Specialties
HyperSwole is a strength and conditioning gym in East Arlington built for real coaching, flexible access, and recovery. Our specialty is 1-on-1 personal training with individualized programming, hands-on form coaching, and accountability, so you can build strength, lose fat, improve conditioning, and feel better in your body without guessing what to do next. We also offer gym memberships with optional 24-hour access, making it easy to train early, late, or whenever your schedule allows. Nutrition support is available too, with practical guidance focused on sustainable habits, better energy, and long-term results (not crash diets). To round it out, we offer recovery options like sauna and cold plunge to help you bounce back, manage stress, and stay consistent. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, you’ll find a clean facility, structured support, and a community that keeps you showing up.
History
Established in 2017.
HyperSwole was founded by longtime personal trainer and gym owner Matthew Thornton, who built the gym around real coaching, hard work, and a community that shows up for each other. After Matt’s sudden passing, Rachel and Chris Phillips took over in 2023 to carry his legacy forward and protect what made HyperSwole different from day one. Since then, they’ve focused on strengthening the culture, improving the member experience, and continuing to evolve the gym while staying true to Matt’s original vision. Today, HyperSwole is proud to be a place where people come to work hard, get stronger, and leave better than they arrived.
Meet the Business Owner: Rachel P.
Rachel Phillips is the co-owner of HyperSwole and a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and NASM Certified Nutrition Coach. She’s known for bringing calm structure and consistency to training, using a “Kaizen” mindset, which is the idea that small, steady improvements compound into big results over time.
Rachel works with members who want real progress without gimmicks: strength training fundamentals, sustainable nutrition habits, and coaching that meets you where you are. Her style is supportive but direct, focused on helping you build confidence in the gym, move better, and stay consistent even when life gets busy.
As a local gym owner, Rachel is hands-on with the HyperSwole community, helping create a welcoming environment for everyone from beginners to experienced lifters. Whether you’re starting from scratch or leveling up your performance, her goal is to make training feel clear, doable, and worth showing up for.
