I absolutely love this place! It is my weekly Self-care spot!…read more Why you may ask? I'll tell ya! A few years ago I had to cut my hair up to my chin because of how badly my hair had continued to break off and give itself a non intentional mullet looking cut. Gross right? And what was even grosser was the Well Water I had to use at home that made my hair break off even more, feel like straw and turn my blonde hair copper. I would have to go back monthly for my hair color to go back to platinum ashy blonde, use a purple shampoo religiously and wash my hair daily. For the past two years I had been trying to grow back my hair that was once long, thick, and healthy. And nothing was working, not even Biotin Vitamins. Ever since I started going to the Glossarie, I can go without dying my hair for 3 to 4 months. Holy Crap! Right? My last hair appointment was 40$ for a haircut. I usually have to spend over a hundred every time I go in there. The last time I spent 40$ on a haircut was maybe when I was in the 6th grade. Anyways.... It gets better! My hair that I use to wash daily, I now only wash twice a week. Once I wash it myself and the other time is at the Glossarie. But Wait.... there's more! My hair has grown significantly!!! Many people will ask me if I have extensions in because they don't believe that my hair could have possibly grown that fast.... but it did! I can now wake up, roll out of bed for work, and not have to touch my hair for 3 to 4 days. My hair is incredibly healthy and LONG! My hair color holds and I've even managed to get my hair back to its natural color. I've had many people go way out of their way to come up to me to comment on my hair color and ask where I get my hair done. (I literally had this lady that turned her car around in the parking lot to come drive by me and roll down her window to ask) Lastly, (I know you are probably thinking how could there possibly be more, but there is!) the IGK Product that they use is amazing. I have found myself to become a Product junkie purchasing a new IGK product every time I go in there. Courtney Steele is extremely informative when it comes to educating customers on the products that they use. Speaking of staff, they are great! I have my regular appointment weekly with the same hairstylist. I already have him scheduled out for the next two months as they have a easy app that allows you to schedule your own appointments at any time in the day and also modify your appointment if you need to! I could keep going on about how much this place has changed my life for the better. I wake up daily feeling confident and no longer embarrassed of my hair. #NoBunsNecessary I'm not usually even the type of person to write a review about a place, but I am just incredibly impressed.

I am very disappointed with our latest trip to Dry Bar. My cousin got married on Friday and so I…read moremade two appointments - one for me and one for my sister. We first sat for a consult and my sister was very clear about she wanted. I was a little more laid back - I even told the woman, "I trust you" after telling her that I wanted, "volume that would last all night - but I don't want to look like Dolly Parton" (not that there's anything wrong with that look... not for me). I never should have told her I trusted her. That's on me. Anyways, we went back to get our hair washed and my sister and I hadn't really begun to talk - then the gossip between the stylists begun. They talked and talked and talked about their boyfriends, what their plans were for that evening, and how excited they were to be done with our hair so they could enjoy the sushi that awaited them in the break room. I don't get to see my sister often so I was really looking forward to enjoying this hair appointment to catch up. That didn't happen at all. My personal hair stylist's boyfriend came into the shop and took her keys. It was clear he was doing a diagnostic on her car. He kept going and coming. He took 3 sets of keys and did 3 different checks on different stylist's cars. This strange 3rd party character was off putting to say the least. They kept yelling across the salon to him when he was inside and talking about him while he was outside. Total middle school girl gossip during a $59 blowout (x2). It then became apparent to me that my stylist's plan for the evening was more important than my hair. I asked for volume - she used rollers. Rollers need hours to set in order to curl. She should have used a curling iron on my hair. Especially after telling her my hair doesn't typically hold a curl. I told her I wanted volume. My hair came out pin straight. She asked me if I like it and I said yes because if i told her the truth, we would have been late to the wedding. I didn't have time to listen to more gossip, debate prices, or get my hair done a second time. I had to ask her for a middle part because she parted my hair on the left without asking. Then when I got home I saw she hadn't even parted the entire center. I had to fix the part so it was straight. I was so mad I didn't get their names but we tipped them via Venmo (they asked us too - sketchy?! Isn't this a nationwide chain? Why are we using Venmo at all?) so I do have those records. Totally disappointed. BUT still have a 20% tip. Left 5 pictures of STRAIGHT hair. No volume at all. Don't visit this location. Total waste of money.

This is a pricey salon ($200-300, gratuity included, for a cut and color), but when you invest with…read morethe right stylist, you get more than the service you pay for. I've cut and colored my hair at home for ~20 years between sporadic/infrequent visits to budget salons to fix mistakes (both netting mediocre results at best). I leave each of my appointments at Ello Pretty confident, with healthy hair and a cut designed for low-effort maintenance + sustainable grow-out. I understand that not everybody feels comfortable walking into the space (I don't love feeling like a misfit in a room full of confident babes, either), but once I'm in the chair, I completely forget there's anyone else around; Lauren treats me like an MVP every visit and I genuinely feel like I'm having a conversation with an old friend. Never do I feel judged, nor like I'm boring her or wasting her time. I don't feel forced into uncomfortable small talk since the conversation flows so naturally; she's smart, professional, and sincerely cool. It's worth reiterating that the price of your visit ALSO includes intangibles like active listening. Lauren encourages me to share my ideas, photos, million questions, and requirements before we start. Any concerns, re: texture, length, complimenting my skin or face shape, color, maintenance, styling, etc. are addressed fully and thoroughly, and she checks in with me several times throughout the appointment to make sure we're still headed in the right direction/achieving the results I want, offering me the control to change my mind, ask questions, or fine-tune along the way. Never have I felt so in control of my appearance, nor had as much trust in the person doing the work - she always knocks it out of the park. The wait to see her can be long, so once you're sold, book an entire series of appointments!
