This is a follow-up to my original 2013 review of Jayne Bunce Interiors. As is often the case with mid-century ranch homes, remodeling happens in phases.
We first worked with Jayne in 2006, tackling the big stuff: kitchen, dining room, living room, guest bath, and flooring throughout. After that, we had a long break from remodeling -- until 2023, when life threw us a surprise: our 27-year-old daughter moved back home to change career paths and join the family business. After four years of living independently, she needed a space with real privacy. And of course, our first call was to Jayne.
Just like back in 2006, Jayne came in with a coordinated, well-organized plan of attack. She brought in a fantastic general contracting team -- Anthony Keys and Mike Guzman (you can read our separate review of Keys Construction here on Yelp) -- and the whole experience was once again seamless and rewarding.
Over time, you learn what your strengths and weaknesses are as a homeowner. For me, it's clear: architectural design, colors, fabrics, and making it all flow together are not my strengths. But they are Jayne's. She's licensed to create architectural drawings and genuinely loves diving into the details of stone, paint, flooring, carpet, and furniture. Her sense of coordination and texture is exceptional.
Since we met Jayne in 2006, we haven't made a single design decision without her -- including big ones like exterior house paint (one of the hardest decisions to get right!). Jayne makes even that fun -- she shows up with a giant box of paint swatches and somehow gets you to enjoy the process.
In this recent phase, we remodeled and refreshed three bedrooms, one bathroom, my office and a completely dilapidated screened-in porch. We think (fingers crossed!) that we might finally be done now -- and we're so grateful Jayne was with us for every step of the journey.
