After receiving a quote, taking pictures for 2 hours and paying our deposit, we waited 3 1/2 weeks for our scheduled concrete lifting repair. During the initial consultation, we were assured the repair would not be a problem. However, when the two technicians arrived, they spent about 15 minutes assessing the situation before leaving, stating they could not complete the job. What was even more frustrating was the lack of communication afterward. We spent the next 12 hours trying to reach someone at the local branch to discuss the issue and find a resolution for this much-needed repair. Despite repeatedly requesting a phone call, no one ever contacted us. Instead, all communication was handled through text messages. We were eventually informed that a waiver would be required, something that was never discussed during the consultation. At that point, we requested a full refund of our deposit. In all my years, I have never experienced such poor communication and customer service from a company. Based on our experience, I would encourage others to proceed with caution when considering Groundworks in Belmont, NC.

I was wrong, I described the issue and they came out to do the structural work. My floor was sloping as I told them before, during work and after the work. They said they had done all they could do. I had to hire a structural engineer to inspect their work. They came back and made a change to the work they did do. However, the structural engineer discovered the real issue with the slope was something else. In summary, this company should not be doing structural work and I would not hire them to do structural work. I don't believe their error was out of ignorance of their expertise but a desire to make a buck regardless Additionally the communication was amateurish. One hand didn't know what the other was doing. They scheduled some work but didn't inform me they they'd scheduled it. one guy would tell me something and the other man hadn't been kept informed.

Not only did the FRS team complete the job in one day, they were great to deal with, and highly professional throughout my interaction with them. I originally called because I noticed soft, spongy areas in my flooring, and I was afraid it might be a foundation issue. Mason took his time inspecting everything -- he looked at the flooring, went under my home (I have a crawlspace), and checked the situation carefully. What stood out the most was this: he was honest from the beginning. After checking everything, Mason told me clearly that he could not help me because my problem wasn't actually a foundation issue. He could have easily told me it was a foundation problem and charged me $10,000-$20,000 like I've been quoted before -- but he didn't. Instead, he told me the truth, explained what he believed the real issue was, pointed out a crack beneath one of the bedroom windows, and even told me who I should contact next. As a woman, I've learned the hard way that some people will take advantage and give outrageous estimates just because they think you won't know the difference. Mason did the complete opposite.
