Attridge is Vernon's locally-owned ski, snowboard, and water sports shop — and our roots run deeper than most. Bill Attridge, father of our founder Jim, co-founded Silver Star Mountain Resort. That pioneering spirit has shaped everything we do since 1986.
We specialise in expert boot fitting with a Fit Guarantee on every new boot and footbed combination — our certified fitters will keep adjusting until it's perfect. Our factory-certified workshop offers ski and snowboard tuning, waxing, binding mounting, and base repairs.
In winter we curate high-performance ski and snowboard gear for freeride, freestyle, and family riding. Come summer, we pivot to the water — stand-up paddleboards, wakesurf gear, waterskis, wakeboards, and everything you need for a day on Okanagan Lake or Kalamalka Lake.

History
Established in 1986.
The Attridge story begins before the shop itself. In the 1950s, Bill Attridge co-founded Silver Star Mountain Resort — so the family name is literally etched into the mountain. If you've ever skied Attridge Face, you've ridden the ridge named in his honour.
His son Jim took that passion and turned it into a business. In 1986, he purchased Karl's Sport House on 48th Avenue in Vernon, integrated Pete's Windsurf Shop for the summer season, and built Vernon's premier year-round outdoor sports destination.
For 31 years Jim built an incomparable reputation for knowledgeable staff and genuine care for every customer. In 2017 he passed the torch to Kyle and Melissa de Hrussoczy-Wirth — long-time customers who brought 20 years of ski industry experience to continue the legacy.

Meet the Business Owner: Kyle H.
Kyle de Hrussoczy-Wirth grew up riding the mountains and lakes of Western Canada, spending 20 years working at ski hills across the country before finding his way back to the Okanagan. As a long-time Attridge customer, taking over the shop in 2017 alongside his wife Melissa wasn't just a business decision — it was the chance to continue a legacy he'd grown up admiring.
Kyle and Melissa are deeply invested in the Okanagan community and the sports that define it. Whether it's helping a first-timer find their first pair of ski boots or dialling in a setup for an experienced rider, the philosophy hasn't changed since 1986 — the job isn't done until you're having the time of your life on the mountain or the water.
