I always get hot chocolate from here whenever I visit Park City. I've been getting it for several years now, and it's so good. Their chocolate dessert is also yummy!! The only thing that fluctuates is the customer service. Sometimes, when we come in, we'll have someone greet us and be ready at the register. Other times, they'll be in the little nook and be on their phones and not acknowledge us. We were loud enough for them to know someone was there, but after finally calling for someone, they didn't seem too happy to help us. TL;DR: 4.5 stars. Good service, convenient location and of course yummy ice cream! Banksy helps, too. I believe this is a must visit place at Park City. My wife has a serious sweet tooth and loves ice cream. She will eat ice cream indoor and outdoor no matter the season. If you go through our reviews, you'll realize we go to at least one ice cream place at every city we visit. We both went to Penn State and the Creamery ice cream set a pretty high bar for us in terms of ice cream quality. When we say the ice cream is good, trust us. Upon entering the store, it was a little confusing because it is a a cafe that you see first, with the ice cream counter on the other side. After wading through the crowds, you will find a nicely decorated area with a big cow and also 20+ selections of ice cream for you to try. The staff was attentive, giving us as many samples as we wanted (we have decision problems, don't judge) but the line was chaotic. Patrons were unsure where to lineup and where to pay. Look for their unique flavors! They're also quite generous for their serving size. Our waffle cone, kid's size served us for the entire duration of the cone. The sitting area with the cow has a lot of US Olympians memorabilia. Remember to check them out while you're enjoying your delicious ice cream! Such a great spot on Main Street. I came by for breakfast during Sundance Film Festival later in my visit, and I am honestly sad I didn't know this existed earlier in the week. They have everything! I enjoyed an acai bowl and my dad had a green eggs and ham crepe. Both were really yummy. The sandwich, pastry, general food selection is so vast that there is really something for everyone. There is a cute seating area in the back, and it made for a really nice way to escape the cold. I'd love to come back to visit in a warmer time of year to try out the ice cream, too. The service all around was great. The team answered all questions I had (the acai bowl base is apple juice btw) and all in all, the fast casual dining experience was terrific. Cool little store with great hot chocolate! My wife and I walked up Main Street in the snow with our drink it was picture perfect. The only thing that kept my from leaving more stars was the customer service. We walked in and didn't receive a smile or a hello. We walked up to the counter and the employees were eating soup...i asked for a small hot chocolate she told me the price, and I gave her my card. Her giving me the price was LITERALLY the only thing that any employee said to us... I'm really big on customer service. I think it's even bigger than the quality of the drink. We stopped in here while in Park City. The line was long but there were a lot of fun things for kids to look at. They even have magnetic cat butts. Lol. My husband got a cherry/chocolate ice cream. I know it has a cool name.. It was delicious. I got cotton candy and it was not good at all. I wish they had more options for ice cream. It was a long line to wait in for so few options. I should've gotten the strawberry cheesecake but oh well. Definitely would try it again. The staff was super friendly and seemed like snowboarder types & that seemed pretty cool. This gem is everything you would expect of an ice cream parlor. Cute trinkets, whimsical decor, and a solid ice cream selection. Our son loved the chocolate malt and he is quite picky, as he has been ordering them for the last 7 years! Their single scoop is huge and the chocolate monster was quite divine. The line was rather long with a few younger kids working - they probably could have been more efficient, but overall, I feel they handled the crowd well. I love dessert and I was excited when this place came up in my Yelp search after dinner! The place is pretty interesting with half of it being a cafe that serves coffee and such and half of it an ice cream store with all sorts of knick knacks/souvenirs all throughout, all served up with a cow/winter sports decor. My wife and I tried a couple different flavors and they were all good. She was disappointed that they had run out of a banana flavored ice cream and could only give us a sample, so she ended up with the orange dream. I chose a caramel based flavor but as they were scooping it, they ended up with only about a half a cup since that flavor ran out as well, so I ended up getting a little Butterfinger crunch on top of my half scoop. The Butterfinger crunch was great but I wasn't so thrilled with the caramel one since it was so much caramel- probably due to the fact that I was being served literally from the bottom of the barrel. YUM! I got the tuxedo mocha and it was delectable. I don't typically get mochas but this one hit the spot. Also right outside the building you can see artwork done by Banksy, that they've encased in a glass. It's a small coffee shop that isn't pretentious and gives you what you want - a good espresso. Full Disclosure - this review is based purely on the frozen chai and biscotti I ordered, also the service, also the lack of seating.... The Chaicicle, or frozen chai, was so bland I couldn't believe they honestly counted it as chai. It has no spice, and no real flavor at all. Also, the biscotti was delicious, but so hard it was difficult to eat. The worst part about my visit to Java Cow, was the service, the kids working the counter seemed somewhat oblivious and would ask you a question and then not bother to listen to your answer, and then subsequently ask the same question again.... So in love with this place. Kid you not, I once got ice cream from Java Cow 3 times in one weekend! I like to consider myself an expert ice cream eater and on my expert scale, Java Cow has the best ice cream in Utah. All made in house with a large variety of flavors. I highly recommend the honey lavender, sweet and light. But really, you can't go wrong with any of them. 4 stars, why? The people who work there can be good, but they can also be awful. They are either tentative and give you huge scoops, or they just seemed annoyed at having to be there and totally skimp you. But whatever with the people. If you're willing to shell out for a single scoop of ice cream (around $5 with tax I would say), then come try Java Cow. What was pretty cool though was the cafe on the other side, and if you have time to burn you can look through the variety of small items that they sell on the side. Things to know: -their vanilla latte is amaze balls and they are quick to make it -their chocolate croissants are life -their breakfast sandwich was decent BUT this was when they made it to order. During the festival they have pre-made bagel sandwiches and they are hard as rocks -if you get there before the general population wakes up, you are in and out -if you fail at the above prepare yourself to stand in line. They are quick but it gets cramped Half of the shop is an ice cream parlor and the other half is a coffee house. Quick buys can be purchased on the ice cream side of the place which is convenient for rush hour. They also have a sitting area but it's kinda small and when you have twenty layers of clothes, it's best to take it to go. They also sell souvenirs and shit like sunglasses. I think their cows drinking rum!! Although a coffe place, I asked if there was a chocolate cow? I needed a Hot chocolate! And I was treated to extra whip cream and a hot chocolate that was prepared HOT! (Unlike some like warm not so hot hot chocolates) It tasted unusually good/it had a peculiar flavor of chocolate- I asked if there was rum in it! The ice cream was tasty, but it was close to $6 for 1 (medium?) cone + tip. In Park City everything is up-charged, so it's par for the course, but am I paying for your store's location or for your store's product? While $6 might be a fair price for a small portion of amazing ice cream, this ice cream was not so amazing as to warrant that cost, even considering the Main St., PC location. If you're staying from out of town, your options are gonna be pretty scant, so open that wallet wide, you're on vacation anyway. If you live in Utah and are heading back to the Salt Lake metro after your visit to PC, there are better ice cream places featuring more affordable prices west of the Wasatch Front.
