The heel-locking mechanism was faulty, which was by no means on them. What was their fault though was subsequently mocking my understanding of gear/skiing and only finally sheepishly relenting on the replacement when I insisted they try for themselves to lock/unlock the heel and they were incapable of doing so. Their "satisfaction guarantee" is about as flimsy as the calibre of their customer service. I regret not asking around before providing Attridge's with my business, given the abundance of other fantastic local options in Vernon. Chatting with locals, I hear the store has apparently gone very downhill since management changed a number of years ago. Suffice to say, I'll not be going back. Would score it lower on the star-rating scale but sadly the option isn't available.

Had an amazing experience here at McSporties and would highly recommend others to come here for all…read moretheir ski-related needs. For starters, the people that work here are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They are incredible at what they can do with boot adjustments, was very helpful in selecting new ski boots, and did an amazing job tuning up my skis. BOOT ADJUSTMENTS: I had a very painful pressure point in one of my ski boots. I went to a DIFFERENT store down the street in the village. They tried enlarging the boot five times across three days, but the modifications they made were completely ineffective and the pressure point remained. To make matters worse, they had the gall to charge me twice for the ineffective modifications and in the end told me that's the best they can do. Then I came to McSporties and saw Mark (one of the bootfitters here). Even with just the initial adjustment, there was a huge improvement in the comfort of the boot. He suggested to ski with it for a day as it's possible to further enlarge the area but impossible to shrink it down. I ended up coming back the next day and after the 2nd and final adjustment the boot now fits perfectly, and I no longer have any issues with the pressure point. Mark also checked the canting of the boot to ensure my legs were perfectly centered in the boot. He also heated the existing liners to re-mold to my feet, which further improved the comfort of the boots. Mark did an amazing job with all the boot adjustments. Such a huge difference in professionalism, technique, and experience compared to the service I received at the other store down the street! NEW BOOT SELECTION: I came back to McSporties on another day when Beckett (another bootfitter) helped me find a new pair of boots as my current boots were getting old. Unlike other bootfitters I've had in the past who only measured length and width of my foot, he also measured the instep height of my ankles to ensure I had the correct volume of the boot. He also asked questions about my weight and ski ability to ensure I had an appropriate boot flex. He brought down multiple boots to try in both sizes rounded up and down to get a feel as different manufacturers have varying sizing. Since the store only had two models in stock that were appropriate for me, he made suggestions of other models that may be appropriate for me to try. He's very caring to ensure I pick the best boot that fits me, even if that meant I had to go to a different store to get a model that McSporties didn't carry. I very much appreciate his honesty and no-pressure to make a sale, despite all the time he spent with the boot fitting. SKI TUNING: Finally, I got my skis tuned here and they did an amazing job. They filled in a gouge at the base, and they did such a good job I have to look carefully to see where the patch was. They also sharpened and waxed my skis, and I noticed a huge difference the next day, which happened to be perfect timing for hard-packed snow conditions. OVERALL: McSporties has offered me services far better than what I've experienced at other stores in the Sun Peaks village. Although I am out of town, I will definitely be visiting McSporties again the next time I'm at Sun Peaks. I can't recommend this place enough!

Great place to buy used sports gear in Kamloops! I went…read morethere and when you first see the place, it looks like a pretty small store from the outside but you're in for a surprise because it's actually huge inside! Since it's winter, they have TONS of winter sports gear like a great selection of skis, and skates of all sizes (men's (boys) and women's (girls) they also had some snow boards but nothing close to the other two. If you're into hockey, there's also a good selection of pads and sticks (who'd ever thought buying a consignment stick!) LOL :) As an added bonus, if you buy skates, they'll sharpen them for you right in the store... always a bonus. I can't wait for summer to see what they have for bikes and other cycling gear as well and all the other things that I'd love to "need" ;-) (hey I have to find a way for it to be a "need" vs. a want ....easier to buy! Unfortunately here we are with another company in Kamloops who only supports their customers when…read moreit suits their own interests. Purchased a fairly expensive, in stock item online as a gift which ended up not being what the person wanted. Spoke with someone on the phone who confirmed that as long as the item was unused and had a receipt I could return it. Once I was able to return to the store I was told that since it was purchased online there was nothing they could do about a refund. That was after two of the employees and the owner were educated by the store manager that it somehow wasn't possible to process a refund with the company that processes their online cart yet when I picked the item up the same manager was able to process a refund for the PST that shouldn't have been charged. Seems a bit off nowadays when online shopping is pretty standard and the policies for refunds are straightforward. Anyways asked if I could at least have an instore credit since I do spend a lot on gear, nope, won't even save face and honor that. Just a dumb incompetent look on the owners face when I tried to explain this to him, then he decided to call me a liar for my reason to return. Well that doesn't help the conversation...and FYI what makes you think I would ever want to do business with your store again? Interesting how quickly you updated your return policy online after I left your store. Bravo for being such an outstanding business in our community. Buyers beware, if you're looking to purchase bike parts online, there are cheaper options with free shipping and transparent standard return policies. If you're shopping local, give Bike Cafe or Spoke a try but steer clear of this place.
