I really love this casino. The people that work here are phenomenal! I haven't had one bad experience here! They have music some nights and you can just dance with the small crowd. Dining here is absolutely fabulous. The spa is heavenly and the rewards are good! When i first played here almost a year ago, they were giving me 500$ free play on Saturdays and during the week it was also about 500$ freeplay with crack the safe and weekly freeplay. I also got 200$ in spa and for food, 100$ at prime. I was definitely wowed by this!!! I guess i lost so much the first time they really rewarded me! After, I stopped coming around so much so ofc my rewards would wane. I love tony gwynn and Lou, the manager. I also love the lobster buffet at jamul 23. Its fabulous. Disappointing Decline in Cleanliness and Customer Comfort I have visited Jamul Casino twice within the last 30 days, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing. What struck me the most was the noticeable decline in the cleanliness of the slot machines. Many of the machines I wanted to play were dusty, covered with fingerprints and smudges, stained, and some even had sticky areas on the buttons and armrests. Several ashtrays were overflowing with cigarette butts and had clearly not been emptied for quite some time. It simply did not give the impression that the gaming floor was being cleaned regularly. I remember Jamul Casino as being exceptionally well maintained--clean, polished, and welcoming. That is one of the reasons I enjoyed visiting in the past. Sadly, that no longer seems to be the case. During both visits, I felt uncomfortable enough that my guests and I left after about 90 minutes. Another disappointment is that the casino no longer offers complimentary face masks at the entrance. As a non-smoker, I understand that smoking is permitted in much of the casino, but I appreciate having the option of wearing a mask when seated near smokers. While there is a non-smoking section, it is considerably smaller and does not offer the same variety or selection of newer and more exciting slot machines as the main gaming floor. I sincerely hope management takes these comments seriously. Cleanliness is one of the first things guests notice, and it has a direct impact on their overall experience. Until conditions improve, I'll be looking for another casino in the area, and I have shared my experience with family, friends, and neighbors who also enjoy visiting local casinos. I came here with friends after seeing it all over TikTok, and it looked like a fun spot with a great atmosphere. While the ambiance was enjoyable, the overall service fell well below expectations. The venue appeared to be significantly understaffed. There was only one experienced bartender, while the second seemed to be in training or less experienced, which resulted in long wait times for drinks. Throughout the day, the servers repeatedly forgot our orders, and we often had to remind them. Water, which was included with our daybed service, was never brought to us unless we asked. The most frustrating part of the experience was having to leave our daybed and walk across the pool area to pick up our own drinks because the servers wouldn't walk through the shallow water to deliver them. When you're paying for daybed service, you expect the convenience and attentiveness that come with it. We reserved a daybed expecting a premium experience, but unfortunately, the level of service didn't justify the price. The venue has a lot of potential, and the atmosphere is great, but improvements in staffing, organization, and customer service are needed. Based on my experience, I wouldn't return. read more

I haven't been to this casino in a long time, and honestly, it's shocking how much it's gone downhill. The entire place feels rundown now and gives off a very sleazy casino vibe the moment you walk in. I went to grab a complimentary soda, and the machine was completely turned off. I thought maybe it was just broken, so I tried getting coffee instead, but all that came out was boiling hot water. For a casino that brings in the amount of money this place does, it's unbelievable they can't even keep basic complimentary drink stations working anymore. The bathrooms looked worn out and neglected too, which only added to the overall feeling that the place just isn't being maintained like it used to be also played on four machines and the machine machines were filthy of cigarette ash and sticky residue. The atmosphere feels cheap, outdated, and honestly depressing compared to other casinos in San Diego. I would not recommend coming here at all. Recently stayed 2 nights at the Jamul Resort. We had a standard 2 queen bedroom with a mountain view. This is not a luxury hotel, I don't care what anyone says, but it is a nice hotel. The rooms are modern in design and the entire resort is very clean and well-maintained. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! And the lighting controls in the room are cool to set the right mood. There is a coffee maker and one of those mini bar fridges that charger you if you take anything out. It was full of drinks, but I could only imagine the price. The Jamul 23 buffet is located in the lobby of the hotel and there is a rooftop pool and bar. The pool area is very small and can get very crowded, especially if there is any kind of special event. You will want to get there early if you want a lounge chair, because there are not to many of those as well. And also know there is not much in the form of shade. Overall, if you are look for a quick San Diego getaway and you don't want to drive too far, this is a great option. And I imagine most people are coming for the casino, which is a decent size casino! read more

We attended a Black History Month event here on 2/28/26. It is their Annual Black History Month celebration. There is a full Soul Food dinner included in the ticket. The Rooftop is the lounge venue that this event happens in every year. It is well setup with tables, dance floor, stage, and a full bar area. They have 2 guest Unisex restrooms where you can see the view of the sports field venue below. We were seated at Table #17 and it was in a perfect spot near the center of the room. The Soul Food for buffet served dinner: Delicious and tender Braised Short Rib, Collard Greens, Green Caesar Salad, Potato Salad, Yellow Rice Pilaf, Fried Crispy Chicken Wings, and Macaroni & Cheese. They had Banana Pudding individually portioned desserts and they had Pecan and Caramel flavors. We enjoyed the servers bringing us free water, free canned sodas, and you could also order whatever you'd like from the bar for a cost. I appreciated that the Jamul President & Chairman Mary Cheeks greeted all guests with a wonderful and warm welcome statement. She asked for a moment of silence for The Rev. Jesse Jackson, and it was beautiful. Jamul Casino had TV screens throughout the property and casino paying tribute to Black History Month. The screens included notable Black people, their summary contributions/achievements, and authentic photos of each honoree. These TVs were everywhere; excellent job! There was a band that performed was great. They sere high energy and they performed R&B, Soul, & Popular songs from the 1950s to the 2010s. We danced while we were there and the dance floor was packed! The food was good, my favorite was the Braised Short Rib, it was DELICIOUS! We appreciated Jenny who coordinated our seating and communicated with us on the event. She answered any questions that we had prior to attending. She is a wonderful hostess. read more

This is a big casino, it's beautiful. The parking structure is really big and a bit confusing to me. But we finally made it to the elevators that took us to the casino main floor. They had a live band playing. It was quite loud in there and very very busy this night. They have complimentary drinks. The food court was busy, took awhile to get our food. They really should improve the amount of times they card an individual. I entered thru the entrance and got carded which is understandable, but I then got carded after leaving the buffet and also leaving the lobby of the hotel. That's 3 times I got carded and I feel like it's really excessive. Protocol or not, it just doesn't sit right with me to be carded that many times. I don't know how many people under 21 would even go to a casino that's strict on the 21+ standard, but I certainly wouldn't do that and I'm hopeful that Jamul can do better in the future regarding the carding. read more

We came for an afternoon of food and roulette and it pains me to say that we realized we prefer other casinos. We ate at one of restaurants and it was a great deal under $40 for 2 of us. However, the roulette table was a letdown. Only 1 was available and not only did it have $15 minimums, they had $5 chips only. Never have I been to a roulette table where all seats were filled and people didn't bet because everyone kept losing. We're used to slow playing and enjoying but we quickly left after the vibes were off. The free valet was nice but the pickup is on level 6. They asked us if we wanted water in our car which was appreciated. Overall, I like the roulette tables more at Sycuan and Viejas even though the parking situation isn't as convenient. read more

While booze is not included, they have self serve drinks and waitresses who come around for drink orders. Parking is free. I had luck at the tables and slots. Great customer service at Valet Service Department with the management of Mr. Ariel Divino! Checked in at hotel to attend a party this Saturday, staff misplaced my car key when we asked for my car. It took them 30 minutes to keep locating but yet Ariel, Front Services Asst Manager offered their limo service so we can attend to our party timely while they're locating my car key. In addition to that, he gave us 4 free brunch buffet at Jamul 23 as his apology! Kudos to his great service and his team, they made sure that customers are respected and well attended!! read more

Jamul Casino and their recent change regarding "Free Play" No other Casinos do this. Jamul Casino gives players free plays for the month. Other Casino do too. No other Casinos I've ever gone to do this: Jamul gives free play monthly now when after playing a player may have lost 1k so you ask to see if they can give you free play.. Low and behold they will take the free play they've given you monthly (free play that was determined way before you coming in) which has nothing to do with the money you just played with and tell you they can't give you addl free play because you've already been given free play. No other Casinos do this. This is just another way Jamul nickel and dimes their patron. I stopped playing at Jamul they suckered me back by increasing my monthly free play (I used to spend tons of money b4 as an Onyx card holder). I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning experience my family and I had while attempting to visit your casino and restaurants, Saturday 14 March 2026, at approximately 8:00 PM. Upon arrival at the valet area, we were informed by the valet attendant that our van was too large to be accommodated. However, directly in the area where we initially pulled up, there was another van of similar size already parked in an open space. When we respectfully asked the attendant why that vehicle was permitted to park there and whether we could utilize the same area, the attendant responded with dismissive gestures and an unhelpful demeanor. We also informed the attendant that we are handicapped and asked whether accessible vans were accommodated. We were told that we would need to park on the street outside of the casino. When we asked if that would require a walk, the attendant confirmed that it would. From the moment we arrived, the interaction felt unnecessarily discourteous and dismissive. More importantly, being directed to park on the street despite identifying as individuals with disabilities raised concerns regarding accessibility accommodations. As you are likely aware, businesses open to the public are expected to provide reasonable accessibility accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Given the size and prominence of Jamul Casino, we were surprised and disappointed by this experience. We had intended to patronize your casino and restaurants that evening, but due to the circumstances described above, we ultimately chose to leave. I hope you will review this matter, including the conduct of the valet attendant and your procedures for accommodating accessible vehicles, to ensure that patrons with disabilities are treated respectfully and provided appropriate access in the future. We tried the buffet that is in the hotel portion of the resort when we went and the selections of seafood and meat were plentiful. We had choice of snow crabs, dinginess crab, king crab, lobster, shrimp, scallops , mussels,clams, and oysters. Neat selections included lamb, prime rib and some others that I didn't pay attention to. Sushi choices were available as well. The only qualm I had was I didn't find enough vegetable options. Security was rude we didn't know it wasn't allowed and they checked our cooler and had us either take it back to our car or confiscate it, we didn't want to take it all the way back since we valet the car but they told us we can't throw it away they had to take it -WEIRD. overall customer service was off putting. first positive experience we had was the next day with one of the security guys wishing us good luck and asking about our trip so far when checking our ID's. food options are sub par. long lines slow workers who look like they don't want to be there. had to reset their system while waiting to order food it was just a mess. next on to the casino area, there's not that many slots it was packed on the night i was there people were literally standing around waiting for a slot machine literally lurking until you would get up. not a huge selection and I kid you not hit so many bonuses just to get $3.76 wins etc. Felt like a scam. overall disappointed won't be returning. When I heard this casino does have a buffet (at J23), I went on a Tuesday (3/3/26) around 10:30 AM; seated at a table for four, I had an excellent view of the employee parking lot, distant traffic and a tractor driving around on a field. The service was excellent; the concierge was very polite (so I tipped $5), my server was very attentive, friendly, accommodating and polite; the food, however is a different story. Putting it kindly? It is disappointing. This review is specifically for the following items: - butter & 1 biscuit. The biscuit was dry -- make sure you have a beverage close by. The butter is very bland. It's a decent scoop of very pale, what must be unsalted butter. But it was wrapped cutely in a basket with 2 packages of jam (strawberry & grape). - Steak & eggs. The cubed, bite sized steak is tough and chewy, the scrambled eggs were dry, and they were barely lukewarm. - waffles. The 2 waffles I had were cold, despite being kept in a covered chafing dish and doled out by an employee. Butter wouldn't melt on it; the waffle itself was so dry and unappetizing, no matter how much bourbon maple syrup I poured on it. - chile relleno. The batter is thick and greasy; the cheese inside not melted. And it is cold. - Meat lover's fajitas. Not flavorful, and the medley of beef, chicken & shrimp were also cold, dry and chewy. I picked out as many shrimp as I could, only to find more of the same - cold dry and chewy. - the sliced fresh fruit display, is visually appealing, but once tucked into, is not refreshed/replenished,. In summary, save for the green salad and dressings, the food was drier than the Sahara desert at noon in the summer. The webpage is a bit misleading; though it doesn't specify/inform you the buffet is strictly breakfast from 8 AM till 10:45-ish. J23's 0800-1400 buffet has separate hours for lunch and breakfast. They stop cooking and begin putting away the breakfast foods around 10:15-10:30-ish, close the dining area by sections, and then reset/reopen for lunch from 11-ish to 2:00pm, so plan accordingly. I would rather spend the extra money and go to Tom Ham's lighthouse I paid $32 for a very disappointing and unappetizing breakfast buffet, tipping the concierge $5, and my server $6; it's not their fault the food is subpar. Let them sit down at the buffet pay for meal 15 min before closing . An sit down for 10 minutes. Threatening to call the sheriff when they were asked to leave without receiving a refund for the meal that they didn't eat. An then have security gather around you like their employees didn't give them the OK to walk through the metal detector. Also make a huge scene on how they won't show the ID when you have to show the ID to even enter the premises. Which they failed to do their job. They need better training and employees. Had several seniors, going to buffet. No signage to let us know where to park. No handicap available. Circled several times. Had to use valet. At Buffett charged18% gratuity due to size of group. Usually don't mind, it's understandable! But the service today was practically non existent. No drink refills, had to get other employees to assist us with coffee and getting the bill to us. Kept watching our server address other tables numerous times. Kind of got the feeling that because our tip was set, we didn't need any attention. He was working the other tables to get the tips. It made me wish that the 18%, large group rule could be challenged and adjusted to service received ( with manager approval of course). For their summer celebration, I had to park on the first level of structure and not only to park on the lowest level, but I had to wait for a spot of the most level. Meanwhile, dozens of spaces are taken up by E waste that has been there long as I can rememberyeah cages downstairs that are also empty because they appeared inside. Thanks you would think for such an event that they would clean up their parking structure for allowing more customers part and not have to walk or use an elevator up to the floor also two of my dad their Internet does not work unless you're on the sixth floor or above and even times that doesn't even workthat can make safety communications very difficult. I'd also like to add every time I eat there I feel extremely sick afterwards the celebration food was very different and very heavy and it just didn't sit well in my stomach and it never does. Hello, I just wanted to give a BIG shout out to Jamul Casino today. I accidently left my $800 ticket in the slot machine (I cashed out but forgot to take the ticket). Within 5 minutes I got a response from the casino worker (Cynthia) and Security Guard (Amy) who took all my information and would get back to me. Within 2 hours the person who had cashed my ticket returned back to the Casino and admitted fault. At that time I was able to get my $$ back. Jose the security Supervisor was involved and assured me I would get the $$ back and he was right. Jamul has been my favorite Casino thus far, always pleasant and professional staff.
