Dr. Bourgeois is incredibly knowledgeable, gentle, and down-to-earth. He listens carefully, explains things clearly, and truly cares. He has helped us with many issues over the years involving elbows, legs, knees, feet, ankles, back areas, and more -- always with patience and expertise. When something was outside dermatology, he respectfully guided us to the right specialist. The staff deserves just as much praise. Lilly and Madison at the front desk are consistently kind, patient, and professional, making check-in and scheduling smooth and stress-free. Nurse Taylor is wonderful -- attentive, calm, and reassuring. Rhonda, Kailey, Allison, Angelica, Denise, and Lydia have all shown genuine care, kindness, and professionalism over the years. I've been a patient at Dermatologists of Birmingham (formerly Shelby Dermatology) for several years now. Dr. Bourgeois is the guy I see and he's always very professional and extremely friendly (I wish all doctors had as sunny of a disposition as his). As far as care goes, he's thorough but fast, which is great. He asks questions and listens intently to the ones I have for him, but I love that I'm almost always in and out of this office within a half hour of arriving. The nurses and reception staff are polite and professional as well, so it's always a pleasure checking in and out. If you live in the Helena/Pelham/Alabaster area I highly recommend this place (and especially Dr. Bourgeois). Always a great experience.

So I got my eyebrows microbladed about 8 weeks ago. In the before pics, you can see that I do have…read morebrows, but they are fairly thin throughout and especially sparse towards my nose. This was something I researched and read about for a good year and a half before finally getting done. While I have used a pencil and then brow gel for the last 5 years or so, I was tired of spending time on my over plucked brows and just wanted a good filled in look that I didn't have to do anything to! And over all, it has been an extreme success. I've saved so much time in the mornings not having to fool with my brows. Now, I will say that my brows are not even and I am waiting to do my follow up appointment to hopefully fix. But as a day to day, what I have works. On the other hand, I also got an eyebrow lift/perm. That didn't take at all. I was extremely disappointed in the outcome from that and would not recommend that at all. I've gotten it done several times before in another city, so I know what it's supposed to look like.

When she started she asked "your back is shorter than the front do you want me to leave it or make it all one length" this was left over from my bob days so now with my hair at my shoulders I told her to even it out..... thirty minutes later she handed me a mirror to reveal a front that ended at my chin and a back almost to my shoulders this woman gave me a MULLET!!!!! Mortified I told her thank you paid her the $45 she charged me for this disaster and ran to my car to put it up and hide what I could. I don't even know what options I have to make it look better with out cropping back to a chin length bob and loosing a years worth of growth. I guess my summer will be spent in hats......???

I'd barely call it a polish change let alone a manicure. No lotion, no cuticle trimming, they did file them. They look terrible, one nail the polish is already coming off a few other the polish is smudged and not well done at all. I won't go back for them to fix it because I don't want it drilled off (so soon) and further damaging my nails.
