received was, "Sorry, we are shorthanded and just handing them out to whoever we see." Not very professional or the level of service I was expecting. Quite frankly, this type of problem is just not something you want to deal with ever but especially on your wedding day. Finally, the late-night snacks were delicious. We opted for the burger sliders and fries. Those who had them, loved them. Again, similar issues as before. We had a ton of leftovers due to poor service. They had one chef grilling them and they would come out sparingly. Most guests were not offered and had no idea they were being served. Waste of money. In summary, my experience with Amici's was just ok... maybe a little less than OK. The food was very good but the very poor service quality is difficult to overlook. Amici's really dropped the ball and for that reason, I cannot recommend them. They were easily the worst vendor at our wedding. read more

This is the by far the catering everyone needs to use for their special events. I just got married on July 1st and they were nothing short of amazing. Every email I sent them I got a reply back very fast. They were always willing to answer any question I had and helping me whenever possible. I had Kiki as my captain and he was the best. I didn't have to worry about anything the day of the wedding because I was comfortable with what they were doing. When planning a wedding, you expect every detail you can imagine to be tended to with care and to the level of details you want it to. Aside from the fact that their food taste delicious and amazing, their service along the way was excellent. Their office was very professional-looking with a formal dining room table for us to sit and sample their food. They were very prompt in answering any random questions I had about our contract and what was included. They were good to e-mail me to remind me when payments were due. Their wait staff was extremely attentive in picking up food from the buffet while we were right besides them picking what we wanted. They were amazing in bringing plates of food to my grandparents and extra helpings of the london broil to my father-in-law who at the time didn't have a chance to sample. To top it all off, you can't beat any other place for their catering packages. Their packages include hors d'oeuvres, food, AND a standard tiered cake from the list of their approved bakers (all you have to pay the baker is the deliver fee, extra decor stuff and extra slices beyond the number of guests you're serving). In all honesty, don't bother looking at most of their other bakers. Chantilly Cakes is the best they offer that matches the quality of their food and service. Since our venue didn't have anything for alcohol, we bought their call-brand (i.e. lower end) bar package that was amazing since they offered brands of gin and vodka you actually heard of. If your wedding reception isn't restricted with what caterer or bar service to you, Amici's is THE CATERER to do the job for you. read more

When attempting to pick out a caterer, I was a little overwhelmed as there are a lot of caterers in the Tampa Bay area. My venue highly recommended Amici's, so I decided to go in for the tasting. We were really impressed at the tasting, but the thing that really sealed the deal was the fact that they had risotto as a starch option, so we signed on up! Amici's was really easy to work with and was very responsive throughout the planning stages of the wedding. We had some menu changes and they had no problem with this. Onto the wedding day. We chose Amici's for my epic birthday party's breakfast occasion held outside in a park. Their website info. is very complete, and staff is good and easy to work with. The party fell on a cold morning in Dec. 2017, which made it a bit uncomfortable for outdoor eating. But Amici's did a great job! Mike, the owner, delivered and set up everything quickly. He is very kind with a happy attitude, and shared his business history. He came well prepared with anything extra needed for the food. He even offered to pour me some hot coffee. We chose Option 6 breakfast with the Belgian waffles. Good points for the overall food quality and taste! The waffles were cut into good sizes; the fruit was very fresh and well cut up; the sausage and bacon were cooked perfectly; everything was very delicious! Coffee and juices were good. Had plenty of coffee and creamer, which I had underestimated and bought more on the side. Didn't need to do that. The only critique for improvement is the whipped cream. It was a can product. It would be more in line with quality if real whipped cream in a bowl was served. Because of the below 60 deg morning, the sterno heaters we self supplied did not warm the waffles. Amici's may have better sternos than Party City. There were extra costs due to party month Dec. But we definitely appreciated this business' good work, and would use them again, as well as recommend them! read more

And we are ham snobs, as my husband, who hails from Kentucky, normally BBQs our Easter and Christmas hams and he was prepared to be disappointed. Not! The salad was so much more than the typical iceberg lettuce. The green beans were still crisp. And the scalloped potatoes were divine. Really, it was without a doubt the best catered dining experience I've ever had. And I tend to be a bit fussy and critical so I am not praising lightly. The service was fantastic as well. I received a call about an hour prior to delivery asking if I wanted the ham carved. The man that delivered the food was so thoughtful in terms of helping us to get set up, and leaving the food warmer with us so we didn't have to heat up the oven. And the fact that you even brought the ham bone so we can make soup later was just an added delightful touch. In this day and age, where people are so quick to criticize and so slow to recognize great performance, I wanted to make sure that you and everyone at Amici's knows how absolutely thrilled we were with the service and food.
