I read about Jardin des Pates and staying so close to it, we had to go. I feel like I'm on repeat here in Paris but ... whoah. To give you an idea how good the food was tonight - here's one way I can tell you: I finished my meal tonight. I N-E-V-E-R finish a meal. I have this incredibly terrible small appetite normally and though I eat all the time, I usually cannot finish a meal in one sitting but I really did it tonight! It's not like the portions were small either. The food was just THAT good. We ordered the buck wheat pasta with mozzarella and tomato sauce and the chestnut pasta with mushrooms and a decadent cream sauce. I kinda died and went to heaven here with both dishes to be honest. So, rumor has it the pasta is freshly made when you order however, it was served fairly quickly so I am not sure but the pasta was just too good, I can't even tell you. The sauces were incredibly flavorful and not overwhelming like so many places in the US tend to do. Tout etait parfait, tout simplement parfait (everything was perfect, just perfect). I'd also like to add the decor is adorable and I found it romantic, quaint and charming. You literally do feel like you're amidst an adorable garden while eating. It's so lovely, I can't even tell you! Jardin des Pates is fantastic. I highly recommend (especially for you vegetarians!) checking it out while in Paris. I'd come back with out thinking twice. Tres bien!

Have been staying in the 5th for a few months and thought I'd check Yelp to see if there were any veggie-friendly places in my neighborhood. Turns out there is one on the other side of le Jardin des Plantes, which is just a few long blocks away. The restaurant is very spacious and cute. A couple can have a bit more intimacy without it being overly expensive. I went on a Saturday night and it was barely half full, but everyone eating there seemed to be enjoying themselves. The service was extremely friendly as we moved from outside to inside to escape the spring mosquitos... and didn't look remotely annoyed to set us up with a new table. In fact, they just got friendlier. We tried two vegetarian meals... one was a rice pasta, which was akin to a yakisoba dish with tofu and lots of various vegetables. Very tasty. The other dish was the wheat pasta which tastes a bit like a margherita pizza but on wide noodles instead of pizza dough. It wasn't particularly flavorful, but it was basic and we had no problems finishing both plates. The dessert special was fresh strawberries and homemade whipped creap.. and we got the 3 flavor italian ice cream.... and I had a cognac to go with that. Very tasty desserts and we found ourselves saying, "this is a reall cute place... let's come again." Also, they spoke English quite well as they saw straight past my horrible French.

    Barley pasta with salmon

Okay after reading all the fantastic reviews I came and gave this place a try, but sadly I was SORELY disappointed. You are known for pasta so I expect your pasta to be AMAZINGG. I got the soup of the day to start which was butternut. It was a huge bowl and pretty thick. Legit like blended butternut (felt so healthy!), but lacked flavour. For the pasta I chose the barley one with salmon and cream sauce. What on earth. SO horrible! Anyone who gives this place good ratings has clearly never had good pasta in their entire life. The sauce tasted like nothing and literally was like a bit of cream mixed with water. This is the kind of pasta I imagine a lazy guy who plays video games all night makes just to feed himself when he eventually gets hungry (minus the salmon of course). I admit the salmon was well cooked and not dry, so they get points for that. Please do NOT come here to eat pasta in Paris. The worst.

Very nice cozy restaurant offering a number of vegan and vegetarian dishes. We had a gigantic plate of vegetables and a rice pasta with tofu, aubergines, mushrooms, etc. the bread, pasta, and vegetables were fresh and homemade. We arrived at 10pm and they had no problem letting us in.

Mediocre food with polite staff. Was close to our apartment so convenience was what we were looking for. Buckwheat pasta was decent.

From the host who greeted me and accommodated my slight tardiness on my reservation, to the server who took my order. The vibes here are immaculate. It's very aesthetic. I would've preferred to be on the 4th floor but the 3rd floor was unique and pretty on its own. The bar was particularly eye catching. I was also very amused by my fish shaped water bottle. Regarding the food, it was really tasty. I was starving this day, and greedily ate the whole thing. The pizza had good flavor and you could taste the fresh ingredients. It was a little floppy as it was thin crust. Unfortunately they didn't cut the slices, so I had to do it myself. Not sure if that's intentional or not. The limoncello was especially refreshing on that hot day. Please note, I did have to request ice for my water. Evidently in Europe most restaurants don't provide ice freely like in the US. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food, the allure of the restaurant, & the customer service. I highly recommend.

We settled on Ober Mamma, which had wonderful reviews. We got there, there was a line and it was raining. the chances of having a sit-down meal at this packed place were grilled, until they gave us the opportunity to sit outside. We immediately jumped not he opportunity, and immediately ordered. Franchesco came out with his wide happy smile and took our order. He a delight to have wait on us. We ordered the mortadella with pieces of parmigiano, a Smoking Hot pizza, and La Fameus Pate a la Truffe. We also ordered a nice bottle of wine from Sicily, Franchesco's homeland. The pizza and the pasta came out first, and we started eating right away. The pizza had the right amount of heat, and the pasta was not overwhelmed with truffles. Then came the mortadella which was delicious. We would have preferred the mortadella first, but we happy ate it. Inside, the place is huge, and loud. The ambiance is modern and feels upscale. As with all places in Europe, the temperature inside was hot- so we were actually happy to be sitting outside. Luckily we were not getting wet under the awning, but it was cold. Luckily, this place also provides blankets for your legs which we happily used. At the end of our meal, Franchesco brought us some Lomoncello and hung out with us telling us about Italy & France. We had an amazing evening, great food, and even better company. Give this place a try. You will not be sorry.

Now food, mama Margherita pizza was freshly made so you have to really wait it out before taking a bite to ensure you don't burn your mouth. Pizza was evenly baked and crust was even yummy. Mozzarella cheese bites were the winner of the evening. So good the crumbs that covered the cheese were just wow. So tasty we ordered 3 servings of it. We ordered a small salad which was a generous portion for all of us. Good variety of wine list and very reasonably priced. Tiramisu was one of the dessert options and every bite met all our expectations. Overall great experience here they do squeeze a lot of people in there so you could be elbowing your neighbor on another table.

The story goes that I and the rest of my Nintendo of America colleagues had just finished up a very exciting business conference with our friends over at Nintendo of Europe. After wrap up, we decided to take a small tour around the lovely city of Paris. I, of course, took note of all of the similarities between the real Paris and the version seen in the Mario Kart Tour mobile game. I have to say, Nintendo hits it out of the park once again. We then decided to stop inside the Gemini, since that seemed to be the only restaurant name that I could pronounce. I decided to order the Truffle Pizza, and since I am from New York, I love a good pizza. The first bite and it was already heaven on earth! Truly authentic French food being served at this wonderful establishment. I am also very glad that the waiters entertained my shenanigans when asking them what they thought about Mother 3. I had a good laugh after they didn't even know what I was talking about. Excellent service, great food, and an overall fantstic time for any Nintendo fan wanting to stop in and admire the beautiful jungles of France. Also, don't forget to check out Pikmin 4, which lands in stores July 21st. Thank you for reading this highly anticipated Reggie Review, and I will see you all another time, Switch fans!

Just finished a long bike ride to the Eiffel Tower and worked up an appetite. Decided to go straight to the main course. They are known for Au Gratins. My son is not a cheese fan so he opted for the norvigene (smoked salmon in dill lemon and EVOO. I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 German girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Not that five minutes is a long time to wait, but it was still worth the wait as good as the food tasted. We both enjoyed our meals.
