This is a tailor/alterations place. It's on Newtown Road. It exists…read more Yeah, there's not really a whole lot I can say about this place. I've brought two pairs of jeans here for repairs - one because I'd torn the zipper off and one because the denim had ripped and they had a big hole that needed patching. In both cases, they took a few days and then had the jeans ready when they said they would, and I think both repairs combined cost me $5. Maybe $6, but I paid cash both times and a ten would've more than covered both visits. Their sign says they do all the "normal" alterations: suits, gowns and dresses, uniforms, etc. I just haven't had to get any of that done ever - but they've done a good job with my little repair jobs.

I have been to several tailors in Virginia Beach, and Suky's is by far the best!…read more Price: the pricing is very comparable to anywhere else, if not better. I got 3 items sewn onto my uniform today and it was only $7, which is awesome. I have always used Suky's for dry cleaning as well. Turnaround time: I have never brought anything to Suky's that they couldn't get done for me to pickup the next day. If it's super busy, it might be a 2 day turnaround, which is awesome, especially considering getting this stuff done on base can take weeks (which is ridiculous, I know). Service: the folks that work at Suky's are probably the nicest people I have ever met. They're so kind, always call everyone sir or ma'am, very respectful and always in a cheery mood. They actually lift my spirit with how nice they are. If you need any of their services, go to Suky's, especially if it's for military uniform items!

The removed buttons were re-sewn on the sleeves after shortening them, and the silk sleeve liners were sewn back properly. Eda is a local Norfolk seamstress that has never steered me wrong, and has always done quality work for me. I honestly wasn't sure she was up to the task of doing the big formal stuff ($800.00+ suit) with a short turn-around time but she did not disappoint. She actually has a try on room and mirrored platform (for pin ups/visual inspection) in the back of the shop that I never knew was there. Great job all the way around and for much cheaper $$ than the "designer" seamstress/alteration folks I had spoken to prior. Eda's is indeed a full-service seamstress!
