Avoid for Immigration Exams - Extremely Disappointing and Costly Experience -…read moreI am writing to share my profoundly negative experience with Dr. Anne Rose N. Eapen's office, particularly concerning an immigration medical examination (Form I-693) for my 80-year-old mother. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a bureaucratic nightmare, costing us hundreds of dollars and significant stress. Key Issues: 1. Incorrect Vaccination Assessment & Misleading CDC Inquiry: Despite providing clear vaccination records showing my mother received a Tdap vaccine on September 30, 2022, the office incorrectly marked her Form I-693 as "Applicant does not meet immunization requirement because patient refuse Tdap vaccine." This was false; she did not refuse. For an 80-year-old from Ukraine, it's widely understood that a primary series for Tdap would have been completed in childhood, as routine vaccination programs were established decades ago. Therefore, her Tdap vaccine served as a valid booster, current for 10 years, clearly meeting CDC guidelines for adults. Dr. Eapen's office insisted on a full primary series, misinterpreting the CDC guidance and failing to consider the historical context of vaccination in her country of origin or the challenges of obtaining old records. Dr. Eapen even sent an email to the CDC that appeared to be strategically worded to elicit a response supporting her office's predetermined stance, rather than seeking an objective clarification on my mother's specific situation. 2. Outdated Form Used: Shockingly, the office did not notice that I have provided them with the old version of Form I-693 (dated 03-09-23) instead of the current 01/20/25 edition. This demonstrates a severe lack of attention to crucial details required for immigration processes, and they failed to double-check. 3. Incomplete Sealed Envelope: When we received the sealed envelope for USCIS, it contained only the signed I-693 form. None of the supporting documents (ID, vaccination records, X-ray, blood work) that are standard and necessary for such submissions were included. This oversight meant the package was incomplete and likely to be rejected. 4. Financial Burden: I went and seek another civil surgeon. This meant paying the full examination fee again to a new doctor who correctly assessed my mother's Tdap status, immediately noticed the wrong version of the form used and included all required documentation in the sealed envelope. The lack of diligence, misinterpretation of official guidelines, and failure to use correct forms and documentation from Dr. Eapen's office resulted in wasted time, money, and immense frustration. I would strongly advise anyone needing an immigration medical exam to seek services elsewhere to AVOID this office.

I always leave each and every appointment with all my questions answered. Dr. Armani was able to diagnose me in my first visit and sent me to John Hopkins which I truly appreciate from her diagnosis and referrals. I asked if Dr. Khapra was accepting new patients and the reception confirmed that she was. The receptionist then proceeded to take my personal contact and insurance info, but never asked what symptoms I was experiencing. Instead she told me the doctor's next available appointment was at the end of October, for a tele appointment. Seriously?!? Is this just about money?!? If a patient is symptomatic, why would any reasonable person think that waiting two months is a reasonable standard of care and how would she treat the issues through a telephonic appointment? This approach to practicing medicine is more akin to malpractice, not best practice. I hope others have had far better experiences with this doctor and practice. My limited interactions make me want to scream "charlatan!".

Dr. Barbara Mackie is one of my most FAVORITE referrals to give!…read more I highly HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mackie and her entire office. We have been patients of Dr. Mackie's for years (6 person family!). She is outgoing, friendly, and a direct "straight shooter". I like that. She is no nonsense, and its a wonderful comfort because you know from minute one that she is an excellent listener, and that she takes you seriously. She is extremely highly regarded here in Vienna, Virginia. When I needed an allergist for the first time in my life (long story - apparently if you aren't born and raised in Virginia, you will likely become allergic to parts of it after 3 years or something) - anyway - I posted a request on social media. Well. LET.ME.TELL.YOU. The response I received was overwhelming. Almost laughable, except it wasn't a joke. Dr. Mackie... Dr. Barbara Mackie. Barb Mackie.... etc etc etc... I figured EVERYONE couldn't be wrong - so much so that when I filled out my first form and there was a question that asked, "who referred you?" - I put "Greater Vienna" - because I had too many names to put down! She has helped us with allergies... she has helped us with asthma. She has seen us for dogged upper respiratory issues that are taking too long to go away. She is the bees' knees. We love her. The office is charming and friendly - the ladies at the front desk always friendly and happy to help. Her nurses are personable and great. Oh - and Dr. Larry Miller is great too. Though, I'm such a fan of Dr. Mackie's that I always schedule with her. This review should be a "lay up" review. If you need an incredible, compassionate, extremely capable, but also fun to be around allergist, Dr. Mackie is your doctor!
