Ordered a replacement key for my truck went here to have it cut. I was told they can not cut keys ordered off of Amazon due to risk to their machines. I ordered a new key from Milwaukee once again brought it in to have it cut and was then told they will not cut keys other than what they sell. When I explained what I had been told on a previous trip I was all but called a liar. Horrible communication skills! Will never recommend or give them my buisness again. I will pay more and go further just to no give them my money. read more

my vehicle has a locking gas cap and i lost my key i called the guys at The Lock Doc and they had a technician meet me at the shop within minutes after my arrival i went in and was greeted by the friendly staff the gentleman grabbed his pick set and had my gas cap off in less than a minute i asked him "how much do i owe you" and he replied with "don't worry about it" i was very impressed with the technicians skills and the complimentary job was a definite plus! needless to say i will be referring all my friends and family here and they have a customer in me for life. Several years ago, I attempted to use them to cut and program a new key for my car. It took a couple of weeks to get the key and meet them since I am rarely in town. They got a key in and cut it, but they never could program it. I ordered a key online, and paid them to cut it. I programmed it myself with a procedure in the service manual. Fast forward to today. I needed another key for the same vehicle. Rather than have them try what previously failed, I just ordered a key online and went back to them to have it cut. However, they said they didn't cut keys bought online because it might damage their key machine. Having worked as a locksmith, but not longer having the equipment, I know this is absolute BS. A local building supply cut the key for no charge, and I just finished programming it. Back in business, no thanks to Lock DOC. I see no reason to seek their services in the future. read more

bought a travel trailer missing all keys. normally used another guy but his estimate was $200. These guys were super fast and it cost less than $30. I used Lock Doc for several years. About 4-5 years ago, their service really started to go downhill. When I went in, the guy working there was gripey, overwhelmed, and unhelpful. The last TWO times I've tried to use them, they've been complete no-shows. The last time, they told me 3 times that they would come that day. Never came. Accidently walked out of house with house and car keys still in locked up home. Went over to neighbor to get phone number for a lock. Called Lock Doc and one of their techs (Josh) was at my home in less than 45 minutes. Josh worked my lock to front door and got in the home within approx. 1 minute. He did that and rekeyed another door lock for us all completed within another 5 minutes. It was unbelievable the short time it took Josh. The most surprising thing was the cost. Very, very reasonable. If ever needed again, I will call no one but Lock Doc. Needless to say I will definitely ask for Josh and hope he is available. read more

I had The Lock Doc come out and re-key my house when I purchased it. Then a few months later I was checking the spare key as I was leaving town and needed to provide a neighbor a key to let the dog out. The door would not unlock either with the key or the thumb turn. I was extremely disappointed! After all the good reviews I expected better. My grandson misplaced my keys inside the house. Car starts runs just fine... I drove it there that morning just like I do everyday . But I needed the key so I called Lock Doc they told me $140 I said come on out. Two guys with no personality pulled up out front and 30 minutes later knocked on my door and told me that I could buy this useless key they made that could unlock the doors that were already unlocked for $40 but they couldn't get it to program because something was wrong with my Jeep computer. Well obviously there's nothing wrong with my Jeep computer or my other key wouldn't work. I called them back the next day to ask them a couple of questions to see if we can get it fixed they never even called me back. Sorry service sorry follow up I won't use them again and they sure don't deserve a 5-star rating. It's obvious they can do simple Key Making but it when it comes to higher-level operations such as programming a chip on a key they don't have that ability. Told me if I could get someone that had a handheld diagnostic unit to help me I might could find the code that was wrong with my computer. I laughed and said I have a code reader in the passenger floorboard I read the codes this last week we can go read them now there won't be anything there except for a faulty pressure solenoid on the transmission. Well pretty embarrassing for them that they were caught in a lie. But that's what happens when men don't know how to fix something they just want to make something up and blame it on something else instead of saying I'm sorry I don't have the ability to make this happen. So get your simple monkey see monkey do keys made by these people but when it comes to something with a higher level of difficulty please be smart and go somewhere else don't waste your time here. read more
