    I was looking for a gym with a pool near me and Josy's ad popped up first (don't know why - she's…read morenot a gym and doesn't have a pool). I chalked it up to fate and contacted her. I began working with her 2 months ago. She comes to my house 2 days a week and works me thoroughly, but also stretches me out at the end. I dread the days she comes, but look forward to how great I feel afterward. And I've lost almost 10 pounds. More that all that, though, I was in constant pain before I started working with her, and I rarely have pain now. If you're looking for a trainer that comes to your house (a big perk), you have to give Josy a try. You won't be sorry!

It's not been my favorite studio overall, but they offer convenient times for classes and the workouts are always great, even if the classes aren't full or super high energy. The two coaches I've had have been friendly and do a great job during classes to help correct your form or keep you on track. There are so many positives so let me start with the fact that you can sign up for a free, no strings attached trial. I downloaded an app, logged in, and whenever I wanted to attend a class I checked the days schedule and booked it. The app doesn't tell you how full a class is, but the website does. I did five classes all week and I think the hardest class was Wednesdays Docklands. I was sore all over and drenched. The classes switch focus from day to day. Some days you are working on more strength based exercises, some days you are shooting for a high heart rate, and some days they mix the two. All the classes in every F45 worldwide is the same on any given day and they change the classes every 10 weeks. You won't be stuck or bored doing the same thing week to week. The owner Chris is very nice and personable. The coaches are fit and illustrate good form when they run through their exercises at the beginning of each class. They encourage you when you are huffing and puffing. They will correct you when you are doing something wrong so you don't hurt yourself, which is super important. They are also just nice and positive. They motivate each person in class to strive for their best. That may be the number one best thing I can say about F45. If you are shooting to shred some fat and gain some muscle F45 is a place where you can make that happen. If you can eat healthy to go along with consistent visits you will be looking different in a few months. I purposefully went the whole week before I asked about membership. I really wanted to get a feel for the gym without thinking is this expensive or worth it. Prices vary based on how much you visit, which is to be expected. It is about eight times more expensive than my current gym, but twenty times better. If you can afford it and take advantage of what you pay for then you won't regret it. I can totally see the coaches encouraging you to come in or not miss a day, so you hit your goals. F45 is new so everything inside still has a nice new look and feel. If you are used to doing your own thing at a box gym, this experience is different, but not bad. Classes last about 45 min with one class a week going a full 60 minutes. No more wasting two hours at a gym slowly going between exercises and hearing bro's grunt as they try and out peacock each other. In all honesty you will mostly zone everyone out during your workouts here as you will be working too hard. I am not sure yet if I will join, although I loved my experience, but you should definitely take a look for yourself. I had a great week and you will too.

Excellent instruction is provided but the rest is up to you. You have to want it and if you do everything you need is there for you to break past what you think you're capable of and exceed your own expectations. I took the Booty Bootcamp class on Friday evening then got all bold and took the Striking and Conditioning class Saturday morning. I can say that both were tough for me but in the best way! I love the one on one attention to form and how I'm allowed to realize my own potential. Sure I was pushed beyond what I thought I could do. However there was a space where I saw that I needed to decide what I desired because that will help my trainers to better assist me in getting there. I showed up wanting to improve my health by improving my body. I left knowing that there's much more to this for me than that. I'm up for the challenge! It's all about smaller classes for a more personalized and individualized approach. There are also semi-private and private training sessions available in addition to Bad Ass Barre. It's been just about 7 months since the doors opened and I know Jax Fitness Academy will be around for decades to come.

It is HORRIBLE. I hate gyms and the overwhelming feeling of starting another plan to work out - but I had to. THEN I met Coach Chad. This guy is amazing; super smart about strength training but also really focused on being safe at whatever level you come in at. I come in complaining about pain in my knees and back and every time I train with him I feel I am getting stronger and doing work on my weaker areas. It feels like strength training and physical therapy with one stop in my day. The environment at the gym is fun, serious, energized, with a constant message that if you do the work today it will bring positive change tomorrow. All my sessions are different and individually planned for me. Coach Chad is definitely not boring! I really appreciate that while I am complaining that I don't want to be working out he is telling me what I am capable of and that I just need to commit to show up, keep going and the motivation will come. JSA is brand new, the equipment is incredible, Chad is awesome and it's really fun to watch the Olympic Weight Training clients while you work out! I seriously recommend going in and checking it out.     For many months, I'd been struggling with chronic lower back pain. I was getting chiropractic…read moreadjustments, doing rehab, and finally had to get a cortisone shot to put the constant pain at ease for a moment. It was the one thing I was trying to avoid, as I do my best to heal naturally and without meds when I'm hurt. I told myself that I would do it anyways with the intention of going back to a gym after the shot and strengthening my core so I can avoid this pain even after the shot wears off. I needed guidance, though. I have learned from the many years of doing any kind of exercise on a solo basis wasn't doing the job. Either I wasn't motivated enough to push myself hard enough or I wasn't aware of the bad form I was using or I was just doing exercises that would exacerbate my back and knee issues. I did a lot of research, as I do, and thankfully found this gem (get it?) Colin got in touch with me and I mentioned my health concerns ad nauseum. He made me feel very comfortable and confident that I could do this program while also preventing future injuries. The first week was rough. I thought I was still somewhat fit, but was slapped in the face with reality. I was determined at age 39 to get in better shape so that I avoided my back issues in the future. That first month took a lot mentally and physically, but the coaches were there the whole way to help when I had questions or concerns with any particular exercise. They alternate metabolic and strength training days from Mon-Sat and have several classes each day. The classes are going to involve a lot of body weight training combined with some free weights. You will be active 95-100% of the 45 minute class. They stress, constantly, the importance of using correct form which is an absolute must in keeping your joints protected. Fast forward nearly 7 months and I'm absolutely sure that I made the right choice here. Owners/Coaches Colin and Adam are exceptionally committed to their community and to your health. They check on you outside of the class and provide helpful tips in whatever you might be struggling with. Part-time Coaches Jillian and Brian are pretty amazing as well. You won't be disappointed with the people here. My previous constant back pain is gone and I'm feeling stronger every month. I could not recommend this place enough and I look forward to further growth as I continue my journey with TFW.

I ate terribly and felt miserable all the time. I was a pre-diabetic. My blood pressure was elevated. I knew I needed change. Then I met Coach Adam, Colin and Jake. Coach Adam sat down with me and we went through nutrition, eating habits, goal plan & more. I was nearly 26% body fat. The first week was tough. The practices are meant to push you. The coaches encouraged me to go further while helping me know my limits. 6 months later I can say I never expected to be where I am today. I've had to buy all new clothes. I'm eating better than ever before. I'm NO LONGER Pre-Diabetic and my blood pressure is normal. I have dropped 61 pounds while gaining muscle weight and dropping fat.
