JJBG was recommended to me and came up first on Yelp when searching for breakfast in Flagler Beach. Looked at the website for the menu and saw several things we wanted to try. My wife and I are corn beef hash fans so we tried the CBH Benedict. My wife had hash browns and I tried country potatoes. Overall pretty good but with two suggestions: cook your potatoes more before serving; and - this being the important one - put on the menu that you don't serve the CBH Benedict on a muffin (or any other type of bread). We were both disappointed. I have NEVER seen a Benedict served without any bread. They put their "country Benedict" on a biscuit (says it on the menu) and as Benedict's traditionally come on an English muffin - we didn't know we weren't getting any. Again - tasted good, just wasn't what we were expecting. They really should let folks know their "Benedict" doesn't come on a muffin or any other type of bread. read more

I want to comment on the BEST breakfast my family and I had today! The food was outstanding, I had shrimp and scallop wrap with grits...The wrap was so delicious and out of this world and the grits were a great side dish! The staff is outstanding Jenny, Michele, just to name a few always making sure you have everything you need, filling up water, tea, coffee and are always there for you! My mother and I went to Java Joint this past week and IT WAS SO GOOD. The food is absolutely fantastic no matter what you're ordering (and the coffee too!) and the location is supreme. A stone's throw away from the ocean and comfortable indoor/outdoor seating. The service is incredible as well. Jennie waited on us and made the experience so wonderful. She and the other staff also gave us some local tips of things to see in the area! They are super dog friendly as well and we cannot wait to bring our dogs by next time. 10/10 would highly recommend! read more

Food was ok...the wait was awful. 30 minutes for shrimp tacos is too slow. Pet friendly but super large dogs don't fit and spill into other diners tables. Water glasses sat empty for a long time. read more

Went in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Expected to wait but was seated in about 10 minutes so that was a pleasant surprise. Having never been there we sat outside on the covered deck. We ordered standard breakfast fare, and waited, waited and waited. For an hour. No explanation, wait staff avoided eye contact. For a place that calls itself the Java joint and the staff has t-shirts bragging on their coffee, the coffee is terrible. The food was okay. My big issue was the tables outside are very close together, and they permit smoking on the deck. There is nothing to indicate this until someone lights up. The area is covered too so it just traps it right in there. Totally ruined an already bad experience. Will not ever return for the lousy coffee, very slow mediocre food, and a good dose of second hand smoke. read more

This was our second visit to Java Joint. The first we just loved the food, service and view. We just went again and had a different experience. My husband and I both ordered a cup of clam chowder. I swear it came out of a CHUNKY can, very disappointed. He had a hamburger, it was good, but forgot the cheese, had to send it back. I had the Greek quesadilla it had spinach and mozzarella in it. Beautiful views, great food and friendly service, however my husband and I waited over 56 minutes for breakfast. I had a simple two egg plate with toast and grits and he had a Mexican breakfast burrito. Like I said, the food is absolutely amazing and Mimosas are on point but it is not worth the wait. I come to Flagler Beach every Memorial Weekend and every year I give it another shot and every year I am disappointed. If they can get the ticket times whittled down this would be a great spot but they are not there now. read more

On February 16, we stopped at the Java Joint on the way to Orlando Airport. We needed to drop a couple from our group for their flight. We emphasized we had little time, and consequently, needed four egg sandwiches to go. After a 45 minute wait from our time of arrival, the four sandwiches arrived. The sandwiches were acceptable, but the service was record setting slow. If the restaurant had been packed, the slow service would have been more understandable. However, the restaurant had light traffic during our visit. Our group would have appreciated being told that the Java Joint takes forever to produce four egg sandwiches. If told that, we would have moved on and been much happier. read more

Best food we had during our entire vacation. Crab Benedict was perfect! The grits were amazing. Walnut pancakes were delicious. Driving past Java Joint, it's easy to roll past this small, beachfront gem. If you do, turn around and go back!!! We went there for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. While I'm sure the ocean view makes everything taste better, the food was really good. The crab cake Benedict was fantastic. The corned beef hash was home made and possibly the best I've ever had. As good as the food is, the real star here is the service. The staff is genuinely friendly and works together to bring you the best possible service. I'll definitely be back. read more

Started our day at Java Joint, and as always was consistent in both food and service. It's a popular hang out with outdoor seating on the large wrap around deck. The outdoor tables have been resurfaced and a much cleaner surface. Had the Java burrito and pancakes. If they don't have what you want, ask, they will make it. read more

Four and a half stars: Five for the coffee, four for the food. The coffee is always to die for. They roast their own beans, and the flavor proves it. Get the frozen mocha, and yes even cough up the extra change for fresh whipped cream, and you will be one happy camper. Their bloody marys are my favorite anywhere, perfectly seasoned and spicy and yum yum yummy!!! And their array of mimosas are not to be missed, several different options all mixed to perfection. Food-wise, I have had dishes I love and I have had a few that were just okay. I haven't had any drinks there that I didn't think were amazingly wonderful. If it sounds good to you, it probably is! Food: Good dishes, in my opinion: CRAB CAKES. Get anything with the crab cakes- there are several options, and you will be happy. Lots of crab, very little filler, lightly prepared and wonderful. Some of the best crab cakes I have ever had. My sister came to visit me for three days, and after the first day she insisted we come back a second time before she left to get crab cakes again! Also amazing: SHRIMP. Literally anything they sell with shrimp is also to die for. The shrimp quesadillas are probably my favorite thing there, and I had them make a breakfast bowl with shrimp instead of breakfast meat, it's all good. Those shrimp are cooked and seasoned so well, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I don't love their mahi, I think they overcook it. Grits are a little runny for my liking, eggs always seem a tad overcooked. But this has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in the area, and just because I don't love everything they sell doesn't make those awesome items any less awesome!!!! Plus, beach views- 'nuff said. The place is always hopping, huge local hangout, so I would recommend trying to visit on an 'off' hour if you don't want to wait a long time. Check it out!!! read more

There is no better view when eating breakfast than to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic, and the Java Joint has plenty of patio seating to do just this. Cute little place well North of Flagler Pier. Very dog friendly and people friendly too! My fiance` dove to the beach to watch the sunrise and grab breakfast. There are a few places that have good Yelp ratings, but many open at 7:30 or 8:00. This place opens at 7, so we gave it a try. Tina met us outside as she was setting up for the day at 6:59. She welcomed us inside and could not have been any more inviting. The coffee was good and breakfast cooked well. Eggs, sausage, bacon, French toast - not hard to prepare, but the cook did a solid job in not over cooking it. Food wasn't anything to write home about, but was tasty and very well prepared. Prices are reasonable, and it looked like a lot of locals eat here daily. read more

We were visiting our family for Thanksgiving from MA and found the Java Joint. The food and lattes were great! My husband got the crab cakes Benedict as he said it was unreal. I got the breakfast burrito which was so large and delicious. I wish I could have finished it. The best part was the staff who treated us like family and even gave our daughter a little stuffed animal bear that she will not let go of! We are planning on going back before we leave! Good food. I had a large banana pancake. It was so good. The bananas were actually mixed in the batter. My hubby had the French toast with multigrain bread. He enjoyed. My daughter had a bagel, biscuit, grits and bacon. She ate those grits might quick. The coffee and mimosa was good. I must put this on my list next time I visit. Nice view. I am a local and it has been my go to spot just about every morning for two years, since the new owner took over. The waitstaff will become your friends, the food will become what you look forward to, your dogs will be treated with water, cookies and love and the view is the best - all ocean! On top of all that they have an espresso machine, beer and wine. The sound system will gently harmonize the waves with gentle reggae music that is not blasting in your ears. Oh yeah, if you get bored they now have tablets with video games on them and little toys for your toddlers. I am looking forward to the county repairing the stairs right in front, which I hear will be soon as since the hurricane, I miss walking down the beach and climbing up the stairs right to Java Joint. I cannot think of a reason why you would not check it out. read more

I give it 1 star because you can't give it a zero. The food was less than stellar, and the employees were having a rather loud discussion about how they should go about getting food stamps and medicaid. Both the hubby and myself agree that $23 is an awful lot for 2 turkey sandwiches and 2 solo cups of iced tea! As for the deck, I only recommend it if you like flies - lots and lots of flies. read more
