Check-in at the store where you will find souveniers, cold beverages, firewood, toys, pet supplies…read moreand some food items. Car and RV parking is in front of the building. A gate code is needed to access the campground. We rented a cabin here. There are four. Two of them are 'deluxe' and have indoor cook tops. The others do not allow indoor cooking and have grills outside. The kitchen was very well kitted with everything you could need. The Deluxe cabin we rented was decorated in a cabin style with bear and moose motif items. A table for two in the kitchen, a couch for two or three and a nice rocker. A small desk is in the corner of the livingroom with a kitchen chair for seating. Hooks for coats and a place for shoes by the door. The gas fireplace is shut off in the summer because the pilot heats up the cabin. They are on from Septemer 1st. The bedroom has a queen bed, (linens and blankets provided) full dresser, bedside tables, another kitchen chair (a total of four in the cabin) and luggage rack. Two narrow closets included hangers, extra pillows and towels for the pool or hot tub. Three quarter bath was well maintained. Two bath towels and one hand towel. Hand soap on vanity. Hair dryer and extra TP under sink. Shelves for toiletries. Clothes hook on back of door. Two seats and a table are on the front porch. Our parking space was in front of the porch. A picnic table and firepit are to the right of the porch, at the end of the parking space. Our porch faced the gravel road into the campground. The campground is tiered from the road down to the river with camper spots on each tier. No spots are directly on the river. A field designated as a dog exercise area is next to the river, then a small, rocky beach to the river. The road noise is heard throughout the campground, even at the brook where the river babbles over the stones, which is very pleasant. The onsite store rents tubes for riding the river. A path to the left of the dog area ends where you can put the tube in the water, ride it to the end of the beach and repeat the process. Laundry, public bathrooms and shower bathrooms are in a newer, climate controlled building near the playground. A pass code is needed to enter. Two pools and a hot tub are near the office/store. Mini-golf is behind the store. Dump station on the way out near the dumpsters. Gravel roads are maintained. Some site have full hook-up, fire pit and picnic table. Very pet friendly.

Huge plus if anything gets dirty. The three hot tubs were so nice too, (bring your arm floaties) talk about relaxing........ And a pool, can you ask for anything more? We were there on an off weekend, so no planned activities. Everyone we met was very nice and no judgement. Very rare nowadays! We had our dog with us and everyone was really cool with him (Rottweiler) and he did great. (Sometimes has issues, he's a rescue and was previously abused. Our neighbors were super nice and gave us the layout of the area. If we can get the same spot as seasonal, we will jump on it! And we can let it all hang out!

Dump station on site. Also cabins for rent as well. Owner and other campers were all very nice and welcoming. Dog friendly as well. Community bon fire on weekends. This is there 2nd year in operation so they are still getting things built up and going. Close to RT 16 and I-91.

Amazing campground that has everything you could ever want in a campground…read more Swimming, boat rentals, boat dock and launch (for smaller boats at least), a huge lake to explore, hiking trails that go through an abandoned village, brand new bathrooms and showers, and lots of education programming for kids. We rented the…read moreBalsam Fir cabin which is located right next to First Connecticut Lake (see picture) and were not disappointed. The view was amazing. The cabin was very clean with a spacious kitchen and living room with cable TV. There were two bedrooms, one with queen size mattress and the other with two full size beds. There was also an extra full bed in the living room. The bathroom was small but functional. The cabins come with pots, pans, mugs, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee machine, microwave and fridge . Just be sure to bring your own salt, pepper, and other condiments. On Saturday we spent the whole day outside riding ATVS and water skiing. Then grabbed dinner at the Rainbow Grill on Beach Rd. It was the best food we have had in a long time. We will definitely be back Ramblewood Cabins next year and hopefully spend more than just a few days.

Any questions there is always a friendly staff member to steer you in the right direction. Tent sites, RV sites, cabins, and even a yurt, your choice. My 2 favorite sites are 69 and 74 with 74 over looking the lake. All sites are clean. Landscape very well maintained. Pool is excellent. Laundry room, dish washing area, rec center. Outside chess board, fishing, paddle boats and kayaks. I highly recommend this campground. Great place to camp with kids also. Right down the road from santas villiage amusement park.

Mountain Lake Camping Resort is one of our favorite locations to camp in New England. Located a…read morecouple hours north of Nashua and Manchester it's the perfect place to getaway without being too far from home. Everything about this campground shows that the owners take great pride in it. They have online bookings, text communications (including reservation and quiet time reminders) and they have recently added a checkin booth so you don't have to hop out of your vehicle to go into the office to register. The views of the lake are gorgeous (especially in the Fall) and the landscaping is well maintained. There are several amenities like a pool w/ water slides, dog park, beach, fishing dock, dog swimming dock, paddle boat/kayak rentals, playground and oversized chess/checkers. You can also order homemade muffins to pick up in the morning for breakfast. Their campground store is also one of the cleanest and most well stocked ones that I've ever seen. The prices were also very reasonable (although I really wanted a hoodie as a memento and $40 was just a little more than I was comfortable spending). The biggest negative of this campground is that if you have one of the sites near the front there is quite a bit of road noise. That kills a bit of the ambiance while trying to kick back and relax but the beautiful views from the sites near the front mostly make up for the sounds of loud vehicles passing by. It's also not enough of a nuisance to rate them any lower than 5 stars. In addition to regular camping sites they also offer yurt and cabin rentals which is a nice option for people who don't own camping gear or aren't fans of traditional camping. If you're looking for a lovely place to get away Mountain Lake Camping Resort is an excellent choice!

The owner Mark was gracious and very helpful in planning our days. Clean showers, portable toilets, well kept campsites, and like minded campers were the highlights. It's important to know what to expect here though. This is a pack in/ pack out camp ground. No dumpsters or rubbishy disposal on site. Sites lack a fire ring of any sort or a picnic table. There is however a communal area with a propane grill, tables, umbrellas, and a large fire tank(?). Cooking of food can be cumbersome with several people using the grill at once. Sitting at the fire pit with strangers I bet would be nice if you happen to have outgoing neighbors. We were not fortunate in that department. All in all this is great low cost and clean option to be located in an amazing area of the country.
