I went to Jane the owner to do my tattoo and had a horrible experience after it was done. She didn't do anything that I asked her to do the way that I wanted her to do it let me know that she could fix whatever needed to be fixed when I came back to let her know that the work wasn't completed She seemed very bothered and told me that she expected a tip afterwards for this the line work is horrible. The pocket watch that I got on there was not done the way I asked her to do it. The line work has bleeding on it where you can tell that the ink bled through different areas. She was just very unprofessional there is no attention to detail on my tattoo, do not recommend this place or her a lot of the lines don't even connect... another big issue was the whole time that I was dealing with the pain of my tattoo trying to focus. She was confessing a feeling telling me all of her life story everything about her and her ex I just wanted to deal with the pain and get out of there I was not a therapist for her it was way to much to handle.. which leads me to believe that she took out her frustration on me and my tattoo before her to tell me that she expected a tip when I paid her a good amount already and it wasn't even finish the tattoo she was supposed to add a hummingbird and you can see where she messed it up and turned it into a leaf. That looks very horrible. she did a horrible job to have been charge what I was charged. Now I'm having to have my tattoo removed and fixed.be prepared to wait over an hour for her to even start or to even see you at that. I really loved my experience here! The space is really nice plus they had a bathroom. The area it's in is okay, and I had no trouble finding a parking spot. I got two tattoos from Vanessa who was super sweet. My tattoos were a very reasonable price given the intricacy and size. This is mostly in regards to the service and professionalism I experienced. I had been messaging Jane to schedule a tattoo and had expected my tattoo to be done by her but when I arrived at the studio on the date and time of my appointment, she and the other guest tattoo artist seemed surprised that I was there, and Jane was working with a different person. It seems like they had forgotten about my appointment and so my tattoo was done quickly by the guest tattoo artist instead of Jane, with whom I had made the appointment. I was uneasy trusting someone to do my tattoo without any prior knowledge of their work, thankfully, the tattoo came out looking nice but I would have preferred to have been told beforehand if they had a scheduling conflict. She showed me all 3 sizes on the location I wanted before I picked one. It was a long session because of all the detail, and she was so patient with me and let me take all the breaks I needed. I hardly write reviews, but the experience I had with Jane definitely deserves one. This was my 5th tattoo, but my 1st with her. Jane is amazing at her craft. Her strokes were gentle and my tattoo is healing perfectly. Everyone who has seen my tattoo absolutely loves it. The detail and the color that she was able to create in such a small piece, is fascinating. Unfortunately, the picture just doesn't do the tattoo justice. I had never been inside a tattoo shop like hers, and now this is the only place I'll be coming to. It's a very relaxing place and it's calming while you get your work done. Lastly, Jane. She was so sweet and she took her time with my piece. She made me feel at ease. And most importantly of all, you can tell that she truly cares about her work. We found Jane's Ink to be one of those places where the artist cares and take her time to make sure you like what you request. At the end of the day, it's your own body. EDIT: (for Jane since I can't reply on here unfortunately) I think Vanessa is super talented and I'm really happy with the work she *did* do. I think she did exactly what I asked for, and I'm very happy with the style. The issue was really my experience at the shop, and that some lines aren't connected and the shading isn't finished. I'd come back in, but I'm out of state now and I think I'd prefer to have another artist I'm more comfortable with finish it. I really very much appreciate you offering, and trying to mend the situation, thank you! I've been debating writing this review for over a year, but I had a really bad experience here unfortunately and am finally ready to share it. I booked an appointment with Vanessa to have a desert/western scene background added to a large cowgirl flash I have in the middle of my stomach. I went in, fully prepared for it to be a bit of a session and painful, considering I'd already had my stomach/lower sternum done. Vanessa drew the design when I got there, which was okay but took a while-I know this can happen, but considering how thorough they were with having me send pictures and references of the design I wanted, I was surprised she hadn't done it already. Once we got started, the tattoo-which was already a painful experience-was made worse by the environment she created. I felt myself increasingly anxious, and my leg started twitching. She was so frustrated with me understandably, it made the whole thing worse as my anxiety and pain heightened. It's very clear now that it's all healed she didn't finish the tattoo. My style is traditional, which she assured me she could do, but so many lines aren't connected and other components/shading unfinished, which is incredibly upsetting because I still paid full price + a huge tip ($900 + $200). I believed for a really long time this was all my fault and was super ashamed and avoided getting tattoos because of this horrible experience. I've just started again in the past couple months and now have most of a sleeve done, including another piece on my stomach, one on my chest/upper sternum, and some on my knees. I now know I actually do sit really well under normal circumstances and have some beautiful work! I also learned how a tattoo artist is supposed to speak to and coach the client through those tattoos (ie matching up breathing and linework, etc). And while the work I got from Vanessa is very nice, it's definitively unfinished (and pointed out by most artists I see) and my experience with her impacted me negatively. I also think based on the price of work I've paid for customs and time, it was incredibly overpriced for the size and lack of detail. I see it everyday and am reminded of how scared I was to get tattooed afterwards, and how I blamed myself for the whole ordeal. I'm hoping soon to have someone else who can create a good environment finish what she started, but I'm very sad and upset I have to in the first place. read more
