She had an appointment scheduled weeks in advance, and at no point during the booking process were we informed of any outstanding balance. When she arrived, a front desk staff member named Camila refused to allow her to be seen until an old bill (over two years old) was paid in full. This was never communicated beforehand, despite my mother having been seen by this office multiple times since that bill was incurred. Turning away a patient at the door with no prior notice is not only unprofessional, it is a failure in basic patient care. If a balance was owed, the time to address it was when the appointment was being scheduled, not at the front door. Camila was disrespect beyond belief, she physically snatched my mother's cell phone from her hand to tell me what was owed. This kind of treatment is absolutely unacceptable. My mother is an elderly patient who came to this office in good faith to receive medical care she needed and was turned away like she was nobody. It is disgraceful, it is cold, and it reflects a complete lack of basic human decency. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

I've always been able to bring up my concerns, get the labs that I needed, and work through any concerns. I feel well taken care of at NOVA Physicians to Women and will only see Dr. Lashgari-Prather because of her kind and efficient bedside manner. She doesn't request excessive labs or procedures, but she does request the standard ones and will happily take care of labs and procedures that the patient may want. The front desk is efficient, polite, and thorough, as is the check out desk. Parking costs $7 as of 4/2023, for the whole day. There is no validation and you can pay at the pay stations with your debit or credit card. The building that NOVA Physicians to Women is located in is attached to Virginia Hospital Center and is a Mayo Clinic affiliate. Many practices attached to hospitals require invalidated paid parking and ai don't go there that often, so it's not a huge deal to me. She's never dismissed me or been condescending of me making an informed decision based on medical research or pier reviewed papers, which I appreciate. Many doctors are bothered by informed patients, so this approach is refreshing. I originally came to Dr. Lashgari-Prather whe she served as the on call doctor for a local Midwife. The prior Midwife provider was great, but her front office was rude and horrible, so I decided to become Dr. LP's patient (even though she urged me to speak with the other practice and give them another chance). When I would not do that, she was kind enough to take me on instead of letting me be without a provider. I've never regretted my decision to be her patient even though I had not received care from a Ob Gyn in 10 years (from when I came to her practice). Appointments with her are quick, but that works for me. I still get the care I need and am happy and at ease being her patient.

Luckily, she took me under her wing as one of her patients. Dr. Pick went out of her way to write a letter to get my insurance to cover my extensive Psychological Testing that was required to help her make a correct diagnosis (Bi-Polar Type 1) and later to help me register for Social Security for Individuals with Disabilities. Over the years, Dr. Pick has monitored me closely to choose the best medications for my illness, and she has made adjustments as needed. Dr. Pick worked with me and helped me in deciding how to best re-enter the workforce with my given limitations. She has guided me through four different career changes so I have been able to continue to thrive as a productive member of society. Dr. Pick has expertly guided me by sending me to other excellent specialists when she knew I needed their expertise and would benefit from their services; e.g. Endocrinologist, Neurologist, Sleep Specialist, Psychologist, for my Psychological Testing and for My Bi-Polar Diagnosis. Dr. Pick worked tirelessly on a weekly basis to correct my problem with Dyskinesia. My symptoms are now gone from her excellent medication management and careful monitoring. I would highly recommend Dr. Pick to anyone suffering with Mental Illness. Not only does she have the professional experience and expertise required to help manage and medicate these difficult and complex problems, but also she cares about the welfare of her patients and does her best to help them. I am confident that if her advice is followed Dr. Pick can help you with the Psychological issues that you are facing. Trent J.
