Tyler Place Family Resort - Partridge house

Tyler Place was an incredible experience. I was looking for an all inclusive within driving…read moredistance. I do not like cruises or theme parks. It's a really nice fit for a certain type of customer, after reading dozens of reviews we booked and I went in optimistic but unsure if we would go again. Our 3 and 8 year old daughters loved the daily programming 8:30-1:30 then 5:30-8:30. We ate all of our meals separately from our children. I mostly slept in and sat by the pool while my kids were in program. Others golfed, played tennis, sailed, played pickleball, water aerobics etc. My favorite part were the evening 'booze cruises' we went on two. We also opted on for family photos which were excellent. These items as well as laundry service, alcoholic beverages and nighttime childcare was not included but when we checked out our final bill was less that I expected. My kids went rock climbing, rode a pony, went on pirate cruises, crafted and got lots of time in the water. My daughter turned 4 on the trip, which was fun and very special. The accommodations were great, small and tidy but all we needed. We spent very little time in our unit. Food was solidly good- my husband is on a strict diet. Pescatarian/vegetarian and there were so many choices for him. Bring 2x the sunscreen and bug spray you think you may need. Pack your passports- one day we went on a quick trip to Canada for lunch and some duty free shopping. The family that owns TP works here. It's been around since 1933. The staff is from all over the world. Lots of interesting and fun families from the US and beyond. We asked to change our week and hope we can get in for 2024.

The INN truly has exceeded…read moreour expectations for what our ideal experience is, and we are so grateful for the INN being the foundation of a phenomenal week-long getaway in Jay Peak. The stay: main area- Quaint, cozy, cabin-like feel with a rustic albeit decorative interior. Carve some time out in the evenings to hang in the common area by the warm fire and play some games they have available. It's large enough for multiple groups to be dispersed and play separately. Room- just enough space and awesome vibe. Shower was amazing with great pressure and perfect after a long day of skiing. Dog friendly: We brought our dog with us for the trip and were so pleased with how truly dog friendly the INN was towards her. Seeing as we couldn't take our dog on the mountain to ski, Kinga offered daily dog walks around the neighborhood for a more than reasonable fee. It was the perfect amenity to offer so we could enjoy our time skiing without having to rush back and take her out. She was sleepy everyday that we came back and got so many sniffs in! We loved hearing Kinga share with excitement details of their walk everday. They are all truly dog lovers, with Portland and Banana there as two lovely inn dogs (different but amazing personalities). We were also greeted with a dog bed and treat in the room upon arrival. The dog-friendly rooms are right next to the exterior door so it's super easy to take her out for walks. There is a river in the back of the INN, as well as a small through-road so easily accessible for long walks. The food: Don't skip breakfast- it's phenomenal! Had the avocado toast most days but tried everything on the menu - French toast is delicious as well. Definitely make dinner reservations for the INN at least one night. It was such a memorable experience. Huge compliments to Jason for cooking the ribeye and duck to perfection. Drinks- Holly is a rockstar of a bartender. I asked her to make me something "simple but effective" one night-- she recognized I had been ordering vodka based drinks that evening and made a delicious vodka gimlet. It was the perfect complement to sitting by the fire and playing chess together. Nick, Jason, Kinga, Holly, and the rest of the staff make an exceptional team and have something very special at The INN. We are so appreciative of the hospitality they showed towards our dog and us. Next time we head to Jay Peak, we already know where we will be staying. Thank you all!

The fact that the story was true and that this famous singing family settled in Stowe, VT because it reminded them of their homeland, well, it's been a long-time dream of mine to visit the Von Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe and feel the connection in person. And so I did... in July 2025, some SIXTY years after seeing the Sound of Music. We actually didn't stay here, which seems kind of odd considering what a fan I am. Now that I know how much there is to do in Stowe... and at the lodge itself, perhaps if we come back with plans to stay longer, I would stay here. The Von Trapp Family Lodge has so much to offer a person... whether one stays here or not. These are some of the activities: 1. Hiking 2. Mountain biking 3. Skiing / Cross-country skiing 4. Horse-drawn carriage rides 5. Sleigh Rides 6. Disc golf 7. Yoga / Massage 8. Bicycle rentals 9. Tennis 10. Swimming 11. Rock Climbing Wall 12. Indoor arts / crafts / culinary classes 13. Wine and/or beer tastings 14. Choice of 4 restaurants We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the lodge and grounds and learning more about the family and the history behind the lodge. Since this (ironically) my 1700th review, it's fitting that such a special place falls on a noteworthy review number.

His warm demeanor + decades at United definitely make him a good fit to welcome all of VTFL's guests. We had a ton of questions about this, that and a third thing and he answered all of them with Trappist poise and grace. I recommend immediate promotion ahead of peers. [Shoutout to our server Michelle too!] BILL at Cows: Bill was a solid tour guide - kept the group engaged and safe, clearly knows the cows like the back of his hand. Ditto the history and lore of the grazing areas and the Highland program in general. You want a friendly, knowledgeable guy for this role and he fits the bill. (Hehe.) Also recommend immediate promotion ahead of peers.
