I hire him to refinish a floor for one of my customers, after a week working on the floors they…read morewhere wrongly finish and we ask him to re do them. He re did them next week with a bad attitude, this time the floors looks acceptable but with a couple of minor imperfections. I pay him 50% of the contract and hold the other 50 % to wait that he finish it properly. He didn't finish it completely and sent me an invoice overcharging me the square footage for over 200SF. I invite him to measure them with me to agree on a total that he refuse to do. Is not the first time he does a job for me and he have to go back and fix it. There are better companies than JVS, stay away from them.

There so many thoughtful touches, a pathway for my dads wheelchair, mulch barriers from my neighbors wild flowers, storage for our kayaks. The transformation was huge, it's like a whole new house. First job: great Second job: decent, but some of the plants…read moreweren't the greatest quality and had to chase around quite a lot to get them to replace. Third job: (Last fall) paid for manual pulling/removal of Bermuda grass from garden beds, plus weed control and mulch. Emphasis on manual removal - explicitly was told they would pull all the Bermuda out manually to get all the roots out. Took a bit of chasing around to get them to actually get it on the books, and then when they did come they just buzzed everything with a string trimmed and sprayed weed killer over that. We agreed to still pay the full price on the condition that Gairy would send a team out in the spring once the Bermuda woke up and inevitably came through the mulch since it wasn't removed. He agreed, and we left it at that. Flash forward to this year and has completely ghosted us and been non-responsive. Even tried asking about having a bunch of other services added so that it wouldn't be a totally free trip, but still No luck. We finally gave up on any hope of getting the promised services, hired Mr. Outdoor Living, dropped like $4K on services with them instead and will be sticking with them next year when we do a sprinkler system and stone retaining walls.

Jeff came by and gave us a fair estimate and good recommendations to improve the overall layout of the proposed design. We had a general idea of what we wanted and Jeff helped point out different perspectives that we greatly appreciated. All their crews were booked up with work for several months in advance, which told me that A LOT of people were eager to use this company. Now that the deck is finished I can see why. The quality and craftsmanship is incredible and impressed my general contractor father. You can tell this was a very experienced crew that got the whole project done in a little over a week, which is amazing. We opted to go with a higher tier Trex plank material for its low maintenance and durability. The price was fair (middle of the road from the other estimates I got) but the overall value was outstanding when you see and feel how sturdy and well constructed it is.
