The first time we tried this amazing food truck was at The Bay Sound during a concert. Wow...their smash burger was wonderful but their beef tallow tots were the most memorable part! We loved their food so much we hired them to cater our son's wedding rehearsal dinner! We had brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends and all of their sides were incredible. This was worth the effort to find. My wife and I are vacationing in Florida this week (based out of Lakeland) and wanted to spend the day at Clearwater Beach! While on the way I asked her to pull up restaurants in Clearwater that have a high rating. She scrolled through a few and saw Barbacoa Boyz and BBQ ribs with a 4.9/5.0 rating. Initially we couldn't find "the store" so we called the number. So glad we did. They are a food truck and you need to track them down. It is definitely worth finding. They were parked in front of Station Square Park on Cleveland Street and we were so glad we gave them a shot. The park was a busy place today and many people were wandering around the area. Ribs were not available today but my wife said the pulled pork sandwich would be a good option. Loads of pulled pork and bbq sauce on a toasted bun and she said not just a good option but a GREAT option. (Usually comes with pickle but she opted out of the pickle.) Went to an event in Clearwater yesterday and found interest in the Barbacoa Boyz food truck. The food truck was very attractive and clean, well stocked with extra toppings, condiments and drinks. They had a line for customers that definitely grew 4 times the size after I got my spot in line!! I have to applaud the efficiency and organization in taking orders, production of food and how quickly they served everyone. I ordered the double smash burger with a side of tater tots (cooked in beef tallow). The burger was hot, generous size and amazing flavor!!! Tater tots were cooked perfectly!!! . We had a fantastic family reunion after 30 years, and the Barbacoa Boyz truly delivered on their promise with an unforgettable meal. The chicken and beef ribs were prepared to perfection--so succulent they reminded us of the massive ribs from the Flintstones! The spread included potato salad, coleslaw, mac and cheese, baked beans, and Hawaiian rolls, all complemented by their delicious barbecue sauce. Every bite was tantalizing, and I have nothing but praise for the food. I do wish I could have taken an extra bottle of their sauce home, but honestly, the ribs were so perfectly cooked that they didn't even need it. The meat fell off the bone, rich with smoke and seasoning. I wouldn't recommend counting kids in the ribs, though--they're just too big. Consider another option for the little ones. They were so nice and better than on time they were before time by 30mins. I will definitely use them again if in the area for a special event. Such an average if not below average experience. Pulled pork seems like it is warmed up aluminum pan bought from costco. No spice, no flavor. They simply throw some BBQ sauce on some dry meat. Smash burgers are similar. Overbooked meat with no flavor. They audastidly toss plastic wrapped cheese on the burger to call it a cheeseburger. They should pay folks to eat their food instead in the other way around. How places like this stay in business is beyond my pallets comprehension. read more

BARBACOA BOYS FOR THE WIN!! Had them at the bbq and bacon fest in st Pete and I was no disappointed. The pork belly burnt ends we're a first for me and I didn't know what to expect really. They weren't even burnt, they were moist and soft but still had a bit of a chew to them. Glazed with some magic sauce that made me shake what my momma gave me. When you do a lot of corporate lunches, it's always surprising when a place knocks you down with what they bring at the moment of truth. Jay hit every shot out of the park: On time--Yes! (We have 3 buffets in 2 buildings--timing is everything) Food organized and well marked--Yes! (Keeping the food organized is key) Food amounts: Perfect amount of food for our tricky lunch paradigm. Magic--Yes! This is where things got really good: Jay brought extra pans to put on each item because he brought the food we ordered for 400 people in his smoker to keep things hot! Brilliant food hack! The food was PIPING hot as a result. He also brought us Hawaiian Rolls and sliced pickles as extra. Nice touch--very unexpected and it made the exchange feel like more than just another lunch. Jay had thought this out and it showed. We felt very special, which sounds hokey, but it's true. And last, that Brisket was FANTASTIC! Not great, not very good, FANTASTIC. That Brisket that makes you realize you've never really had Brisket before--because all other brisket is just a bad 3D printing of Barbacoa Boyz's Brisket! And last, for real, within every side item (we had the baked beans and Mexican Street Corn) you can taste the love. This entire meal reminded me of family BBQ's--but waaay better! We had Barbacoa Boyz cater our large corporate lunch for 400 plus employees. There are many moving parts and details that go into hosting a lunch of this size - as we have multiple buffets on multiple floors. We are very specific on how our order is to be separated out per floor and quantity. To say the least- this was hands down the best service we have ever received from a vendor. Seamless service top to bottom from taking the order- to delivering piping hot food- to execution- flawless!!! The food was impeccable! We had brisket - chicken- elote salad and baked beans- they even brought Hawaiian rolls, pickles and accommodated all the BBQ sauce on the side! Brisket literally melted in your mouth with the perfect amount of smoke bark in the outside. Chicken was literally dripping of juice it was so moist and flavorful! The elote salad was warm and beyond delightful and flavor packed. The beans were a variety and cooked to perfection in delicious sauce! Nothing comes close! I know they are the The Barbacoa Boyz but if you like chicken, then you MUST have the chicken. It is phenomenal. This is the type of food you think about for days after you've had it. I literally couldn't stop thinking about it and even had my wife try to replicate it for me at home. It's not the same... The Barbacoa Boyz were smokin meats with Bartz Barbecue at the recent LA Underground Barbecue Festival. They were responsible for the brisket and the pulled pork, and both were absolutely divine. I assume that the "barbacoa brisket" is so named because of the spice rub. Ultimately, you get a well seasoned tender slice of brisket with just the right amount of fat cap. The pulled pork is a classic preparation without being overly greasy. It was super tender with lots of texture, including some of the "edge" bits.
