    Tom Kha Gai
    Tegan A.

The service was very nice and the ambiance was good as well. The coconut flavor of the Tom Kha Gai was yummy and had a light and delicious flavor. I will say I have had better, but I was by no means disappointed. The Roast Duck Noodle had a delicious broth to match with the flavors of the duck and the texture of the noodles. The ducks crisp skin added a more intricate texture and flavor to the dish that contrasted well with its other elements. The only thing I would remark on is adding less bean sprouts as they were outnumbering the noodles. Overall, was a good experience and would eat here again.

My mother in law wanted to spend time with the grandkids and we had to run errands so we decided to also get something to eat but go somewhere we wouldn't necessarily bring toddlers. My husband suggested we try this place one more time in person. (We had this to go one night a few years back and it was terrible which did not reflect the amazing reviews. If a place is bad- I give it another go around). Although it may be kid friendly, it's a tight space like most restaurants in plazas so we find ourselves hushing our toddlers more than enjoying the ambience and food in these places so if you're like us worrying about other people's comfort all the time, try it without the kids!) It's decorated with Thai culture in mind and very pretty. Upon walking in we were greeted almost immediately by a very sweet woman with a huge friendly smile The restaurant seemed very clean considering it's not new, and given all the different decorations. We ordered Krab Angels (wontons) and they were so tasty! There was sooo much stuffing in them! Our go to at any Thai restaurant are Panang and Massaman Curry. We ordered medium because we don't mind a kick. Both were top notch! Somehow we favored the Massaman over the Panang because their Massaman seems to have a unique sweetness that we haven't experienced elsewhere. With the savoriness of potatoes and nuts and the sweetness, it made it absolutely delicious! The waitress cracked jokes and laughed at our cheesy jokes as well. All in all it was such a great experience and we are so happy we tried it again. You could easily share one curry and get an appetizer or dessert and you'd most likely feel satisfied. We could have easily saved half of each curry for another meal. The price is reasonable for the amount of food you get and the quality.

Dined here during the week for lunch. We were greeted immediately and seated promptly. We ordered our usual Tom Yum Soup with chicken and Thai Basil Chicken. The lunch special also includes the soup of the day and a Spring Roll that was a surprise. Everything had great flavor and the service was good. They also have a trio of pepper sauces/flakes if you'd like to kick it up a notch, as I do. The ambience was typical for a strip center setting.

    Pad Thai with shrimp takeout

Ever since I left the DC area, I've had trouble finding decent Thai food. I'm visiting family and tried Jao kitchen. I had pad Thai with shrimp level 4 spicy and spring rolls. It was excellent! I would absolutely eat this again. I might bump down one spicy level. I really like spicy and this was just about right. I hate too sweet pad Thai...this was not. It was perfect!

I can't say enough good things about this spot. I cannot wait to go back for this again. You are greeted at the door, stellar and attentive servers and the FOOD! Pictured is the JB Tempura roll and I had the red curry chicken lunch and my bf had the beef ginger. I just left and I already want it again! Also the ambiance is very cute, lots of room for tables and well decorated. Felt very clean and cozy. We will come back soon !

A huge bowl of massaman curry. Spicy and delicious!

This Thai restaurant is in a mini strip mall and doesn't look very promising, but don't judge the book by its cover. It is really great! All of your Thai favorites and also a first class sushi/sashimi bar. The service is very attentive and there are tables and booths that can accommodate parties of various sizes. We had the basil duck and massaman curry. Both were very ample and delicious. They also have wine, beer and Sake at reasonable prices.

Jao Thai Kitchen 914 W. New Haven Ave. Melbourne, FL 32901 4.5 Stars (I went again after this review and it was even better) Arg! I stared in disbelief at yet another Thai/Sushi combo place staring up at me from my random name generator. You have got to be kidding me. How many of these hybrid clip joints have sprung up as of late? They are beginning to look a lot like Starbucks...you know, one on every corner. This time, I was headed to Jao Thai Kitchen, located in a minuscule strip mall just east of Dairy Road in Melbourne, FL. My wait staff for this culinary excursion was none other than One. While I have it on good word that One is the loneliest number, I have to admit I appreciate the new identity of using a form or letter of their actual name instead of a random generic "American" name such as Mary or Sue. This is now the 5th Thai restaurant where I encountered this new nomenclature, which is a refreshing and positive change. I asked One for an order of their Jalapeno roll, some Chicken Panang Curry and a Tuna Hand Roll. One returned at a moment's notice with our order and after snapping a few pics, I grabbed the Jalapeno Roll and commenced tasting. This exciting concoction consisted of tuna, salmon, hamachi, asparagus, cucumber, smelt roe, jalapeno and spicy sauce topped with avocado. Like all stuffed rolls, this one can trace its roots back to the California roll sans the obligatory fake crab center. I prefer this type of roll as I really don't like paying for fish masquerading as crab. There was just enough kick with the jalapeno and spicy sauce to entertain one's taste buds. Next up on the Big Boy's palate was the Chicken Panang Curry. Panang Curry has to be one of my favorite of the Thai curries. It is mild, complex and sweet with a hint of heat. This was perfectly cooked, including the tender pieces of all-white meat chicken and Thai basil, carrots and bell peppers that were fresh and obviously sliced in the back. This brings me to my Sushi join barometer of the Tuna Hand Roll. I found this one to be better than most, but it's still not quite what you would find in a traditional Sushi Ya (shop/restaurant). The tuna was a lovely shade of red and the rice was steamed to perfection. However, I found it to be severely lacking in the traditional additions one usually finds in a Tuna Hand Roll, such as a slice or two of Gobo (Japanese Burdock root/carrot or, more often, plain carrot), watercress sprouts and cucumber. This was fine, just on the simple side. It would have been rather bland on the palate if not for soy sauce. The Big Boy says, "If traditional Japanese Sushi is not your thing, for whatever reason, or you are just hankering for a hunk of raw fish and are nearby, Jao Thai Kitchen can adequately fill that sushi void."

(but also... send help)…read more Let me start by saying: I came to Osuki All You Can Eat Sushi as a normal, responsible adult. I left as a human sushi roll with zero self-control and absolutely no regrets. Round 1: "I'll pace myself." Round 2: "Okay but these rolls are tiny, so it doesn't count." Round 3: "We don't quit in this family." Round 4: I started negotiating with my waistband. The sushi? Fresh, fast, and dangerously delicious. Like... suspiciously good for something labeled "all you can eat." The spicy tuna had me questioning my loyalty to every other sushi place I've ever been to. And the fried rolls? Crispy little traps of joy. AND the vibe? Super cute, really clean, and tons of seating--so even while I was making questionable life choices, at least I was doing it in a place that felt put together and comfortable. Service was on POINT. Our server kept the plates coming like they were personally invested in my downfall. At one point I'm pretty sure they made eye contact with me like, "You sure about this?" No. No I was not. By the end, I was: 70% sushi 20% soy sauce 10% poor decision-making Would I go back? Absolutely. Will I learn my lesson? Absolutely not. Pro tip: Do not say "just one more roll." It is never just one more roll. 10/10 would roll myself out of there again.

We had some specific needs, the guest of honor is a vegetarian, very environmentally conscious and supports sustainability. Chef Danny and his wife Katie Clark created such a fantastic event that not only fulfilled the needs of every guest, but knocked it into the stratosphere. Firstly the food. The menu was so thoughtfully put together. Fresh, innovative dishes for every palate that were just so delicious and looked absolutely beautiful. Every guest was so excited about the food, it was a repeated topic of conversation throughout the event. My personal favorite was the blueberry cobbler crumble with chantilly of which I ate 5, but we'll move quickly past that...sorry not sorry. Honestly, I wish I'd had leftovers for breakfast this morning. The beautiful sustainable bamboo plates and "silverware" were gorgeous and a perfect compliment too and much appreciated by Ainsley. Next, the bar curated and tended by the hostess-with-the-mostest Katie, co-owner of Drifters with husband Chef Danny. Katie put together an array of delicious drink options around certain specifics we'd requested and ensured everyone had their needs anticipated and met instantly. Beautiful drinks in compostable drinkware and stunning edible decorations. The mocktails for the non-drinkers were perfection. Bravo! The presentation, decoration and attention to the smallest of details made the event just extra special - fresh flowers in Ainsley's school colors at the bar, gorgeous ice baths for the drinks and beautifully displayed fresh flowers surrounding the food itself, which were like works of art. Visually stunning as well as beautiful to eat and drink. Like I said earlier, they knocked it into another galaxy in every aspect. Lastly, but certainly not least, the service. From start to finish, every single member of the Drifters team made this such an easy and fun experience. The offers of help for anything we might need throughout the process was unexpected and absolutely above and beyond what was required, but we were so very grateful and appreciative of all they did. The team puts their heart, soul and love into their work and it shows in abundance. They did it all with genuine smiles on their faces; each of them happy, calm and confident, no stress, no fuss. It was a pleasure to work with them. We've been regular customers of Drifters the restaurant and now we can say that we love their event catering just as much as we love their restaurant. I'm already thinking about what next event we have coming up...I need that blueberry dessert again. To the Drifters family, thank you from our family to yours for helping us make such great memories that we'll have for years to come. We love you guys. We didn't get that many pictures because we were too busy eating and enjoying ourselves with family and friends, as is the mark of a great party, but hopefully you get the general idea

Summer time get the kids out working but having a child be your hostess is not a model for success. More on that later. We had a nice table by the window overlooking the parking lot. Let me say small is a generous characterization of the seating. But the space is well laid out and there are options. Only three tables you can actually reserve. 10 seats total. Jimmy the waiter came over and showed us the specials and the specialty drinks. We ordered wine and a beer. Then we ordered the 27 dollar lobster sunburn roll. And the wait begins. In fairness they just opened and they were slammed since they have limited reservations. Twenty minutes later the sushi shows up. Fortunately we had ordered our entrees in that time. Entrees came out finally but our drinks were empty and water would have to do. Flavor was pretty good. I had the pasta with clams that had a white sauce. The center was hot but the edges were jaut barely warm. Partner had the grouper catch of the day. The cauliflower was hot but the fish was not. And I think I know why. Two folks working front of house. The owner and the waiter. Focused on the TV not working while food stacked I the pass. The kid was hanging out and kept looking at us, don't need that. Now I heard the owner say a reservation canceled for a five top. In walks a four tip and the child obviously did not know and told the party no table available. Away walks the four top. Table sits empty rest of our time there (45 minutes). Front of house can't be a child. The flavors were very good. And with improved processes they will reach their potential. Protip: make a reservation but not for right at opening. They got slammed and the kitchen took some time to catch up. Edited for brevity. I had a much longer response submitted before.: Thanks to the owner for the reply. But that just reinforces the why we had the experience we had. Never addressed is the temperature of the food. Standards are standards. Owners make choices and those choices impact the experience. Regardless I stand by my review of our experience that night. Next time will it be different? Won't know. Since the owner basically said there are other places I can take my business if I did not like my experience.
