I believe he has the intuition and sensitivity it takes to tune into a paerson' constitution, temperament, metabolism and more. His consultation is brief. The herbs Dr Wong prescribes, and need to be cooked at home in a non-corroding ceramic or enamel pot, are inexpensive, effective and have no side effects, unlike Western alopathic pharmaceuticals covered by insurances.

But I'm going to try my darnedest, cause I'm writing a review and words are, how do you say... Very important. Late last year I threw out my back at work, followed by my first ever tension headache (HOWCANPEOPLEGETTHOSEREGULARLY?) I did my regular "help I've screwed my back up AGAIN!" call to my chiropractor, who was able to reset things, but unable to relieve me of all pain. My dad emailed the lady he knows who massages. I was a bit hesitant because my dad has seen some pretty strange people in the past, I'm glad I was in such pain that I agreed to pick up whatever appointment Emily had available. It was one of the best decisions I made in 2010. I hobbled in to see her on a Saturday afternoon, I was surprised to find that she was not much older than I, very professional, and when we went over the little intake form her questions and comments were not only valid, but she seemed to take an actual genuine interest in how my (very physically demanding) job affected my general health. I have, in the past been underwhelmed with massage experiences because I feel like they worked too lightly on me- Emily was able to get in and really work the knots outta my muscles without it being uncomfortable. A good balance of strength and knowledge! She's now become the go-to for my dad, mum and I. I have finally been able to recommend somebody who is affordable, easy to contact and schedule with, and nice. She also let me know about a great deal this December where you could buy 4 gift certificates for a discounted rate and get a free massage for yourself - I was able to make my mum, aunt, and a couple friends happy to receive the gift of relaxation, while shopping local and getting a little something for myself!

So far I've felt huge tension relief and I'm able to focus at my sit/stand desk at work. Plus, my carpal tunnel has started to ease up after appointments. The space is warm, calming, and welcoming. They always have water and tea to help hydrate before or after appointments. Ball Sq is an easy walk from Davis, and there's plenty of parking to be had.

As he is not the first acupuncturist I've seen, I speak from a small base of experience when I say that he does excellent work. So good, in fact, that I go to see him weekly, whenever I can. I appreciate his style, which is very slow and thorough. He does a complete profile every visit before he begins, and works on supporting trouble areas as well as relieving problems in the short term. I can most sincerely recommend him, if you are considering acupuncture for any reason, give him a try. Tell him I sent you!

My first bout of sessions was to treat depression, insomnia, stress and related issues. The results varied and my lifestyle wasn't helping much. In more recent times (past 9-10 months) I returned to PJ to address injuries / emotions. The treatments have really amazed me. I hyper-extended my knee and pulled my hamstring within days of each other -- both were injuries I'd had before but didn't properly heal, in particular my knee pain which has been chronic for three years. After some time in acupuncture my hamstring is 100% again (when before it still never felt quite right) and my knee pain is substantially diminished and even feels normal from time to time. It's amazing! I know I sound like a commercial saying this, but I got to a point where I never thought I'd be able to sit in my chair without feeling constant (if dull) pain again. Emotionally, the treatments have been pretty potent. A few times I started crying involuntarily, one time I saw brilliant colors. I usually feel pretty drained after sessions, but I take it to be a generally good thing. He also has a really good treatment to clear nasal congestion. It kind of sucks, but it works.

I think she has a good heart. But I don't think she should be working right now. She needs to choose between her job as a healer and her job as a nurturer for her child. Her communication timetable is not reliable, which was evident in that it sometimes took her quite a bit to get back to me. This hit particularly deeply when, in the middle of herbal treatment (during the pandemic, no less), I gave her an update and asked a few questions and then didn't hear back from her for over a month. It wasn't that my email was missed, or that it went to a spam box. She just left it. To her credit, she apologized about this, but being as I had explained to her my experience with other doctors and healers not listening to me, I was so disappointed that I just give up on her entirely. It was the final nail in the coffin that has made working with her feel completely unreliable. Who would want to work with someone to heal who you have shaky confidence will actually be there for you? It's, perhaps, a case of "taking on more than you can chew." I hope one day Marilyn is able to figure out how to strike this balance so that it is easier for her future patients to have faith in her.

But the pain always came back within the next hour. Someone suggested acupuncture, but I was hesitant. Then one day, I mustered up the courage to try it out, and that's when Sharon did wonders to my neck and pain areas. Sharon is one of the acupuncturists at this clinic. She started out by asking a lot of questions to figure out where exactly the pain was and how long it was going on for. And after that, all I had to do was relax and let the wonders of acupuncture do its work. At the end of it, I felt relaxed and I was able to freely move my neck again! I'm no longer afraid or hesitant of acupuncture; rather, I'm very thankful and it's something I want to encourage more people to explore. If you're experiencing any pain, if massages and spas and chiropractor treatments don't seem to work, try acupuncture! And I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with Sharon at this clinic!

Instead of finding that, I found a practitioner who embodies the attitudes that perpetuate the inequalities of the contemporary healthcare industry. Additionally, her paperwork system is concerning from a liability standpoint. Went in to get acupuncture for ADHD and gut issues. Maura missed my call, and did not call back until the late evening that day. She did not take down my info, and did not provide her email. Instead, she asked me to use the email link on her website so that she could email me the intake forms. The link did not work, and I attempted to contact her about the issue, but had no response. On the morning of my appointment, I got a text from her asking for the email. if she can text me, I assume she has the technological capability to take down my email and send me my forms myself. she finally sent me the email, which was very informal. we had discussed payment previously, and was left with the impression that I could pay with a debit card. the acupuncture was fine. I have had multiple practitioners, and she's competent. but, she was very cold, adrupt, and unwelcoming. after the session, she told me to leave the money or check in the bowl, and I apologized for the misunderstanding. I went to find cash, which took about 10 minutes due to the location of the nearest ATM. afterwards, I gave her the cash, and she was upset with me for keeping her so late, and said I needed to read better. She was treating me for ADHD, which is a lack of executive function. as a result, I struggle with coordinating things, and can miss the small details. her rude dismissal of me and my condition completely erased any of the benefits the session. I actually gained an inch or two in height, and even my mom would be proud of my posture now. My core is straighter and clothes fit better. My shoulders are even, and my right shoulder (chronic bursitis from playing competitive tennis) feels so much better than it used to. I had never done it before so have nothing to compare it to but think I can be objective about the service at Cambridge Health which was very good. My accunpuncturist (Marilyn) was friendly and thorough in her questions prior to beginning. Marilyn clearly believes in the medicine of accupuncture and helping people which got through some of my cynicism. She made me feel really comfortable and made sure I didn't have any questions or qualms before starting. I actually don't have any physical issues (knock on the old wood) aside from weak ankles from sports but it turns out that it's best to have accupuncture before you have problems as a preventive health measure. The needles did not hurt (a few stung for a second) and I could actually feel stirrings in my ankles from the needles in my scalp! The appointment lasted about 90 minutes but flew by. I am still not 100% sure about the powers of accupuncture but afterwards I had a feeling of euphoria akin to Peter in Office Space after hypnosis! I also had football practice that night and my previously sore left ankle felt pretty good. I know, it could all be in my head, but I really enjoyed the experience and made a second appointment. They are running a special right now- 50% off your first two treatments if you call before 9/15 so give it a try!
