This is a nice place with a good vibe! My cappuccino was hot and tasty. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars instead of the 4 that I did is the lack of coffee art! I've grown accustomed to that little extra touch and miss it when it isn't there! Even if it is a simple design! This is a nice place to come and read or meet a friend. Courteous and welcoming staff!

A small, bustling coffee shop that is perched right on the corner of Main Street. The ambience is what you think of when you think of a local coffee shop -- coffee house music, charm, and small town pleasantries. I only had the large cafe mocha and it was terrific. Steamed to perfection and it had just enough chocolate goodness that didn't overwhelm the taste buds. A lot of hip coffee shops try to out do themselves nowadays and this is always my first test....can they make a good cafe mocha. They did. Staff were friendly, but not super fast. However, there is no need to rush when you step into this place. Don't get the coffee to go. Grab a table, sit down, and enjoy a good conversation with your friend or strike one up with a stranger. It is that kind of place. Life is good.

A calm, lovely place to rest and a have a cuppa and treat. The staff is very helpful. Liked their spicy chai. And no music when we where there, so could actually renew and think after a long walk on the Trout Run Trail. The art work of Elaine Plamondon provides spots of color and whimsy here and there.

Ice cubes made of coffee. Genius.

We come to Decorah for a family vacation once a year. I should have gotten a punch card for here because we definitely had at least 10 drinks total. Amazing coffee. They used ice cubes made of coffee for my iced coffee. Genius.

Barista making one of their specialties "Affogato". Hot espresso poured over dense ice cream.

Nice, quiet. Fit in with the town, while also doing the coffee shop thing. Nice blend of "coffee culture" and small-town Iowa.

Excellent service and atmosphere. I'm so glad Decorah finally decided to add a coffee shop that decided to act as a coffee shop.

Kind of torn on this review…read more Grounded has a great patio and well-priced drinks. I just would say I haven't been super impressed by their drinks. I tend to prefer places that make some of their own syrups, etc. and from what I can tell, Grounded doesn't really do much from scratch, which is fine, just not my preference. Their drinks are usually good. I was kind of disappointed to see their even their seasonal specialty drink was not a homemade syrup. My biggest complaint is their cold brew is super weak/too watered down. Service is usually okay, cleanliness is usually okay as well. I do love their expanded hours, so we do stop here when others are closed.

Back then, it was our little ritual, cozy mornings with warm drinks and big feelings, just the two of us figuring out a new chapter one sip at a time. She'd order something with way too much whipped cream, and I'd pretend I wasn't tearing up over how grown-up she looked holding her cocoa. Now? We still go, only these days, she brings her friends, and I'm just along for the ride, and maybe to pay. It's gone from quiet catch-ups to full-blown coffee shop photo shoots with her crew. And honestly? The lighting in there gets it. The huge windows, the plants, the downtown charm, it's practically begging for cute, candid best friend pics and "caught laughing but obviously posed" moments. The vibe is warm, welcoming, a little artsy, and always buzzing in the best way. Whether we're talking about life, school, crushes, or just sitting in that comfortable silence that only comes with time, Grounded feels like home. A beautiful, caffeinated home with oat milk options and the occasional scone we swear we're splitting, but somehow I never get half. Grounded isn't just a coffee shop to us. It's a memory maker, a tradition keeper, a growing-up landmark in latte form.
