I booked a skiing/stay package but my family and I were tested positive for COVID19. I requested for a refund or transfer my paid deposit to another date but was denied. I thought I was doing the responsible thing and instead the reservation folks encouraged me to show up any way. I'm a frequent and loyal customer but I will not be returning to this resort. I continue to find this resort to be very inflexible, now socially irresponsible. It is all about making profit and they have no regards whatsoever for its clients. read more

Came during Thanksgiving holiday, weather changes which isn't anyone's fault, rained instead of snowed opening day to Saturday, false website information saying that they will have 2 lifts opened, the "Translide" and the "Jet Triple Chair", unfortunately only 1 lift out of 81 tails was opened. Very disappointed that the whole Translide area is all closed off. The "Jet" diamond trail which is the most difficult is only for the advance, there are moulds and tons of individuals falling constantly or getting hurt. There are also tons of teenagers racing down the trail which was irritating. Jay Peak is a must if you want to "Ski the East." It's a hike from Boston - 4 hours - and practically in Canada. The upside is that Jay Peak offers plenty of trails and a 2,000 vertical drop. The terrain is varied from beginner to expert, and quite honestly, the terrain off the ridge is out of my league. However, there is plenty more to challenge the advanced / expert skier including accessible glades and long mogul runs like JFK (which, ironically, has thin cover). One note I find odd: that they do not differentiate between advanced and expert terrain (e.g, no Double Diamond trails at Jay). I suppose if it sounds scary or if you have to ask then don't bother! The only downside besides cold weather and distance from my home (oh well) is the tram. On paper, it's very impressive! 6.5 min to the top - wow! In practice, you will wait 30-60 min for this tram on the weekend. So my advice is to lap the high speed quad until you get bored, then move over to Bonaventure Quad and Jet triple. Take the Tram once if the weather is clear because it is very scenic. Or go ahead and lap it if you absolutely need to access the ridge line trails because you're hard core. I don't see the point - it's only another 300' vertical feet (I think!). If you hike up the ridge from the top of the tram to ski the rocks, I think you should say "Taste death, live life" like the deranged dude in Ski Patrol before you plunge over the side. Wind-surfer and bipolar ear-muffs are optional. On Saturday the weather was warm (above freezing) but the lines were long and the High Speed quad broke for a bit. Oh well. On Sunday, it was very chilly and there was almost no line on the quad (sadly, I was spent and cold so I only skied 7 runs). When our day was over, we grabbed lunch at Mountain Dicks. It was OK, but I wouldn't drive 4 hrs for Mountain Dicks (maybe you did!) Afterward, we went to look at the large indoor water park. It looks fun! read more

We had a great weekend at Jay Peak Resorts. We were disappointed that we could not ski on Saturday due to high winds and that the Tram was not open at all due to the winds. However, we understand that you cannot control Mother Nature. The glades were just amazing. We were happy to have other activities to do including the water park, climbing, ice skating and the movies. Also, having great restaurants on site was so convenient. Everyone - all staff and the locals were so friendly and truly hospitable. A special shout out to Nick at the Boneventure lift who helped my daughter get her ski back on when it fell off and Oakley, our waiter at the Tower Bar. Thank you Jay! read more

We have stayed here many times in both condos and hotel. There is plenty to do for people of all ages. We have always lucked out with skiing - many powder days at Jay for us. The Pump House waterpark is fun. You don' need to by a pass to just watch. The surfing is always entertaining to watch. Arcade is a great spot to spend some time. Games are $1 to $2 a game. Lots to do. Food - this is not great. All restaurants food is just ok to terrible and pricey! Portions are big but the food quality is really bad. read more

4 stars out of 5 for: - family friendly - can be a wedding venue - take the tram ride all the way to the top ($15USD return trip for adults; it's approx 7-8 mins ride; the tram comes every half hour & on the hour); from 4,000 feet you'll have a breathtaking view of the area - very beautiful view with the fall colours around this time of the year (early October); bring a sweater bec it can get very windy and cold at the top - we did not take the tram back down; instead, we hiked down & it took us approx. 1 hour & half; take the path coloured brown on the signs - it's the 'easiest' trail down the mountain - the resort has a General Store that offers a lot of things of convenience from a deli, wines & beers, bread, snacks, souvenirs; this is also where you buy your tram tickets - eat at the Golf Course Club House Restaurant (depending on the season, this place may be open every day or only on the weekends) - With the Jay's Peak Hotel, there's a huge indoor waterslide + surfing contraption (but we did not get to try it); there's also a swim/surf shop should you forget your swimming / water-sports gear; there's a bar right above it that also offers drinks & snack foods if you don't want to go in the water; - there's an ice rink (but we did not get to try it) - this place is approx 1 hour and half away to the Ben & Jerry's Famous Ice Cream (factory) - if you're Canadian, this is close to the president province of Quebec; so close that the resort accepts Canadian dollars (they post they exchange rate) read more

Awful customer service about changing hotel stay and days! NOT ACCOMODATING at ALL! Will never go back!

I was blown away. Definitely my new favorite for east-coast skiing in the states. If you're into trees and glades this is even comparable to colorado. Prices are steeper than the mountain at the window but a little planning ahead will find you great rates online or via your lodging. Scenery was spectacular, I really don't think anything east of the rockies could begin to compare on that front and i can think of plently of colorado resorts that are not nearly this beautiful. Stepping off the tram is awesome in the most literal sense. On a clear day people couldn't help but stop in their tracks and stare...it would have felt rude but all 50 or so of us did the same thing...you sort of just need to pause and take-it-in before moving on and out of the way of the crowd trying to unload. I was also impressed by normal lifts, most of them high speed with friendly efficient employees managing them. The best part is the glades! Endless routes through thick Forrest but I was enthralled by how easy it was to navigate. Obviously you must be prepared and skilled enough to dodged the occasional rock or down log, but it was magical. Follow a path or grab the untouched pow! wander left, wander right! you won't get lost because eventually you will hit some orange flags and a narrow shallow path to lead back to a blue slope. It gives you this wonderful sense of adventure and back country exploration without all of the extra risk and effort of hiking. something about the trees there just makes it really doable. i was never worried about scratching up my nice skis. Even if you don't dig the glades there are tons of great runs that I found way better than other other resorts (cough killington) Anyway dont come here. this place is mine. I called dibs. i can see it getting crowded during peak season but they are working on some major expansions that would make this place absolutely enormous. like...bring a set of walkie-talkies enormous Great brews at the bars for ~$7 a pint! read more

I want to like this place so much but I can't. We were visiting the resort for a hockey tournament over Christmas break. The customer service was very, very poor. It's been years and years since we skied at Jay Peak. We'd heard good things about the water park and were looking forward to the trip. We thought it would be similar to the Sugarbush changes, if not even better. But it was so much worse. Check-in was supposed to be 5pm but we didn't get into our room until after 9. They eventually comped the water-park passes for that day but considering we weren't even using them I felt they should have done more. We stayed in a two-bedroom condo by the golf course. The condo was very nice but the beds were awful. There are six of us and no one slept well during our stay because the beds were that bad. We even took a mattress off the pull-out couch and put it in the floor to no avail. There are zero amenities in the condos. No maid service, no soap. Nothing. You have to drive to the main resort for everything. I expected that a pretty resort that hosts some of the best skiing in New England and hockey tournaments every weekend would be experienced with large groups. However everywhere we went we were treated rudely as if we were putting out the staff. The people at the water-park couldn't be bothered to be helpful or even remotely gracious with towels. They acted as if they had had nothing but exasperating customers all day and were taking it out on everyone who came along next. - We were told we couldn't play knee-hockey in a room we rented to play knee-hockey in. - A bartender in the room we rented was rude to everyone and then started screaming at everyone that she'd had enough and for us to get out and that we'd overstayed our rental. (It was 8:35, our rental was through 8:30; no last call was ever made.) We went to the Foundry to eat and asked if we could be seated near our friends. The hostess was unsmiling and cross and told us that we couldn't. The alternative was for us to leave and she was clearly frustrated and said she'd have to ask her manager. Once this was approved the servers were panicking about our large group. They refused to place individual orders for the sake of splitting our check easier. We could have potentially gotten over this if the food had been any good but it was typical hotel-restaurant food and after two-days of mediocre meals we resorted to buying/making our own. I would not recommend using vacation time or vacation funds to go to Jay Peak. My kids think the water park at Great Wolf Lodge is better (I don't, but I wasn't using it like they were) and we think Sugarbush is a nicer resort so it's not likely we'd chose to return to the Jay Peak resort. read more

I've been coming here with my family for 10+ years. Long story short (if you don't want to read the full review) the mountain & waterpark are awesome but the customer service and staff is lacking (& we experience this year after year). Only thing that has us coming back is the mountain. My family is a group of advanced skiers. From bumps to trees to vertical drops, jay has it. One of the most challenging mountains in the north east, coming from someone who's been a season pass holder at Stowe for many years. What Jay lacks, is their customer service. I work in the hospitality and customer service industry. I get annoyed with guests time to time, believe me I know how it feels to work a 15 hour shift but still have to slap on a smile and have a positive attitude for the guests. But year after year we always encounter a negative customer service experience. I'm not one to complain, since I work in the industry myself, I always give the employees the benefit of the doubt. But what we've encountered is just inexcusable, belittling and just upright unpleasant. Which is extremely disappointing since we love the mountain and its amenities. Being told "I've been here for five years and I've never heard of that," getting screamed and cursed at by the bus driver who literally got out of the bus to yell at us because we were loading our vehicle (he had an empty bus with no one on it and we were not blocking his way). After my father brought this to managements attention, George Garcia, the bus driver had to apologize to us in the front foyer (as told by his boss). When having a concern, it was never framed apologetically, as it should be in customer service. No one is on the same page and getting different answers is frustrating. The service industry motto "the customer is always right" is just no existent here (I get it sometimes they're not right, but you always treat the customer with respect since we're paying to stay). Coming here year after year, spending over 15k for a weekend (2 night stay) for 3 people, you expect for the customer service to be top notch. We would love to continue to come here but something needs to be done about the customer service here (maybe a training program). Not sure if this is a management issue or what but the customer service is unacceptable. We have dealt with a few staff members who are extremely pleasant, such as Shamus & Abby(bell man). He's the most spirited, friendly person I've ever met. Always has a smile on and I wish his coworkers were all like him. Staff on the mountain, lift guys and girls, are also awesome. The issue just seems to be with the hotel staff. Hope to keep enjoying are time here and hope something changes with the service here. It's really just too bad. read more

We spent MLK weekend here after a major snowstorm. You can imagine how good the skiing was! Everyone was very friendly, from the parking attendants to customer service to the lift people. There were multiple restaurants to choose from for lunch, and it looks like there were other amenities if you stay at the resort. Apparently there's a water park at the tram side lodge. The lift lines were very fast and we didn't have to wait long..Except for the tram line... this was a bit slow and we only went on it once. We LOVED the glades trails on these mountains. My bf was trying some diamond ones, and they even had blue glade trails, which was awesome. I have never really done that before so it was a cool experience for me--I think that may have been my favorite part of our trip! No pictures of the resort unfortunately this time...it was negative temperature the entire time lol so exactly the best selfie taking weather! read more

I'm from Toronto and have been going to Jay for the last 7 years. If you're going on a ski trip, there are a lot of reasons to come here. Pros: -Only 1 hr further compared to Tremblant. -Generally not busy and substantial vertical and terrain. -Huge indoor waterpark. -Pre-book and they'll accept CAD 1:1 to USD in some instances. -Tons of glade skiing and more expert terrain. -Typically not as cold and better snow. Cons: -Resort facilities are still lacking - no village, few restaurants, not much to do other than ski. -No nightlife. Be prepared to entertain yourselves! -Windy AF. -Ancient slow lifts. I'll keep coming back to Jay. It's about as good as you can get on the east coast without having to drive 8+ hours from Toronto. Pro-tip: the green flyer side (east) is an aforementioned WINDY AF. I only ride this lift on bluebird days as I've feared my life on it when it's windy. With that said, the west side (jet triple chair) tends to have more snow as it's somewhat shielded from the wind. read more

We stayed in a 2 bedroom at the Timberline cottages. It was spacious. Top floor had a king bed (although we had asked them for a split configuration--having said that, we called once we got to the room and noticed and a few minutes later two men came to the room to care of it). Main floor had a bathroom, kitchen, living room and back deck and then bottom floor also had a deck, bedroom, bathroom and separate laundry room. It was a nice place and area but we would give it 2 stars in terms of getting what you pay for. It included pots and pans, etc. Usually these types of spaces include all the basics, like cooking spray for example, but not here. No shampoo or conditioner and they forgot bars of soap and we had to ask for a spatula. I sound nitpicky but at the price you pay, I would have expected more. We checked in on Thursday and left today (Sunday). Not once did anyone come to clean our place or change our sheets. Supposedly they were supposed to come do this on Saturday but it didn't happen though we were told they would. The cleanliness of the room to start was mediocre. When we went to bed there were long black hairs in the sheets.. Let's talk about the free shuttle..had to call twice every time we used it because it went past us BOTH times. Some of the drivers need to get spoken to. We ended up just driving ourselves because we didnt want to deal with it anymore. It is a 4 star place. Obviously there is nothing else up there and so things are pricey! Front desk people were helpful, super friendly and courteous. We opted for the package that included water park access and the kids loved it. Giving it an overall 3 stars. read more

My family has been coming to Jay now for about 20 years. This resort has evolved from a rustic winter destination into a sizable four-season resort that includes a waterpark, championship golf course, ice arena, adventure facility, and numerous restaurants/bars. Any season is a good season to enjoy the amenities. For the winter, you absolutely cannot beat this place if you like glade skiing or backcountry. I'd say a good 30% of the trails are challenging wooded runs with many more ungroomed expert options in the open. There are still plenty of beginner runs for the more inexperienced type but Jay Peak beats any of the neighboring mountains for their quality/quantity of glades. In addition, every year this place seemingly lands the highest snowfall totals of the New England mountains (so they claim) which frequently results in Jay having better conditions than the competition. For the Summer, the Jay Peak Championship Golf Course is criminally underrated. It is a quintessential mountain course that has many holes boasting scenic mountain views along with unobstructed vistas of farmland in the foothills. Each hole is uniquely different and laid out with often great distances between green/next tee box. The course is challenging with a 138 slope from the tips so expect to lose many balls over the course of your round! My one critique of the place is the dining options. The service has always been fine but I'm typically never impressed with the variety and flavor of the dishes offered. I would say the Foundry is the best of the bunch followed by the new "bull wheel" bar over on the left side of the resort (stateside). read more

We are writing this because of our overall negative experience that our group endured at Jay Peak Resort during a ski trip from Sunday February 20th through Thursday February 24th, 2022. As I have skied Jay a few times and have always enjoyed the varying terrain and glades. So this was a ski trip that we had planned many weeks in advance. As of our first day Skiing Jay, Monday February 21st, 2022 we experienced decent but not terrible conditions and had a reasonable all mountain (almost) access. Overall a pretty good day. That would not last as conditions were awful as of our second day of our three day ski trip to Jay. As of Tuesday 2/22/2022 only "one" lift on Stateside was operating thus eliminating any full or even partial mountain skiing experience. We were only able to complete one run and tried to salvage our day by trying unsuccessfully to obtain "rain check" vouchers for possible future dates instead of enduring overcrowding and terrible conditions. Jay Peak Customer service were dismissive, rude and treated us like second class citizens regardless of our legitimate complaints! We understand that any ski mountain cannot control the weather and ski conditions will vary from great to garbage. The mountain can however offer good customer service and train there staff accordingly! I will try to remain loyal to Jay Peak despite the disgusting treatment we received. There overall bad customer service experience is going to be etched in stone in our minds forever. Reduce your expectations to "zero" from Jay Peak Customer service and you won't be disappointed if you do ski here. read more

I want to love it here. I really do. But. I don't. Outside of Mother Nature not being kind, I found this resort to be skimpy on accommodations, portion sizes, drinks. Overpriced for amenities such as lockers for the water park, provide zero toiletries for the condos, and zero Sand or salt for the ice storm we had which created a hazard. The employees do not seem overly happy and complained a bit as well. Overall this is a far drive and I'm convinced we can find better. Again. I wanted to love it. I don't think you're going to get better on the east coast then Jay Peak. With that, this place is pretty old school in a good way, has great snow and is pretty much in the middle of no where, which by my definition is five stars for a ski resort. I was lucky enough to get amazing snow the first day I was at Jay and conditions were reminiscent of Colorado. Powder, powder and more powder. Lines? Not bad. I was there this past President's Day weekend and although it is the busiest time of year for all ski resorts, the wait was at a minimum. Old School not only means this is a small community of friendly and warm people, but it also means prices are affordable both for lodging and food (see reviews of Stateside Lodge and Howie's). Oh, since we're so close to the Quebec border, French is pretty much everywhere as well making me feel almost as if I were much farther than the 8 hour trip from Jersey. With all rentals a 2 hour group lesson is provided. What a great option. I was able to get my snowboarding mojo back with some really kind and helpful instructors. What I loved most about Jay is the variable of trails. I was on the bunny hill helping the man learn to ride to going through some crazy trees with my instructor to a super fun trail through some trees perfect for being a lil' adventurous to just some really nice groomed trails. There is literally something for everyone and snow for all. The kicker? I ended up chatting up people on the chair lift and went over to a friends house one night with about 20 people who all live locally and everyone was super friendly, super welcoming and all praised the mountain, the community and all that comes with it. If you're not looking for fancy restaurants, a hopping bar scene with a crazy town nightlife, but more for a chill experience with a great vibe & awesome snow, Jay Peak's a great option. read more

Located about two hours from Montreal skiers and non-skiers alike can come enjoy themselves at Jay Peak. The ski resort also features an indoor water park and skating rink so this is why you can still have fun even if you don't ski. I only skied so I will be reviewing Jay for its quality as a ski hill. There are 78 runs in total here and on the particular Saturday I came they were all opened but conditions were insanely icy so I avoided some since they were basically downhill skating rinks. I have to say they should have probably closed some since there were large areas of sheet ice and exposed rock but I'm guessing they want to be able to brag that everything is open? Only a small number of them are greens with the rest being blues and blacks so it is best to come here when you have some experience. For those of you who love skiing glades there are plenty of those here. The only way to access the summit is from the tram. It has crazy, long lines but if it's a sunny clear day you should try it once just for the excellent views. The other lifts do get quite crowded, especially the Flyer Quad but the waits aren't as bad as they are for the tram. I found the Bonaventure Quad lead to some of my favourite skiing and I never had to wait too long. Here I was able to find some nice blues that were really pleasant to ski. On a nice day you can expect it to be crowded which means at some points you will be playing dodge the skier (or snowboarder). I also have to say that I agree with Joe F.'s review about how people were rather inconsiderate of their fellow boarders and skiers. On my first run of the day I got hit from behind by another skier which ended up taking me down. I wasn't hurt but I don't appreciate being tackled. I also got cut off a few times the rest of the day. When lunchtime rolls around you have plenty of options at your disposal since the resort is very well developed. We wound up eating in the stateside cafeteria which was okay. The choices were kind of limited but they did serve up chili in a bread bowl which was a great way to warm up and refuel for the afternoon of skiing ahead of me. You will also have your choice of bars when aprés ski time rolls around. We grabbed a quick drink the Foundry Pub and Grill and it was reasonably priced and much less crowded than the other bar on the tramside. For all the Canadians reading this who have been hesitant to come to Jay this year because of our under-performing dollar you can buy a heavily discounted ticket at expresstours.ca. Here you pay $54 CAD as opposed to the $79 USD you will pay if you buy directly at the hill. It's your best deal by a long shot and it allows you to still enjoy Jay Peak while not shelling out a fortune due to our weak currency. Another option is that if you pay cash for your lift ticket they will convert it at par which is very generous of them. Everywhere else on the resort the usual exchange rate applies. I think I would certainly be inclined to come back to Jay and ski it in better conditions and also check out the waterpark. This winter has been so unseasonably warm that many ski resorts out east are suffering from the same problem of being too icy. It does have good skiing but perhaps it would be more enjoyable when there is more powder and less people. read more

Jay Peak is probably my favorite mountain in the East Coast. It's so far up north that when I reached the base, my phone said "Welcome to Canada, roaming charges may apply." As painful as the 7 hr. bus ride from NYC was, the mountain makes up for it. They have lots of intermediate to advanced trails, which is great for me since that's the level I am at. Here are some useful tips for when you're here: 1) Avoid the tram. There are only two of them running and you could waste a lot of time waiting. Most of the trails that are accessible by the tram can also be accessed by the Flyer Express Quad ("FEQ"). 2) It gets really windy in the higher parts of the mountain especially in the FEQ. It was 40 degrees at the base when we went but windy and chilly in the FEQ. In general, Jay Peak is known for its powerful winds. 3) Avoid the lower part of Ullr's Dream. It's way too flat for too long. Instead duck into Kokomo, a nice beginner's glade area - which brings me to my next point. 4) There are loads of glades at Jay Peak for different skill levels. As a snow boarder who isn't comfortable riding switch, it's a little tough for me to do glades but I still had fun. This is a great mountain to improve your skills on the glades. 5) If you are taking the Jet Triple Chair lift to explore the west side of the mountain (which you should), then watch your head. There is a good chance the lift operator will push down the handle bar onto your head. He might have cracked by skull if I didn't have an helmet on and I saw it happen to others as well. 6) Order a UFO at the Tower Bar to relax. It's an unfiltered wheat bear served with a slice of orange and a great way to end the day. Beers are $4.75 which is a good price if you are from NYC. Food at the Tower Bar isn't bad either. I liked my fish n chips with some malt vinegar thrown in. 7) Be nice to the French Canadians. Seriously. There are lots of them so be a good neighbor. We stayed some 20 miles away from the mountain so I can't comment on the mountainside lodging but they do have an indoor water park, an ice skating arena and a spa so there are plenty of activities available. Hopefully I can go back next year and explore more. read more

We were here for Dec 31st 2016 thru Jan 3rd 2017 so it was busy but very manageable on the mountain. Greatt mountain lots of runs and short lift lines. Condos were over priced where we stayed. $500/night for a 2 bedroom basic condo. 1 parking spot only, really? No shampoo or soap, come on? Went for a few days over school break so we knew it would be crowded. The water park was madness. So many people, tons of unattended kids and dirty. Wet food on the ground, used towels lying around. The hot tub had leaves floating in it. Just kinda gross. 2 of my kids came down with a stomach bug as soon as we got home and I'm sure it's from there. our accommodation was nice, trackside cottage. There was a mysterious long black hair in the bathtub when we arrived. No frying pan in the kitchen which I wished I noticed before buying stuff to make grilled cheese. Highlight of our trip was a Nordic ski lesson with Bill. He was great. my takeaway? Don't go on a winter break week and/or steer clear of the scuzzy water park. Beautiful location. read more

A little over $60 bucks got me a lift ticket, 2 hour lesson, and all my gear (board, bindings, & boots). Ian, was the instructor, went over the basics, offered feedback. There were only about 4 of us in the morning class, so we made good use of the 2 hours. I pretty much had zero experience on a board before this class. I did have an unsuccessful snowboarding trip 11 years ago, but that was like 3 hours on a mountain with the hardest thing I did was stand up on the board with both my feet locked in. This time however, I was determined to make it a successful trip, and with the help of Ian, after the first class I was turning via toe side and heel side. I found out you can add an afternoon lesson for 20 bucks. I thought, well heck, it's worth it. I didn't want to be doing J turns all afternoon. So, in the afternoon working w/ Ian, I switched my stance to goofy, got toe side and heel side j turns down... then began traversing and garlands. I only got a couple tries of the toe side traversing on the magic carpet area, it was kind of crowded, but I was able to show that I could link my turns. At this point the day was over, I was wicked close to being a 'beginner' snowboarder. Good thing I was here for two days! The next day, I set out to get down traversing. unfortunately I ran into a school that was there on a ski trip to learn... this made the familiar training grounds not so fun to play around in. Skiiers like to go straight down the mountain, I'm at a point where I like to go side to side down a mountain... It's the origin of the conflict between the two. So I sent up a flare (text message) to my friends (Cory H. & Cread) and gave in to their encouragement to try out the lift and 'green trail'. (Yes Jay has 3G on AT&T) So feeling good with heel side, and toe side, I set up to a real slope. Chair lift was not painful, I fell, but I didn't get whipped into and I didn't get flung out of the chair. I just wasn't used to that steep of a slope. I was able to do two runs down the 'Interstate' with the encouragement and feedback of Cory (and Cread). 2 days at Jay and I went from a Newb to a beginner... and hardly hurt myself! Their prices are fair, and 82 bucks the first day for gear and 4 hours of lessons, 85 for the second day for gear, lift ticket, and helmet. The experience and fun is priceless. A great mountain to learn at. I hope to go back.... with my own board....! read more

Amazing, huge, and challenging mountain! Jay has lots of great, well groomed trails that will keep you excited and challenged all day long. For the record: the blue trails at Jay are like black trails at other New England mountains. With that said, it was not a big surprise that I had a few yard sales on my first run. The staff was very friendly, the lines moved quickly, the lodge was huge and packed (as expected) and the tickets are very reasonable given the amount of lifts and trails. I fell: on my ass, on my face, on my elbows, on my bubies. i turned my legs all sorts of ways AND managed to get binged in the butt by some dude on skis because i FELL OFF THE CHAIR LIFT. I might not have a future in winter sports...but man, Jay Peak was a nice intro. Ticketing was easy, rental gear, also easy...getting back down off the intermediate/advanced slope when your friend tells you "oh no, this is the bunny slope where I learned to board"...not as easy, but hey, what the hell. Lunch was also a very good time, and there wasn't a whole lot of ski bum attitude here either. Points for that. Will I ever return to ride the white lightning again? Perhaps.. Here from Thursday-Sunday just before Ontario March break. First time at Jay and the terrain lived up to what I have heard from friends for years - great glades. Unfortunately there hasn't been much snow fall lately, conditions are good but not much fresh stuff in the trees. Had a beauty blue bird yesterday and would imagine that if they received a healthy dump of snow I could spend all day in the trees! Best runs were far left off the triple or far right quad in the trees. Avoid the tram once you've been up to see the view, or conditions are good enough to hit the chutes - quaint but slow and dated way to get up. Enjoy! read more

I have stayed at Jay Peak a couple of times but this last trip unfortunately wasn't worth the Drive from Boston . Our stay was 9/28- 10/1 2023 . We had a 1 bedroom condo which was dirty to say the least . The kitchen floor had popcorn and snacks all over and looks like it hadnt been swept in a while . The pull out couches linings had Hair all over it . The Pillow cases had drool stains on them. On Friday night a group of us (20) people went to eat at the Club House Grille . The meal was excellent. There was no issues seating us at 3 different tables and the place was pretty busy . On Saturday my son wanted a nice Sit down meal so we returned at to the Club House . It was roughly at 7pm when we arrived earlier than we did the evening before. As we waited to be seated a Waitress said only 2 someone will seat you in a minute. I noticed the restaurant wasnt as crowed as the night before. A woman who was the hostess came over after a few minutes asked how many of us . I said 2 she looked at me and said sorry we arent taking walk ins tonight .At first I thought she was joking by the way she said it. I said seriously and she said yes. I asked where should we go and eat because it is very limited up there . She said why don't you try the pizza place. Unfortunately that was our only choice, the pizza was about a 6 out of 10. A Step above Cumbys gas station pizza. I wouldnt have upset for not the incident earlier at breakfast at the Foundry Bar and Grille ... We entered at 1030 and as we were being seated the table next to us put in a breakfast order. Our waitress informed us me missed breakfast but if we wanted to wait til 11 we could order lunch . But if we really wanted breakfast we should go next door to the general store and buy an Egg Sandwich. Are you kidding me ... We waited til 11 no drinks or anything . Son ordered a burger, I a greek wedge with chicken . I got a Caesar with chicken which wasnt bad the burger was good .. Jay Peak Resort seems like they don't care to make their guests happy anymore. read more

Our family lives for Jay. We have stayed in the slope side condos, the Tram Lodge and the Jay Hotel. All the above Accommodations are beautiful, clean and modern. Love the kitchens and family table and a real fridge in the hotel rooms. Bathrooms are spacious. Bell men are very helpful, especially Dan, who gave me a great tour. My kids love the beds which seem luxurious after a day of skiing. The condo was gorgeous ! Plenty of room. Not like all those other ski condos from the 1970s where you feel crammed in. Every place is ski in ski out!!! I wish I owned one of these condos, I feel like royalty when I stay in one. The food is better than good at the Tower Bar. Love the pulled pork ( I do wish there was a bit more) and the chowder and burger. Asia is an outstanding service person there. Quick and happy to help. Stateside's food and scenery is fun. The Foundry must use the same kitchen because their food is so similar to Tower. Pizza seems to be well liked. I liked the flat bread at the Foundry best. The pump house is a blast. Our kids love it. The whole ace is entertaining. But way to many unsupervised pre-teens in the outdoor hot tub. Indoor hot tub was closed. Just a kind business suggestion: The Tower bar could capitalise on the après ski opportunity. They could do an outdoor bar with music and heaters. Today, there were no tables or chairs and no fire in the tiny fire pits. This place could be a lot of fun. Also, there could be tubbing at night at the base with the magic carpet getting kids up there. These are just a few of my ideas. Love this place and can't wait for my next trip. Next time maybe we will get to visit the new Stateside hotel. read more

Over-priced and under-served the amenities are the reason for even two stars. If you have a 7 year old the waterpark is a blast. Can't say that much for the staff or the resort which needs an upgrade in appearance. Carpeting looked like one too many winters of skiers treading their way on it. The staff looked stressed, obviously underpaid, and took it out on their guests by being rude. Everything on property closes way to early, from the waterpark at 8pm to the restaurant(s) 9pm. Even the pizza parlor closes at 9pm. Miss it by one minute and you're looking at an over one hour drive to find food. They have a little mini grocery store which is way over-priced and you guessed it closes way to early. Yes; understand this is New England but when you trap people on a resort with exaggerated prices in the middle of no where on a summer night you can stay open longer than 9pm. The staff kept saying "if we stay open later we'll get in trouble", which means it's a management problem. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, we're leaving tire tracks behind for the Jay Resort to clean up. read more

Been coming here for years as an annual trip to have some top notch skiing and the mountain is a great fit for that. We were a little disappointed that the Jet lift was down but we understand that happens and is usually out of anyones control. The basis of my review is how much of the resort is closed during the week, and the state of the rooms. Most of the restaurants and things to do are closed mid week. (Like literally there are only 3 options available) None of this was communicated prior to us, so we were grossly underprepared to cook in the room. You're left to scour over the web page to figure out what is available because calling and asking will only get you referred back to the website go figure. The Foundry is a good restaurant with a small menu and the tower bar has an even smaller menu but still good food. It just sucks that literally everything else is closed, not even pizza or Jay2go during the week. And Miso Hungry was only open 1 afternoon we were here. So ok a few options are limited so let's make the most of the water park at night right? Wrong. They close the outside hot tub down around sunset stating they don't have lights outside now?? And then they closed the whole water park an hour early on a Tuesday night. Not to mention, it now opens much later each day. So if you don't ski, or planned a full day at the water park, you're SOL. Ok ok, so let's have a good nights rest and hit the slopes the next day... in comes the worst bed I've ever slept in. The bed has actual divots where the countless bodies have worn the mattress down to a very uncomfortable surface. The pillows are dollar general quality at best. The pullout bed is, well a pull out bed, where the bar digs into your back, but even the murphy bed was uncomfortable. No good nights rest for us. So the moral of this review is go to Jays for the best skiing in the NE, check! Just stay somewhere else if comfort, or other activities, is at all a concern, and be aware you will not get the resort amenities unless it's the weekend I guess. And just in case you think shopping is an option we didn't try... Their system EVERY time we tried to purchase anything froze up and took forever, if at all, to check us out. And the employees here are frustrated by it, understandably so. Oh and Steve don't worry about a response, I think anyone who reads these reviews has already figured out your MO with half sincere concern. You're lucky your employees are pleasant to customers, and for some reason still choose to work for you. I hear Stowe is nice read more

Got here early can't get in until 5pm said they would email us when it was ready didn't. Got to our townhouse one of the toilets was running couldn't get it stopped maintenance guy fixed then discovered the fan in the bathroom downstairs was running will not stop. read more

UNSAFE AND FRAUDULENT We were really looking forward to staying at Jay Peak so what we found when we arrived was a major disappointment. We stayed at the Tram Haus Lodge, which was nice and new but had no staff for our entire stay. When we arrived, we had to go to the hotel next door just to check in. We woke up early the next day to get the most out of the mountain but we finished all of the open trails within about half an hour. The website claimed that 17 trails were open that morning, but most of these trails were actually closed. There were two lifts that went about 1/3 of the way up the mountain and there were probably less than 5 short trails actually open. To call the mountain "open" and take $75 from people claiming it was, is practically fraud. One of the trails that said it was open and appeared to be open at its beginning was actually closed... which only became apparent when you skied down half the trail to see stakes in the ground marking big x's. I wasn't sure if this was just a warning to be careful since the website said the trail was open and the beginning of the trail showed it was open, but once you got close to the x's, there were areas of very deep snow and areas of no snow cover at all that made it very easy to fall and impossible to ski on. I had to hike back up with my skis and go to the hotel to tell the Jay Peak staff about this safety issue and to say that we didn't feel safe skiing here if they couldn't even patrol their extremely few trails. They basically told us that wasn't possible and that their ski patrol checks everything out each morning. We showed them pictures and they became more apologetic and put us in touch with the hospitality guest service manager, who called us 6 hours later and tried to tell us we were probably skiing into a ditch when it was a clearly marked trail with no other way to go. He eventually agreed to give us passes for later in the season (which he never gave us- more on that later) because he and everyone else kept blaming the weather and said it's never this bad. There had been rain about a week ago and it was cold, but I have never seen any other mountain have an issue because of rain that long ago or because of it being as cold as it was. It was clearly just an excuse because they didn't want to make snow and pay staff to run other lifts. Also, the weather is not an excuse to not patrol your trails at all and that was our only actual complaint to him. We stayed for three days and the weather continued to improve but Jay Peak made extremely minimal effort to groom or open more trails. I've never had a more unsatisfactory skiing experience. When we went to get the ski passes that the manager said we could pick up anytime before we checked out, they weren't present and the staff said they didn't know anything about them. I called the manager and wrote him an email but we had to check out several hours later and we heard nothing in that time. I've tried to follow up and he has continued to ignore me. The customer service in the restaurants was good but across the board everywhere else, it was terrible. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE. read more
