Service is amazing. I had a rare Champion hoodie cleaned and it came out flawless and better than new. JaNay's is our families new home for all clothing needed to be sent to a cleaners! The staff is friendly and their patience is remarkable. Extremely knowledge and diligent. Definitely Recommend. The pricing is people and economy friendly. read more

I am pretty much a no frills clothing kind of person so I don't need dry cleaning, but maybe once a year for my nicer sweaters etc. I needed to get my son's shirts and pants cleaned and wrinkle free-this Momma isn't good with ironing either. The owner was so friendly and nice when I had trouble figuring out where to enter. He came out, opened the door and gave a wonderful greeting. As it turns out it had been 10 years since I was last here! Crazy right? I found the pricing affordable and the turn around was super fast. When I returned to pick up my items the other gentleman was very helpful when I asked for recommendations for an alteration/tailor shop nearby. He gave me a few suggestions and off I went. This will be my go to dry cleaning place from now on. read more

Excellent customer service. Dropped off wools coats on a Monday and ready for pickup on Wednesday Will be back

Great customer service and pricing! We've been going to Janay's for many years now. They always deliver on time!

I come here all the time. Great customer service, clothing and linen always look great afterwards. I would def recommend.

I brought in two dress shirts and clearly told the person at the counter--multiple times--not to put creases in the sleeves. He responded with, "I got you," so I expected that simple instruction to be followed. Instead, both shirts came back with deep, hard creases that now look permanent. To make it worse, there were still visible stains on the collars, which should have been handled without me having to point them out. I expected basic care and attention, and this place failed on both. I won't be coming back, and I don't recommend it to anyone who actually cares about their clothes. read more

Both the woman who did the intake and the gentleman who assisted with pickup were so kind. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost for each item (I had 2 shirts cleaned - $7 each!) as I've definitely been charged more in the past at other places. My items were cleaned and restored to their original color (white) and I even got a note from the president of the business thanking me for my business, as this was my first time here. I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a dry cleaning service! read more

Janay's Cleaners - Note from the owner - Laundry Services Near Me - Chesapeake, Virginia

They were very personable and did outstanding work, definitely will use them in the future

If I could give zero stars, I would. I walked into this business at 7:40 AM--just ten minutes after they opened--hoping to support what I assumed was a Black-owned establishment. Unfortunately, what I experienced was rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. There was no one at the front when I arrived. Eventually, a woman with a ponytail and an AirPod in her ear came from the back--already on a personal phone call. She never greeted me, never acknowledged me, never said "I'll be right with you." She just kept talking, clearly in the middle of a casual conversation. At one point, she looked out the front window toward the parking lot and said, "Yeah girl, he not here, the van is gone. That n**** on cloud nine." Still on the phone, she then put her finger up at me like I was interrupting her, then whispered, "What's your phone number?" I responded, "You don't even know what I'm here for." The person on the phone must've heard me, because they ended the call--she never did. After that, she snapped back, "But I still need your number." I told her I just wanted to know if she could press a few items today, and what time they might be ready. Her exact response? "Probably after 5." No courtesy, no explanation, no professionalism. I said no thank you and walked out. As a Black business owner myself, this is exactly the kind of experience that sets us back. Whether that woman was the owner or just someone working there--shame on you. This was probably the first customer interaction of the day, and it was handled with complete disregard. I went to another dry cleaner right after and had an entirely different experience. I was greeted, respected, and told my items would be ready by 1 PM. That's how you do business. Do not waste your time here. I don't care what color your skin is--rude is rude, and this place was the definition of poor customer service. We cannot keep rewarding businesses that don't respect the people keeping them open. read more

Customer service receives a 10/10 rating. Extremely satisfied with the cleaning service and will certainly use their services again.

Unable to do military creases, despite telling me, they know how. First order had a tag for military creases however, shirts came back without creases. They said they would fix it. Unfortunately I couldn't wait but they gave me a voucher for another time. Went back to try again, and the same thing happened. Will not be trying a third time. Nice people, wish them the best, I just don't have time to keep going back-and-forth like this read more

Clothes look great and they will clean items other cleaners won't touch in a timely manner.

New to the area. Noticed JaNay's was in the neighborhood. The staff was friendly and professional. When I picked up the order there was a personal note from the owner attached to my dry cleaning. I will continue to use JaNay's because they deserve the business with that kind of attention to detail. read more

I brought my Tahari Blouse in for a cleaning, nothing was wrong with it , just wanted it cleaned for the holidays, it was my favorite blouse. When I picked it up it had a big spot on the front from something they used on it. I don't know what! Needless to say it is ruined and I asked to speak to the manager so he or she can reimburse me for the loss. I called several times and went in person and the manager or owner will not call me back. Please don't go here they truly don't care about customer service nor do they know about treating fabrics. read more

Best in the business and always courteous ! I would highly recommend this as a trusted establishment in providing care for your clothing

I had janay's clean my king sized comforter. I am very sensitive to fragrances. They reassured me that they don't use anything that would leave a scent. They were correct! Just smelled nice and clean. Almost like it was line dried! I will bring all my items to Janay's! read more

I needed a formal gown cleaned in less than 24 hours due to a chocolate milk mishap. Not only did JaNay Dry Cleaner service have it cleaned and pressed but they had the dress ready 2 hours sooner than promised. Professional staff and wonderful service... I was in town from Utah, and needed a suit cleaned quickly. JaNay's was very accommodating and very reasonably priced.

Very few actually knows what happens at a dry cleaners. Do they really clean your things? Is it actually dry? Do they just Febreeze the heck out of whatever your bring them? Who irons your dress shirts and how long does it really take? Is there a secret stash of items that they take from you? (Do you even remember everything you dropped off?) Do they have random games inside the facility where they see how long you can hang on the rotating rack as it moves? So many questions. Very little answers. Why am I even writing this review? Here's what I do know. I'm pretty sure most of everything I've given them has come back. The shirts are pressed. The clothes feel clean. I don't care if they cleaned them with chemicals or washed them. Heck, I don't care if someone working there borrowed a shirt or tie for personal date and then cleaned up nicely for me. I just know that I get my things back fresh. Oh, and they took care of the duvet my dog threw up all over. read more

See all

I have a comforter set, 1 king comforter and 2 shams. I use and hand wash my shams all year long. For the last 3 years, the comforter has been on the floor as as a mat for kids and pets. Janay's not only cleaned the comforter, took out the stains, but it is as bright as the shams, without any fading! I will now use it again as a matching bed set. I am super impressed. read more

I moved to the area this past summer and used a few different dry cleaners near my work and house but now I use Janays, exclusively. The customer service is awesome, and that's an almost obsolete trait in businesses today. The lady working the counter greets everyone with a smile and even knows customers by-name when they walk in. The prices are fair and they take pride in their work. I can't say enough good things about the business, overall! read more

I took my suits to JaNay's Cleaners and the customer services was excellent. I was only in town for the weekend and this was able to have my clean and done before left town two days later. Thanks to Janays for your speeded service. read more

Forgive me for having possible grammatical errors as I'm using my talk to text on my iPhone because I'm lazy but I didn't want to forget to leave this review!! This is my first time using this cleaners and I am so thankful that my 20 year relationship with a different cleaners referred me to them ironically!!! I brought in in a full white linen suit to my cleaners on Tuesday for a all white cocktail party that my husband and I are attending on Saturday and my cleaners said that they were afraid to take it in as they didn't think they could clean it well and give it back to me the way I would have liked and recommended Jay Nay's cleaners as they said they have heard great things about their ability to clean such material. Swear I wish I had taken a before picture as I will attach a finished/After Photo but you seriously would not believe the difference!! I called but could not get an answer on Tuesday or Wednesday as I was afraid to waste the trip in case they would tell me they would not be able to produce the results as well.... so by Thursday afternoon I thought what the heck I will just take it there in person because I could not get anyone to answer the phone. I'm so glad their lack of response to incoming phone calls did not inhibit my eagerness to get this dang suit cleaned for my husband (cuz he does look fly as he!! in it). The girl that helped me at the front desk was very pleasant and told me they could definitely get it done for me in such short notice I said I would come by Saturday to pick it up before the event and she assured me that it would be done by Friday late afternoon!!! SAY WHAY??! Friday afternoon I called around 330 and someone answered on the second ring was very nice gentleman who only needed my last name to check came back to the phone to tell me that my garment was ready for pick up. I cannot believe how good this suit looks right now!!! Thank you SOOOOOOO MUCH Jay Nays for being so freaking awesome!!! You guys help me out in a pinch and did way more than I expected because when I brought this thing in it was tore up!!!! But now my husband will be lookin good Saturday night!!! read more

I have always had great experiences with Janay's dry cleaning and I've been going there for 3 years now. There are super efficient and I get most of my items back extremely quickly. I've never had to take anything back for poor quality of work. I've even taken in a few of my dress pants to have minor alterations and I get those back very quick as well. On top of everything, every employee I've encountered at Janay's has been extremely friendly. You can tell this is a local business that is customer service oriented and really cares about making their customers happy over the long term. I highly recommend this business. read more

My brother was in town and needed his white coat to be dry-cleaned within two days! We drove all over town before I remembered that I used to go to Janay's Cleaners near my nursing school. His white coat was able to be dry-cleaned, pressed and starched for next-day pick-up for a small, additional fee. The lady at the front service desk was professional and accommodating. Since Janay's Cleaners first opened, I would occasionally drop off my clothes here while on the way to class in Chesapeake. The dry-cleaning services are done in-house, which accounts for the business's speed, quality and decent prices. I still do not mind driving the distance for great dry-cleaning. read more

Ja Nay's was absolutely wonderful. I needed the dress my mother was going to be buried in dry cleaned. We had made some calls, and Ja Nay's could get the dresses (I hadn't decided which one yet) back to us the soonest, and when I explained the situation, they said they would get it back to us even quicker. They were so incredibly kind and didn't hesitate. They ended up calling me they very next morning and let me know the dresses were ready, even sooner then they had said. They were so compassionate and I highly recommend them. read more

I bring my husband's military uniforms here. They are quick and inexpensive. We have had bad experiences at chain dry cleaners.
