It had a truly spectacular view, the breakfasts were delicious, the bed was comfy, the house was cozy and clean, it was a quick drive away from Jay Peak, the price was competitive/low, and the experience was a quaint and vermont-ish as you could hope for. But above all else, the hosts (Carol and Dennis) were fantastic and I got to stay in a B&B on a dairy farm! That meant I got to milk a cow and sample some unadulterated-but-chilled milk for the first time ever. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely stay there again if/when I make it back up that far north. The pictures on the website are nice but being there in person is even better. The owners (Dennis & Carol) are so laid back and friendly. After 10 minutes, I felt like I had known them all my life, like family. Carol cooks up a pure down home fresh, delicious, country breakfast that can't be beat! As the website says, this is a working dairy farm with plenty of cows and they also produce their own awesomely good maple syrup! When I was there, a calf was born! oh so cute. We had a nice sized room in the carriage house which may have been a bit dated but was nice. The lodge itself was very nice, with a rustic feel and great views of the lake. I'm writing this review from my bed early before a day of biking with my son at KFL. What can I say…read more- this place is great. And we found it by accident! My wife found it online the day before we came up on a busy June weekend. The quick rundown is there's a big converted barn where we stayed. The rooms are clean, rustic and charming. The barn lodge was quiet each night while it was clearly a busy weekend. There's also camping allowed on the site, but the vibe is mature and family friendly. Everyone we met was kind and polite to me and my 9 y/o son. There is a separate shared bathroom and shower facility about 30 feet from the barn. While this may not be everyone's thing, the indoor and outdoor showers are all clean, strong and felt wonderful after a day out on the trails. There is a large shared common area with a tv and nice space to read, which doubles as bike storage if you're rolling around on a $10,000 sled. There's also a shared fridge and coffee there in the am. If you're coming up to bike the KTA trails or just enjoy the beauty of the region I can't recommend the farm enough. It may be my regular place to stay for future weekend trips.

Personally, I love that about her and one should seriously consider if slow Wi-Fi is affecting your rating when you are in the midst of history so beautifully preserved and presented if you are really in the right place. If you read this far you don't care if I'm a snob, but outside of the United Kingdom there is not a better high tea available. Put on your best clothes and your best behavior and this will be the closest thing to a safe ride in First Class on the Titanic available in North America- just don't act like you're in steerage class and be grateful that folks like the hostess maintains civility in a age of decadence.
