we dine at the tony Gwynn buffet a lot. it would be great if you offered the beef that the people cut for you well done in the buffet line instead of having to ask the server to bring it to the back to cook longer. it would save the server the hassle of doing it because they get busy and usually forget about it until we are done and ready to leave. it gets hectic so I understand why it gets forgotten but it would be nice to have the meat with the rest of the food. most servers are nice and the hosts are great. read more

I really love this casino. The people that work here are phenomenal! I haven't had one bad experience here! They have music some nights and you can just dance with the small crowd. Dining here is absolutely fabulous. The spa is heavenly and the rewards are good! When i first played here almost a year ago, they were giving me 500$ free play on Saturdays and during the week it was also about 500$ freeplay with crack the safe and weekly freeplay. I also got 200$ in spa and for food, 100$ at prime. I was definitely wowed by this!!! I guess i lost so much the first time they really rewarded me! After, I stopped coming around so much so ofc my rewards would wane. I love tony gwynn and Lou, the manager. I also love the lobster buffet at jamul 23. Its fabulous. Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday with a group of friends. I rented a cabana for 8 ppl plus invited a couple more since they have a dj on sundays and the fifa final would playing. First off you book the cabana and day beds on OpenTable. I thought it was odd since it had time slots for the cabana, I booked 1 pm that was the only one available for that day. We arrive to the casino early to hit the tables. I went up to see if we could check in early for the day beds around 12:15. Upon arrival Anthony was station at the check in table, he mentions to me the cabanas are all booked and they will set up tables for us. I was highly upset when I heard that. I booked a week in advance and come to find out I am not getting one. They never reached out to let us know this would be the result of a system fail and being told after driving out to jamul. I asked to speak to someone, not sure if the lady I spoke to was a manager or what but she was clearly not trained. She kept saying she had to ask her manager as I asked why can't I get a cabana that was open, that party has not arrived yet. The reason I didn't get the one I had was due to that party being here first. Also on the booking you don't choose what cabana you get! Flash forward my party is starting to arrive and still no resolution. The director was called, to see if we could get the cabana that was open and by then someone else with the same issue just sat there and said they are not moving. We ended up getting the table set up and the fiesta package which includes tacos chicken and steak. He also gave us a fruit platter and charcuterie board. Refunded my money. The food took awhile to come out. We probably got served like 2 hours after we sat down. Honestly the pool is nice and all but the service from the pool staff was not good. Pool staff meaning the runners for your food and drinks. I got a pitcher drink and they were so busy they ran out of pitchers and fruit to make the drink. The runner told me that and offered the pitcher instead. When she came back with it she just shoved it on the table. With trying to find room to put it down. I appreciate what the director did and Anthony for checking in on us to make sure we were having a good time. Disappointing Decline in Cleanliness and Customer Comfort I have visited Jamul Casino twice within the last 30 days, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing. What struck me the most was the noticeable decline in the cleanliness of the slot machines. Many of the machines I wanted to play were dusty, covered with fingerprints and smudges, stained, and some even had sticky areas on the buttons and armrests. Several ashtrays were overflowing with cigarette butts and had clearly not been emptied for quite some time. It simply did not give the impression that the gaming floor was being cleaned regularly. I remember Jamul Casino as being exceptionally well maintained--clean, polished, and welcoming. That is one of the reasons I enjoyed visiting in the past. Sadly, that no longer seems to be the case. During both visits, I felt uncomfortable enough that my guests and I left after about 90 minutes. Another disappointment is that the casino no longer offers complimentary face masks at the entrance. As a non-smoker, I understand that smoking is permitted in much of the casino, but I appreciate having the option of wearing a mask when seated near smokers. While there is a non-smoking section, it is considerably smaller and does not offer the same variety or selection of newer and more exciting slot machines as the main gaming floor. I sincerely hope management takes these comments seriously. Cleanliness is one of the first things guests notice, and it has a direct impact on their overall experience. Until conditions improve, I'll be looking for another casino in the area, and I have shared my experience with family, friends, and neighbors who also enjoy visiting local casinos. I came here with friends after seeing it all over TikTok, and it looked like a fun spot with a great atmosphere. While the ambiance was enjoyable, the overall service fell well below expectations. The venue appeared to be significantly understaffed. There was only one experienced bartender, while the second seemed to be in training or less experienced, which resulted in long wait times for drinks. Throughout the day, the servers repeatedly forgot our orders, and we often had to remind them. Water, which was included with our daybed service, was never brought to us unless we asked. The most frustrating part of the experience was having to leave our daybed and walk across the pool area to pick up our own drinks because the servers wouldn't walk through the shallow water to deliver them. When you're paying for daybed service, you expect the convenience and attentiveness that come with it. We reserved a daybed expecting a premium experience, but unfortunately, the level of service didn't justify the price. The venue has a lot of potential, and the atmosphere is great, but improvements in staffing, organization, and customer service are needed. Based on my experience, I wouldn't return. read more

I haven't been to this casino in a long time, and honestly, it's shocking how much it's gone downhill. The entire place feels rundown now and gives off a very sleazy casino vibe the moment you walk in. I went to grab a complimentary soda, and the machine was completely turned off. I thought maybe it was just broken, so I tried getting coffee instead, but all that came out was boiling hot water. For a casino that brings in the amount of money this place does, it's unbelievable they can't even keep basic complimentary drink stations working anymore. The bathrooms looked worn out and neglected too, which only added to the overall feeling that the place just isn't being maintained like it used to be also played on four machines and the machine machines were filthy of cigarette ash and sticky residue. The atmosphere feels cheap, outdated, and honestly depressing compared to other casinos in San Diego. I would not recommend coming here at all. In my opinion, this has become the worst casino in San Diego. What used to feel exciting now just feels like a dump. read more

Recently stayed 2 nights at the Jamul Resort. We had a standard 2 queen bedroom with a mountain view. This is not a luxury hotel, I don't care what anyone says, but it is a nice hotel. The rooms are modern in design and the entire resort is very clean and well-maintained. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! And the lighting controls in the room are cool to set the right mood. There is a coffee maker and one of those mini bar fridges that charger you if you take anything out. It was full of drinks, but I could only imagine the price. The Jamul 23 buffet is located in the lobby of the hotel and there is a rooftop pool and bar. The pool area is very small and can get very crowded, especially if there is any kind of special event. You will want to get there early if you want a lounge chair, because there are not to many of those as well. And also know there is not much in the form of shade. Overall, if you are look for a quick San Diego getaway and you don't want to drive too far, this is a great option. And I imagine most people are coming for the casino, which is a decent size casino! read more

We attended a Black History Month event here on 2/28/26. It is their Annual Black History Month celebration. There is a full Soul Food dinner included in the ticket. The Rooftop is the lounge venue that this event happens in every year. It is well setup with tables, dance floor, stage, and a full bar area. They have 2 guest Unisex restrooms where you can see the view of the sports field venue below. We were seated at Table #17 and it was in a perfect spot near the center of the room. The Soul Food for buffet served dinner: Delicious and tender Braised Short Rib, Collard Greens, Green Caesar Salad, Potato Salad, Yellow Rice Pilaf, Fried Crispy Chicken Wings, and Macaroni & Cheese. They had Banana Pudding individually portioned desserts and they had Pecan and Caramel flavors. We enjoyed the servers bringing us free water, free canned sodas, and you could also order whatever you'd like from the bar for a cost. I appreciated that the Jamul President & Chairman Mary Cheeks greeted all guests with a wonderful and warm welcome statement. She asked for a moment of silence for The Rev. Jesse Jackson, and it was beautiful. Jamul Casino had TV screens throughout the property and casino paying tribute to Black History Month. The screens included notable Black people, their summary contributions/achievements, and authentic photos of each honoree. These TVs were everywhere; excellent job! There was a band that performed was great. They sere high energy and they performed R&B, Soul, & Popular songs from the 1950s to the 2010s. We danced while we were there and the dance floor was packed! The food was good, my favorite was the Braised Short Rib, it was DELICIOUS! We appreciated Jenny who coordinated our seating and communicated with us on the event. She answered any questions that we had prior to attending. She is a wonderful hostess. read more

Visited Tony Gwynns bar and Buffet. I was really excited about lobster buffet but NOW they only serve lobster 3 days a week. Bartender David is the rudest & unfriendly Bartender. He used to be nice, not sure what I did to piss him off but he's such a JERK now & the customers next to me agreed. I won't be coming back unless its Alexandro or Koa behind the bar. We came for an afternoon of food and roulette and it pains me to say that we realized we prefer other casinos. We ate at one of restaurants and it was a great deal under $40 for 2 of us. However, the roulette table was a letdown. Only 1 was available and not only did it have $15 minimums, they had $5 chips only. Never have I been to a roulette table where all seats were filled and people didn't bet because everyone kept losing. We're used to slow playing and enjoying but we quickly left after the vibes were off. The free valet was nice but the pickup is on level 6. They asked us if we wanted water in our car which was appreciated. Overall, I like the roulette tables more at Sycuan and Viejas even though the parking situation isn't as convenient. read more

They really should improve the amount of times they card an individual. I entered thru the entrance and got carded which is understandable, but I then got carded after leaving the buffet and also leaving the lobby of the hotel. That's 3 times I got carded and I feel like it's really excessive. Protocol or not, it just doesn't sit right with me to be carded that many times. I don't know how many people under 21 would even go to a casino that's strict on the 21+ standard, but I certainly wouldn't do that and I'm hopeful that Jamul can do better in the future regarding the carding. read more

While booze is not included, they have self serve drinks and waitresses who come around for drink orders. Parking is free. I had luck at the tables and slots. Being an Onyx card holder I am very disappointed at the way I've been treated by my so called host who obviously doesn't like me and isn't afraid to show it. I recently lost my wallet and had a hotel stay booked so I texted my so called VIP host Thristian Wilson to see if he could help me out and he tells me no and then proceeds to contact and to put notes in the computer to specifically not allow me in even know I have a valid id on file . This is not the first time I've had a problem with him either, he's done similar things in the past to keep me from getting the free play that I had earned from my play by putting notes on my account specifically instructing staff not to help me out and also instructing the hotel not to let me check in as well. I've made four requests to the casino to change hosts and they have done nothing to help me. I honestly don't know how this guy can be a VIP host as I've heard nothing but bad things about him from other patrons who have him as a host. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning experience my family and I had while attempting to visit your casino and restaurants, Saturday 14 March 2026, at approximately 8:00 PM. Upon arrival at the valet area, we were informed by the valet attendant that our van was too large to be accommodated. However, directly in the area where we initially pulled up, there was another van of similar size already parked in an open space. When we respectfully asked the attendant why that vehicle was permitted to park there and whether we could utilize the same area, the attendant responded with dismissive gestures and an unhelpful demeanor. We also informed the attendant that we are handicapped and asked whether accessible vans were accommodated. We were told that we would need to park on the street outside of the casino. When we asked if that would require a walk, the attendant confirmed that it would. From the moment we arrived, the interaction felt unnecessarily discourteous and dismissive. More importantly, being directed to park on the street despite identifying as individuals with disabilities raised concerns regarding accessibility accommodations. As you are likely aware, businesses open to the public are expected to provide reasonable accessibility accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Given the size and prominence of Jamul Casino, we were surprised and disappointed by this experience. We had intended to patronize your casino and restaurants that evening, but due to the circumstances described above, we ultimately chose to leave. I hope you will review this matter, including the conduct of the valet attendant and your procedures for accommodating accessible vehicles, to ensure that patrons with disabilities are treated respectfully and provided appropriate access in the future. Great customer service at Valet Service Department with the management of Mr. Ariel Divino! Checked in at hotel to attend a party this Saturday, staff misplaced my car key when we asked for my car. It took them 30 minutes to keep locating but yet Ariel, Front Services Asst Manager offered their limo service so we can attend to our party timely while they're locating my car key. In addition to that, he gave us 4 free brunch buffet at Jamul 23 as his apology! Kudos to his great service and his team, they made sure that customers are respected and well attended!! read more
