Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday with a group of friends. I rented a cabana for 8 ppl plus invited a couple more since they have a dj on sundays and the fifa final would playing. First off you book the cabana and day beds on OpenTable. I thought it was odd since it had time slots for the cabana, I booked 1 pm that was the only one available for that day. We arrive to the casino early to hit the tables. I went up to see if we could check in early for the day beds around 12:15. Upon arrival Anthony was station at the check in table, he mentions to me the cabanas are all booked and they will set up tables for us. I was highly upset when I heard that. I booked a week in advance and come to find out I am not getting one. They never reached out to let us know this would be the result of a system fail and being told after driving out to jamul. I asked to speak to someone, not sure if the lady I spoke to was a manager or what but she was clearly not trained. She kept saying she had to ask her manager as I asked why can't I get a cabana that was open, that party has not arrived yet. The reason I didn't get the one I had was due to that party being here first. Also on the booking you don't choose what cabana you get! Flash forward my party is starting to arrive and still no resolution. The director was called, to see if we could get the cabana that was open and by then someone else with the same issue just sat there and said they are not moving. We ended up getting the table set up and the fiesta package which includes tacos chicken and steak. He also gave us a fruit platter and charcuterie board. Refunded my money. The food took awhile to come out. We probably got served like 2 hours after we sat down. Honestly the pool is nice and all but the service from the pool staff was not good. Pool staff meaning the runners for your food and drinks. I got a pitcher drink and they were so busy they ran out of pitchers and fruit to make the drink. The runner told me that and offered the pitcher instead. When she came back with it she just shoved it on the table. With trying to find room to put it down. I appreciate what the director did and Anthony for checking in on us to make sure we were having a good time. Would I return probably not due to the lack of training to the staff and slow service.

Recently stayed 2 nights at the Jamul Resort. We had a standard 2 queen bedroom with a mountain view. This is not a luxury hotel, I don't care what anyone says, but it is a nice hotel. The rooms are modern in design and the entire resort is very clean and well-maintained. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! And the lighting controls in the room are cool to set the right mood. There is a coffee maker and one of those mini bar fridges that charger you if you take anything out. It was full of drinks, but I could only imagine the price. The Jamul 23 buffet is located in the lobby of the hotel and there is a rooftop pool and bar. The pool area is very small and can get very crowded, especially if there is any kind of special event. You will want to get there early if you want a lounge chair, because there are not to many of those as well. And also know there is not much in the form of shade. Overall, if you are look for a quick San Diego getaway and you don't want to drive too far, this is a great option. And I imagine most people are coming for the casino, which is a decent size casino!

We attended a Black History Month event here on 2/28/26. It is their Annual Black History Month celebration. There is a full Soul Food dinner included in the ticket. The Rooftop is the lounge venue that this event happens in every year. It is well setup with tables, dance floor, stage, and a full bar area. They have 2 guest Unisex restrooms where you can see the view of the sports field venue below. We were seated at Table #17 and it was in a perfect spot near the center of the room. The Soul Food for buffet served dinner: Delicious and tender Braised Short Rib, Collard Greens, Green Caesar Salad, Potato Salad, Yellow Rice Pilaf, Fried Crispy Chicken Wings, and Macaroni & Cheese. They had Banana Pudding individually portioned desserts and they had Pecan and Caramel flavors. We enjoyed the servers bringing us free water, free canned sodas, and you could also order whatever you'd like from the bar for a cost. I appreciated that the Jamul President & Chairman Mary Cheeks greeted all guests with a wonderful and warm welcome statement. She asked for a moment of silence for The Rev. Jesse Jackson, and it was beautiful. Jamul Casino had TV screens throughout the property and casino paying tribute to Black History Month. The screens included notable Black people, their summary contributions/achievements, and authentic photos of each honoree. These TVs were everywhere; excellent job! There was a band that performed was great. They sere high energy and they performed R&B, Soul, & Popular songs from the 1950s to the 2010s. We danced while we were there and the dance floor was packed! The food was good, my favorite was the Braised Short Rib, it was DELICIOUS! We appreciated Jenny who coordinated our seating and communicated with us on the event. She answered any questions that we had prior to attending. She is a wonderful hostess.

This is a big casino, it's beautiful. The parking structure is really big and a bit confusing to me. But we finally made it to the elevators that took us to the casino main floor. They had a live band playing. It was quite loud in there and very very busy this night. They have complimentary drinks. The food court was busy, took awhile to get our food. I heard it was busier than usual this particular night so I'll be back another day.

Been a few times. Very clean and good poker room. Love the pool on top of hotel and pool food. Rooms at hotel are nice.

We came for an afternoon of food and roulette and it pains me to say that we realized we prefer other casinos. We ate at one of restaurants and it was a great deal under $40 for 2 of us. However, the roulette table was a letdown. Only 1 was available and not only did it have $15 minimums, they had $5 chips only. Never have I been to a roulette table where all seats were filled and people didn't bet because everyone kept losing. We're used to slow playing and enjoying but we quickly left after the vibes were off. The free valet was nice but the pickup is on level 6. They asked us if we wanted water in our car which was appreciated. Overall, I like the roulette tables more at Sycuan and Viejas even though the parking situation isn't as convenient.

Beef broccoli without the carrots. Overall tasty but I like mine with more sauce

This post is specially for their Emerald restaurant. Was there on a busy Valentines Day and while the line was very long the staff were fast and efficient. The ambience of the restaurant is straight out of a movie. Every table was packing with people laughing and sharing a meal, my own table included. Will go back for the vibes!

Vieja promos is legit!…read more As many times as I have seen the Viejas promo flyers in my mailbox I have always tossed them. But this time I said let me give it a try. Viejas has a pretty good reason to stop by on the weekends in August 8-9and you don't have to spend a dime. Every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., they're giving away a different piece of a bedroom set at the Promotional Center. So far, I've picked up the U.S. Polo queen-size sheets, comforter, and bamboo pillows. Next week is the plush throw--and everyone needs a good throw. Keep it on the couch, toss it in the car for winter, or bring it out when you're sitting around a bonfire. The giveaway itself is simple: bring your casino card and ID, let them scan them, pick up your item, and keep it moving. No purchase required. Now, there is one catch: self-control. If you walk into a casino like a kid walking into a candy store and suddenly the cards and machines start calling your name, that "free" comforter might become a very expensive comforter. As for the quality, I've actually been using everything. The sheets have been great during these hot nights warm enough with the A/C running but still cool enough when it's off. The comforter is incredibly soft without being overly fluffy, and it works nicely with my duvet. The bamboo pillows are light and airy. So far, Viejas is slowly furnishing my bed one weekend at a time. And at the price of FREE, I have absolutely no complaints.

Ive been taking the time to have a few staycations these days and when I received an email from…read moreViejas for a free couple night stay I jumped on the chance. This review is mostly for the Viejas hotel as they have two on the property. I was offered a early check in which I was happy about and the gal in the front asked if I wanted the tower that faced the outlets or the tower that faced the parking garage. Naturally I picked not looking at the parking garage but as I settled in and put my bathing suit on I realized I had to walk through the casino with all my stuff and not too many clothes on that I asked if they would move me. They gladly did and again a room was available, thank you for that. The first thing I noticed when I entered was that there wasnt enough light and nothing was automatic. The curtains were hard to open and close because chairs and tables were in front of it and all the lights had to be switched on and off which was a little annoying for me. The elevators were slow but there was always housekeeping in the hallway if I needed any extra coffee or water and they were all really nice. You also couldnt log into your netflix or other streaming services which was a bummer. They did even have a cucumber lemon water in the lobby which was really refreshing as well. The pool was nice and had a DJ on the weekend but there was no service and no food as well. Just a walk up bar that was closed on Monday when I went, On sunday I did come down in my regular clothes to sit in a "cabana" for a moment when I was rudley asked to move as it was for reservations. I did see a reservation sign on the same bed the day before and it wasnt on there on Sunday so I thought it was ok to sit but the guy working there who didnt seem to like his job let me know he cant have me sitting there. I think next time they should just leave the reserved signs on there so there is no confusion and or just let someone sit if the pool is not even busy anyway. I did need the light to work so the lighting part cut my work time and they had robes and no slippers. Hopefully next time I stay it will be more available. I did win at bingo so overall I left pretty satisfied :)

It's beautiful... and that's the most appropriate comment I will type…read more My husband and I met Joseph in August of 2024 to plan our daughter's quinceanera that just took place on May 9th 2026. We went over the contract thoroughly, eventually deciding that we would bring our own vendors (taquero, DJ, photographer, baker, event decorator, and 360 photo booth), as I have known many of these people for years and have an established, trusting relationship with most of them. Joseph said that was perfectly fine, the only service that we had to use from his side was the bartender, which my husband and I understood. During this meeting we also met his assistant Patty and were told that she would also be helping us through this process, but that he was always available, and we would have his complete attention the week of and leading to the day of our daughter's celebration. Part of our contract states that we were able to bring the supplies/decor/spirits to the venue the week of the quince. So, on May 4th, my family and I filled the event room with the decorations et al, that we would be using for the following Saturday, the 9th. Every single day, Monday through Friday that week, my mom and I were at the venue, sorting through boxes, opening packages, putting the cake table pieces together, setting up the candy bar, making sure that when the day of came, everything would be organized and ready for the staff to take out to decorate. Friday afternoon (5/8) we met with Patty to clarify all of this. But first let me elaborate a bit more... My family and I had informed Joseph and Patty that we would be bringing some salads, fruit/vegetable platters, and items for a nacho bar that would need to be set up before we arrived. Joseph explained that he did not have enough staff to help with that (8 people doing various jobs, still unsure of what) and that either myself or a friend/family member would need to come and get this ready because he could not accommodate this. We were so grateful that our BAKER, who is not employed by the venue, was able to help with this since she was also arriving early to bring the desserts for the cake table. More on that in a minute. When we arrived at the venue the day of the quince, it looked beautiful, the tables looked ready, centerpieces, runners, etc. then I started noticing that there was so much more missing, and my guests were already walking into the party space. For starters, I did not see hardly any staff in the party area and Patty was unfortunately running around like a madman. She was feverishly trying to set up the luminaries and LED pillars we had brought for the garden walkway. I also noticed that the fruit/veggie/nacho bar table was not set up. I ended up rushing to the clubhouse where all of this was being stored and took everything out of the refrigerator myself. I encountered a staff member on the way back who said to me, "Oh are you the mom? Oh let me know what you need help with." My mind was absolutely boggled. Did my family and I NOT just spend the entire week here and leave detailed instructions? And then... While carrying said fruit/vegetable trays, I walked by the tables to notice that there were not any "reserved" signs placed. We had asked for two tables to be held for the immediate family. I had mentioned this to one of the staff, I believe Lily (she was very lovely) and said she would get right on it. About 10 minutes later I saw that the signs were there, but what I learned the following week was that one of the tables already had guests sitting at it and they were promptly asked to move to another table. Sigh... And then... Once my husband and I were able to catch our breath, we grabbed a quick drink. Jason was our bartender, very kind and solid drinks. While we were at the bar, Joseph came up to talk to us, telling Jason that someone got sick in the bathroom and that he had to stop serving hard alcohol for an hour. Mind you, the bar has only been open about forty-five minutes, and no one has had any shots or is intoxicated. We all disagreed with this but had to oblige. By this time, we were falling behind schedule and had to do the main entrance. Then I realized that I had not seen my daughter in almost two hours, the sun was starting to set, and we did not take any pictures with her in this beautiful space because we had to do the jobs that we had hired this venue for. In the end: No pictures with our daughter in this space that cost half our budget Staff enjoyed our taquero without checking to make sure all of our guests had eaten Saw photos of Joseph and his staff enjoying our 360 photo booth Learned that 80% of my vendors experienced an unpleasant encounter with Joseph My guests were unsatisfied with parking/golf cart availability Not enough restroom signage Reports from vendors state as of 2pm, tablecloths weren't even on the tables.

First off, I had no idea there were 2 hotels at Viejas and honestly love the Willows Hotel & Spa, plus it's a 21+. When you walk in, it feels like a mini Vegas hotel. You go upstairs to the front desk and service was really great, from the check in process to the luggage assistance. But it's really when you get up to the room that is impressive; probably one of the nicer rooms that I've stayed in which a nice open area with a mini bar, desk and living room. The bedroom is in a separate room and much to my surprise, there was a special birthday setup on the bed for me (loved it!). And can't forget the extra large shower with rainfall faucet and all the amenities you would need. On to the spa. Amazing. While it's on the smaller side I had a great experience, from the attentive staff that made me feel welcomed to the massage and near-private hot tub/sauna/steam room and lovely pool area. It's adjacent to the regular hotel pool that you also have access to as well. If you get a service you can use the amenities all day with in and out privileges, such a nice relaxing day if you ask me. So while I'm limiting my review to the hotel and spa, the Viejas property has so much to do. The casino is a short walk from the hotel along with a variety of restaurants. The outlet mall is literally across the street and has a bingo hall and bowling and also had a seasonal skating rink. The golf course is also a drive down the road. In conclusion, I had a 5 star experience. I was sad to check out and I will be back for another stay!

"SHHHH" BINGO You…read moreknow you "old" when an evening out with a group consists of Bingo... at a Casino!!! None of us except two have played Bingo at this level so everything was quite new. There IS dedicated parking for Bingo, reserved parking! The Bingo Hall has its own building with some slots in the lobby, snack bar, and a decent size restroom with plenty of stalls. BINGO ETIQUETTE Fair reminder, there is "Bingo Etiquette" - it's quiet as a damn library it was so uncomfortable to even speak or whisper. Our group was hushed by some random lady a few times and she snitched on us and staff (who seemed to be laid back) would occasionally mention in the prompt that everyone needs to be quiet (they didn't single us out but we knew that message was directed towards us). "Library Bingo" was so quiet, I could hear myself think that I was able to solve a coding conditional logic for work (that I been working on for days) in my head and write it down. PACKAGE DEALS This was overwhelming to understand. I just went with the flow of what everyone else was signing up for. Early Bird ($10) + 175 card ($40) + happy ball ($5) = adult fun with friends. DIGITAL VS. PAPER Next level Bingo! Received an iPad that basically does everything for you. The only action from you is type in your account number (received on your receipt after paying) and calling out "BINGO" if you win any of the games. Literally hands free and focus free - it's nice to eat, snack, try to whisper-converse amongst the group, do whatever. Yes, option to dab the paper oldskool if you like. FOOD AND DRINKS They don't tell you this but INSIDE the Bingo hall are free drinks (soda, coffee, water, etc.) . Don't buy drinks at the snack bar right outside before coming in. In addition, people bring their own snacks from home if you want to save money. But the snack bar was relatively cheap compared to the increase of food from inflation. Most of us got Nachos because it was the most for your buck. There is option to get Carne Asada or Chili and but default you get a mini bucket of cheese. BRING TUMS AND PEPCID AC - you are going to need it. B-I-N-G-O! So close yet so far. The night we went, the buyout was $750 per game. Wow! Other days it can be even higher. We were here for several hours playing Bingo and the Bingo games weren't just one stretch of line... Bingo came in different shapes and sizes. If I'm looking to kill time and be a mute, I could see myself coming here to do so (LOL). Sit, eat, and hope to win. Didn't win anything this night but maybe in the future. Honestly, with a group of people who like socializing this "Library Bingo" "SHHH Bingo" might be too quiet and you become the distracting background noise. Still, I could see myself returning - it was still fun!

They do have portable machines that are about the size of an IPad. The machines have Solitaire games so you can entertain yourself before Bingo starts. Free soda and coffee are available, help yourself. Inside the hall are some gaming machines and a snack bar with plenty of choices. This is all near the Food Court. We usually walk over there and get take out from one of the many places. Bingo staff are all very nice, friendly and helpful. We don't often win but always have a good time.

I also liked that the lodge was attached to a small shopping center, which made it convenient to grab food late at night with several options nearby. The customer service was okay. The staff weren't the friendliest, but overall, I didn't have any major issues. I had requested a crib when making my booking, but apparently, the request was never received. If you need one, I'd recommend calling ahead to confirm. We were still able to get a crib, but we had to wait for it to be delivered later that night. As for breakfast, it's definitely one of the more basic continental breakfasts I've had. There were scrambled eggs, bacon, and various breads, along with the usual basics. It was okay at best, but it's always nice to have breakfast included, so I can't complain too much. Another plus was the free parking. Overall, the stay was decent and the pricing was reasonable. We chose this lodge because it was a more affordable option for staying somewhat close to San Diego. I would recommend it if you're looking for a clean and affordable place to stay. It's a great option if you mainly need a comfortable place to sleep while exploring the area.

Unfortunately, our experience at check-in was disappointing because of the customer service we received. We arrived around 6:00 PM on August 7, 2026. The two girls at the front desk were not welcoming at all--no smile, no friendly greeting, and overall a very cold attitude. We are very friendly people and also work in the hospitality industry, so we understand that hotel jobs can be busy and stressful. However, basic courtesy and hospitality should still be there. One of the employees was repeatedly going outside to a car that was parked outside while we were trying to get assistance, which made the whole experience feel even more unprofessional. The biggest issue was when we asked about the complimentary shuttle service. The employee told us she would call and let us know. We went up to our room to get ready for the evening and waited. No one ever contacted us. We eventually called the front desk ourselves, only to find out that they apparently don't make those calls at all. We felt completely ignored. It's unfortunate because we actually liked the hotel and our room. The property itself has a lot going for it, but the interaction with these two employees really affected our first impression and overall experience. Hopefully management can address the customer-service issue because a welcoming front desk makes a huge difference, especially after guests have traveled a long way to get there.

They have classic arcade games here like Frogger Pong, Super Mario and pinball. There are a few newer games like a version of beer pong, Halo, Mario Kart and 4-person Pacman. We played every game within an hour and felt a bit bored after that. I'd love to see a Dance Dance Revolution game here! The plethora of beers, hard seltzers and ciders on tap looked like an expansive collection. There was something here for everyone. They even had a chocolate espresso martini on tap. I didn't drink but those in my party enjoyed every sip and got a good buzz goin. I love that you can pay for your drink by the ounce and you don't really have to commit to a whole drink if you don't want to. Perfect to taste test everything if that's what you desire. I'll be back in the area when I'm feelin in a fun and drinky mood.

It was a little smaller than I expected, but it's still easy to spend an hour or two here with friends. They also serve food, which I'll have to come back and try another time. Instead of ordering drinks at the bar, you start a tab by leaving your credit card with the cashier. They give you a tap card that lets you pour your own drinks. You can sample just a little or fill up a whole glass. It's completely up to you. They have everything from beer and wine to a few craft cocktails on tap. If you want to try something different, you can swap out your glass and keep exploring. The same tap card also activates all of the arcade games, which I thought was a really cool touch. It makes everything feel connected instead of having to carry around a bunch of tokens or cash. When I visited, they were hosting trivia night. It definitely brought in a crowd. Most of the tables were full, so walking around got a little tight because the space isn't very big. Even so, the atmosphere was lively. It felt like everyone was having a good time. I ended up trying the Cranberry Mule, which I really enjoyed. It was nice being able to pour just the amount I wanted instead of committing to a full drink. Overall, I had a really fun time here. It's a unique spot that gives you something a little different from your typical bar. Once you're ready to leave, you just close out your tab and head home. I'd definitely come back with a group of friends.
