As the maxim goes, first impression is lasting. I called the company to inquire about their services, as we have a house in Wilmington, NC that needs some bug control before we rent it out. However, the lady that answered the phone was not helpful and accommodating as I expected. Having her make a comment too that she could not understand me because of my accent (her main reason). I was surprised, as I haven't had any problems with anyone that I talked to for the past 50+ years of being in this country. Afterall, I used to work with a big newspaper company, and several hotels at the front desk. This experience I think, is more than enough for me to polish my accent a little bit. I love accents. I think it's beautiful and it makes this world interesting. The lady that answered the phone has an accent, and I just have to request her to repeat what she said if i did not understand her very well. No pun intended. I called another bug/exterminator company. We understood each other pretty well (I asked him to be truthful if I speak and communicate clearly or not because of my accent), and he did not have any problems with my way of speaking the English language. He was nice, courteous, helpful and accommodating. His company got my business. read more

I have a problem in my home that no one can solve. Jay Taylor was the third exterminator company I've had out. Mr. Taylor was very professional and genuinely worked with us to try and solve the problem. He did a thorough inspection and considered problems the other company reps didn't even think of. Though Mr. Taylor couldn't solve the problem, he did reassure us we didn't have mold or any number of other destructive pests. He also suggested some next steps for us to take. read more

The front office lady tells everyone's business. Told myself and others that Chop's deli (one of our favorite places) has pest problems so bad they can't be helped. Told us about another business having chronic German roaches. I don't think that's cool at all. I know there is no HIPAA style confidentiality agreements in this business, but all of this talking was done in bad taste. The service people were great. Seemed very nice and knowledgeable. We had seen some small roaches at our shop. We were sprayed twice. Still saw them. We then called another service. We have not seen bugs again. One star for having the phone lady run her mouth. I hired this company to protect my house from termites. A few months after they drilled and sprayed my foundation I had termite tunnels showing up on my ceiling corner in my kitchen 8 feet up the wall. The local manager came out and determined the cause was the angle at which the foundation was drilled. The chemical was not released in a way that protected my house stating the tech sent was not as experienced. The initial treatment was drilled so the chemical was released under the house rather than into the foundation void where it would have been effective in keeping termites from reaching the structural wood. The manager then sprayed more chemical at the correct angle into the foundation where the termites were found and left. I was expecting to be contacted about the termite damage by them soon after but no. They never looked to see what was done under the siding. I told the manager I took the siding off and found dirt tunnels between the plywood while he was filling the missed area in my foundation. He seemed alarmed but nothing else was said. The next contact was 7 or so months later when I got an auto bill saying it was time to pay for the following year. I sent a message through the website asking why is my next form of contact a bill? The receptionist said, "all I can tell you is your contract was canceled. You no longer have service with us. Jay is not available. It says on the computer he responded to your email". I didn't get the response and now after I'm told you are responsible for my house having termites by your local manager you cancel me? What about the damage to my house Jay? You could have at least offered a free renewal or ... SOMETHING!? Update: Jay resent the email. He crocheted his words and redirected the responsibility on me saying he's not responsible for the termite damage because his contract includes a waver section stating his company is not responsible for damage if you are infested with termites while under contract. He only has to retreat and he's free of liability. The guy who did the retreat I know personally. He told me the truth regarding why I had termites. This on is definitely on Jay. Jay's response appeared to be mostly a copy and paste damage control response stating his employees are well seasoned referencing policies as to why he will be doing nothing as my account is now terminated. I hired this company because I had a friend that works there. He left the company and this is the service I get now. Bottom line, if you care about your home DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Conclusion: I hired a company to protect my house from termites. They failed and are willing to do nothing to make up for it. read more

Matt the bug guy is cool. The company and admins suck. Emergency? HA! Good luck having them show up within a week. They NEVER EVER bendover backwards for their customers. They are a HORRIBLE administrative assistants too! Super NOT flexible and super AGGRESSIVE when you attempt to get them to come earlier than planned. Just all around a shitty company. We're definitely a number. Too bad I can't just work with Matt. Oh well, onto Terminex. read more

We signed a new quarterly contract and downloaded the $50 off coupon for new contracts from their website. We were told by the salesman that the $50 off was over the course of the year and each quarterly payment for the first year would be reduced to reflect that savings. When we got our first service and first bill, the bill was for the whole quarterly amount. When I called Jay Taylor, I was told that we were given a special price for the service and that we were not eligible for the $50 coupon. When I told the person answering the phone that that was not what the salesman had told us, she said I would have to talk to the salesman and transferred me. I left the salesman a voice mail and got a call back from him this morning. He had talked to his boss and they are honoring the $50 coupon. Kudos Jay Taylor! read more
