West Towne Veterinary Center - Our monthly Cat's Night Out events are very popular!

When I moved to the west side of Madison I was in need of a closer vet for my cat. Having had bad…read moreveterinary experiences before, I was a little fussy about who I wanted to care for my animal. I found West Towne Veterinary online and went to check it out. I got there right before closing and Dr. Ken was kind enough to take time out of his evening to tell me about their cat friendly practice and show me around the clinic, including the areas that they perform surgeries and teeth cleanings. Dr. Ken has now been daisy's vet for the past three years and I can't say enough about the exceptional care they have provided to her! From the friendly office staff, to getting her in for emergency appointments... they even have cat boarding and a cat gym! They also offer "cats night out" events where your cat can socialize with other cats and you can learn information on how to better care for your pet. And to top everything off, Dr. Ken is one of those veterinarians that paddle boards and home brews. Can't beat that-- I wouldn't go anywhere else!

When…read moreI questioned the estimate he said he might be able to lower the charges a little bit saying "I could lose my license if...". He didn't approve of my getting my kitty's meds from Chewy (drastically lower cost) or the local compounding pharmacy. Her initial prescription was ordered by his cooperating pharmacy on the east coast. 2 click pens were paid for (per my call to that pharmacy) but I was only given 1, yet paid for 2, later the 2nd was "given to me as a courtesy". The estimate was lowered from $610 to just under $200 for shots and weight, no exam. My little girl was howling and hissing after being manhandled. The building is deteriorating, walkway broken up with lots of debris, lots of scratches and chips in exam rooms, lots of overpriced "products" for sale, staff is harried and seemingly overwhelmed. We are moving on.

All Pets Veterinary Clinic & Dr. Erin Haroldson…read more I just want to take a moment to share how grateful I am for Dr. Erin Haroldson at All Pets Veterinary Clinic. As a mom to three rescue pets--Hazel, Chewie, and Choie--having someone like Dr. Erin in our corner has made all the difference. There have been a few times when I've reached out to her after hours for nonemergent concerns, and every single time she's responded with kindness, patience, and genuine care. She listens without hesitation, asks thoughtful questions, and helps guide me through what to do next. It's clear she truly cares--not just about the animals, but about the people who love them. One moment that really stands out was when I found a sudden lump on Hazel's neck. Hazel is a yorkiepoo and a former puppy mill mama who means the world to me. I panicked, thinking the worst, especially since our regular vet's office was closed. I reached out to Dr. Erin, and she immediately helped me think through what might be going on. She asked if Hazel had received any shots recently, and when I mentioned a new allergy injection the day before, she explained how that could be the cause. Her calm explanation helped me breathe again. She told me what to watch for and reassured me that I could bring Hazel in if things got worse--but thankfully, the lump was gone by morning. What really touched me was that Dr. Erin followed up to check in on Hazel afterward. That kind of care and compassion is rare. I'm so thankful for Dr. Haroldson and the team at All Pets. Thank you for everything you do to keep our furry family members safe, healthy, and loved.

I see from other reviews of ALL PETS that my husband and I are not alone in having a pet injured…read morethere and then ignored. There is an old Proverb from Portugal: "When 3 people say you are an ass, put on a bridle." The facts peak for themselves. This is a careless operation. They don't give their work proper attention, and then they could care less about the after effects. Office Mgr. Kenna replied to my exercise of First Amendment rights (to post a review online) with a THREAT to serve an injunction. This is improper behavior from anyone, especially a veterinarian facility that caused the death of a dog and ongoing grief to owners. What kind of vet clinic does this sort of vindictive behavior? No wonder that 11 years later, for the first time following the death of the dog, we have posted a review. This is not harassment. All Pets is all wrong and overreactive. Spare yourself the pain of grief; take your pet elsewhere.

A Breed Apart Animal Hospital - Charlee

We have three cats and have happily spent four years as patients/customers at A Breed Apart…read more I should say, I am a helicopter cat mom. I've read books, I'm always learning about cat history, behavior, quirks, etc. People know me as the crazy cat lady and I am a hovercraft when it comes to my cat's health. When we first adopted a cat in 2016, we lived off Gammon, so A Breed Apart just made sense. The doctors were kind and friendly. Then we got a kitten in 2017 and put both the cats on ASPCA insurance just in case. Both were adopted from shelters, so they were spayed already, but the staff at ABA has always helped us with vaccinations, check ups, strange bouts of vomiting and micro chipping. Dr. Meyers and Dr. Vanderloo are our favorites along with Julie and Chris our usual vet techs. Then in 2019, we ended up with a kitten by accident and despite having moved across town to central/East Madison, you bet we still make the drive to our vets at A Breed Apart. We had to go through the spaying process for the first time this past December and I was terrified. The vet techs here are just awesome and they dealt with my crazy mom nerves and helped calm both me and our kitten. They took her all day and did the surgery, called me and only ~$210 later, I had a fixed kitty. We came back 10 days later for stitch removal for free -- I was surprised at how easy they made the whole thing. Then there was a rough week when our first born was diagnosed with kidney issues/renal disease. I was crushed and terrified to hear that one of our kids was sick and not doing well. Dr. Vanderloo was so awesome about everything -- she had a great attitude and kept us (me) calm. She helped us put our cat on specialty prescription food and has extended our cat's life for sure. We are proud to be an ABA family and will continue to be as long as we live in Madison.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. The saying on their website: "we know your pets are family, we…read moretreat them that way" couldn't be more accurate. I took my sweet boxer Charlee here for the past 3 years and the care she received from day one was beyond incredible. While Charlee was easy to love, she had a lot of medical needs and the entire team was there not just to treat her, but to love and care for her as if she were their own. The entire team was incredible throughout and provided wonderful service, but a very special thanks and recommendation to Dr. Kate Waushabaugh and Georgia who went above and beyond for Charlee, and myself. Charlee was in the best hands...from routine care, emergencies and up to the point to when she fell asleep in this world. I trusted their care, their opinion, their service. Their primary goal is to give the best care possible and so it never felt transactional, insensitive or for profit. Dr. Kate spent countless hours with me talking, researching and extending kindness that I'm sure I can't ever repay just to give Charlee the best possible care - however we got there. Even when it came time to say goodbye, Dr. Kate stayed with us, and then walked us out without ever blinking an eye about the details. That kind of peace of mind she provided is priceless. I can't say the same for other places in the area, hence this review. There is no other place I would have trusted more with my most loved pet , and will continue to do so in the future as well. I would recommend A Breed Apart and their entire staff to anyone that is ever looking for the best, honest, thorough and beyond loving care for their furry family member.
