She took our artwork, asked a few questions about the room in which the artwork would be displayed and made recommendations, without any pressure whatsoever. We decided on the perfect combination of frame, trim and mat to compliment our painting. The job turned out perfectly, on time and at a fair price. Pandemic update: For December 2020, the Market has moved to…read moreCity Park on the Great Lawn across from the Peristyle. It is much smaller than the usual December markets at Palmer Park but it is well spread out. It is happening every Saturday until Christmas. You enter from the Dreyfous Dr side of the Great Lawn, where you leave your info for contact tracing and they have hand sanitizer. The whole area is taped off and we are trusted to be adults and comply; but in case you aren't a good citizen, there is a security guard nearby. There were 20-30 vendors selling their wares. Everyone was masked and I was glad to see more and more vendors were excepting e-payments. Great way to support local artists and get some amazing presents for your loved one or you!

In full transparency, I haven't been to CC since 2001 during undergrad. When my daughter joined a…read moresorority this year, I stopped in to see if there was anything I could pick up as a surprise gift. A lot has changed in almost 30 years and they have an extensive Tulane collection. The amount of Tulane items is insane. If you are looking for Tulane stuff, they've got you covered. I was surprised that I didn't see any Loyola stuff, but times have changed. I was really surprised that they have very little Greek stuff. Again, I get it. They probably don't sell a lot of items now that people buy online. The thing that did bother me was the utter lack of customer service. The only people in there were me and a family. No one asked if I needed help. I was clearly looking around and several employees watched me looking around. One guy was literally unpacking boxes next to me while I searched the area. No one said a word to me as I walked around and no one asked if I needed help. They watched as I walked in and watched as I walked out. If your business is in retail, actually speaking to potential customers is a must.

I hate to have to write this (I really like the idea of supporting local & understand running a…read morebusiness is challenging), but this is the 2nd time that we've been completely ignored by customer service regarding a simple issue. Last time I ordered an item in a medium & was emailed an abrupt refund notification (even though the website said "in stock"). I reached out a couple of times about maybe getting a large instead & no one ever responded. Baffling. Recently I gave it another shot (though because of my diminished confidence I ordered twice as many items this time from BN Bookstore simultaneously since they promote that "satisfaction is our goal"). I relied on a description on the CC website that a sweatshirt was 100% cotton. Not a big fan of 50-50 (don't like the feel or the static) & never would have ordered one if it had been accurately described. I don't know what went wrong this time but it arrived in 50-50 material. Very disappointing, but whatever, I did still like the design. Tweeted about the unfortunate mislabeling snafu and yet again received no response or even the slightest acknowledgment. Deja vu. Just a little attention and culpability would have been nice, but I think I'm done here. And kinda Bummed out also. I liked having a creative alternative as a choice, but what good is it if customer respect & fulfillment is lacking.
