JDs Lock Shop was REALLY fast (showed up in about 20 minutes), and even charged me less than what he quoted me because he was able to repair the old lock (instead of replace). He even made a small repair to my back door while he was out, no charge, just wanted it to look right. Rare, old school, family business type service. 5 stars!!! He informed me he had to leave another customer hanging in order to come take care of me. The second he walked in our home, he promised to get his manager to cut us a deal. An hour and $700 for two residential locks later, he left without getting us a deal and grossly overcharging us. We expected a deadbolt and door handle combo for two doors. He charged us $125 each for two deadbolts and two handles and never explained this until after the job was done. I had a family emergency and in the process of leaving the house, I locked my purse and keys in the…read morehouse. I did have my cell phone and was able to contact. It was about 7pm. I told him that it was an emergency and I needed to leave town ASAP. I had to call him several times and they finally arrived almost an hour later. I told him what I did, I locked the lock on the door knob and they keys were in my purse. He then proceeded to drill out the deadbolt. If I had been able to lock the deadbolt, I would have had my keys. He had to replace the door knob lock. I did not have time to wait for him to go back to his shop to get a deadbolt. He did not offer to pay for his mistake. I ended up have to replace both locks due to his not listening. Not impressed. I had used him before. He is very gruff!
