Minimum 2 night stay and while you stay there, you can have free access to the day use state parks such as Sandbar State Park (not dog friendly) or Niquette Bay State Park (dog friendly) to name a few. We stayed on site 76 which was big and open. On a packed weekend, this site won't give you much privacy like the other campsites but it makes up for location - near the bathroom and water spigot, nature center, playground and beach. This and the others next to it would be a good site to reserve as a group of friends who are looking to go camping together. When we went, it was raining and so we went to the nature center where the staff there was very inviting and engaged our 4 year old to do an activity. Great spot for the kids to do indoor activities if it rains. Beach is a rock beach (no sand) and a great view of the water. I do wish it was sand but we still managed to have a good time in the water. Also the playground was very updated and my daughter enjoyed going there whenever she can. Everyone, including staff and campers, were all so nice there. It was our first time camping here and the staff explained everything to us and even offered us some free produce that they had. Firewood $6 (fairly dry), free kindle wood, ice $3.

Just the drive here makes it worthwhile, even better if you can do it in the daytime and without rain. Add to that nice secluded little campsites, functional shower facilities, swimming at the beach, sporting equipment and bike rental, and (get this!) actual pleasant human beings for staff and you basically have a perfect idyllic getaway. It's dog friendly, a quick drive to Burlington, and surrounded by other local attractions. I was only here for two nights, but I hope to return someday. Maybe it was just the campfire-grilled steak and corn on the cob, or the way the sun looked setting over the lake, or all that fresh almost-Canadian air, but I think I'm in love. I can has more vacation days? You can even book your site online, where they have a interactive map with photos of each location. Seriously. best. campground.

We finally made an intentional stop at this park after numerous times of passing by on our way to…read morethe ferry to Burlington, VT. With our swim and sand gears in tow, we were ready for a day on the beach! Upon entering the premise, we were charged a $4.00 admission per vehicle. We parked by the building where most of the showers were. With little kids, it was a hike towards the beach. It was a sunny day, but with rain clouds looming over us. Thus, the winds were blowing and the waters constantly pushed waves back and forth. There were lots of warnings and cordoned areas for swimming. A lifeguard was on duty. Our kids enjoyed wading in the waters and playing with the sand. To shower, we had to run back to where we came from. Only 2 out of several shower stalls were working and both of them were too hot to use. That's not good. But, I would be interested in going back to try out camping here. It's not a big area and for people like us who grew up in the city, this might be a good place to start the outdoor experience. And, in case we realize that camping out is not our thing, we can easily go out and forage in the mall.

Info to note: -It's closed from some time in the fall until about April. Not sure whether they have set dates or go by the weather. -there are only two stalls in the women's bathhouse, so I assume the same is true for the men, and the bathhouse has no heat or A/C. -the showers are coin operated: 25¢/5 minutes. One can pre-pay for multiple 5-minute increments at a time. -Shower water temp was easily adjustable, got nice and hot, and stayed that way for 20 minutes! -There are outlets in the bathhouse, e.g. for a hairdryer.

The campground was completely quiet and directions to our site had been left for us on the bulletin board at the camp office. We easily found our site, used the very clean restrooms, and fell asleep to the hooting of an owl. Next morning, we had a quick conversation with the campground manager who was raking up apples - the area seems to have been an apple orchard in the past. Very friendly. Campground was still fairly quiet, although we talked to a few other campers, and the restrooms were still clean. We didn't stay long, as we had to get on our way again, but our trip will take us back there for the last night, and will be glad to stay there again.

He assigned us to a buddy site and said he would try his best not to have somebody in the site next to us. The site is very level and driving to it was a breeze. The water pressure is great at the site. John did apologize for the washrooms as he said he hasn't had a chance to fully renovate them yet, but if this isn't fully renovated, I'd love to come back and see what it looks like when he's done. The washroom was clean and very presentable. Heck there was even feminine products in case you needed them which I think is a great touch. The shower pressure was awesome and was nicely hot. In fact I think it was better than home. I agree with other recent reviewers in saying that if you're reading your review from 2024 or earlier, it's from the previous owner and not a reflection on the new owner. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm from Michigan, this could become that secret camping place that I retreat to several times a year. I wish the owners all the success that they striving for.

The resort is under new ownership and the owner Jon has a vision for what camping should be. He and the staff are very friendly and accommodating The sites are large and private with plenty of trees. One night they had a food truck on site with great pizza. They even had a retro movie set up under the stars and a community fire pit. The staff let us know more improvements are coming as well. It was a beautiful drive up through the Adirondacks to get there. The resort is only about a mile from the beach on Lake Champlain and about four miles from the ferry to Vermont. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning again soon.
