Bought a women's leather motorcycle vest from here, the side lacing was made from cheap rawhide that was already snapped upon delivery, and then the other side snapped in multiple other places when trying to adjust the laces. The company were quick to respond to emails and said they would send me replacements, but they mailed me one short piece of rawhide lace which was not even long enough to repair one side. Disappointing that I could not easily return the vest due to being an international buyer, so had to spend almost the same cost as the vest itself to buy replacement laces for it locally so that it was wearable. Tried to contact them for some measurements, and the chat was ridiculously slow. All their guarantees overlap and contradict each other. I finally got a human to chat back and I asked about the "price match guarantee" that they had listed since I had the same coat, but in a different brand, saved on my ebay AND Amazon. Suffice to say I'm glad I didn't buy from them. If they can't stand behind their price match guarantee then I wouldnt trust their products or their product guarantee. I purchased shoes for my husband and they did not fit so I took them back. They did not have his size in stock so they gave me a credit for the 139+ tax which came to $151.19. They said I could use this anytime and it does not expire. So I went to use it, and the owner of the store gave me such a hard time because he said that he had changed computer systems and he did not know if this was actually still a credit because there was no way for him to tell. Well, that doesn't seem to be my problem. That's your problem. I said to him this is a legitimate credit that I never used, and I want to be able to use it while he went in the back and did not come out. he did everything in his power to shut me out Even with his employees he told him not to talk to me and now I have this piece of paper that's worth $151.19 and nothing to do with it. I can't speak to the complaints about on-line orders as I visited this store for my purchase. I was very impressed with the vast variety of leather ware in stock at the store. I have good prior experience from my time in San Diego with the brand of jacket I bought here, so I am confidant that the product will look good and last a long time. The material and construction and features of the jacket all add up to a VERY good value. For example: internal gun pocket with snaps, removable lining with the sleeves secured with snaps, heavy duty zipper, and a second internal pocket with zipper. The staff are personable, and ready to help when needed but give you plenty of room as you meander around the store as you are checking out all of the different categories of product available. Not sure if anyone else has noticed the smell because I seem to have a terrific sense of smell and I don't see any complaints here about smells but the jacket I ordered a few years ago came smelling heavily of vinyl. Though they tried to assure me it's real leather and the smell was just the manufacturing chemicals, I do know what real leather smells like with all the finishings since I've had many leather items in the past, I was forced to keep it without question. But today I have found another issue with the cheap quality "vinyl" used to make this jacket --since wearing a white dress shirt the black dye rubbed off onto the collar ruining it! I can imagine how this black dye was rubbing off into my neck and any other dark clothes I may have worn with it! The collar is also heavy and too narrow made for skinny long necks probably, so it feels like the sides of my neck is being squeezed in. However, when I tried to return it for the initial reason a few years ago the company argued against it and insisted there was nothing wrong with the jacket and that it was truly real leather... my a$$! ...it's a shame because the products look so nice in the advertisements but I'm not sure I'm buying real leather from this company and will not be ordering anything from them again, because it shouldn't smell like VINYL. read more

I wish I didn't have to chose stars because this company does not deserve any. I brought a leather jacket from this company for our 23rd wedding anniversary. The jacket arrived in a speedy fashion. The week of my anniversary (approximately a week after I received the items) I opened up the package to wrap his gifts. Well the jacket had two brown spots on the back of the jacket. I contacted the store via messenger because no one would answer the phone and was informed that I could receive a $10 refund if I kept the jacket. Then the person said that if I returned the jacket that all the company would do is use black marker or shoe polish to cover up the spots. Since it was so close to our anniversary and I would not be able to obtain another jacket in time, I chose to keep the jacket and asked for a $25 refund. When the rep got back to me they stated that all they can do is give me a $10 refund, or a $20 gift card, or I can return it but they will have to charge me for the shipping and handling. They were happy to change my shipping preference to "2 day priority" for a small shipping fee. The person on the phone was very nice to deal with and very helpful. The leather vest I purchased is outstanding in quality. Sure, it's made in Pakistan, but even Harley leather is made in China. I'm not sure where you can buy genuine USA Leather goods any more :( My experience with Jamin' Leather was superior. From the cost, to the product, the shipping and customer service. So I figured they knew what they were talking about. If I cancelled order a 4.00 "CHARGE" so I said ok. received item and it is very cheap feeling leather and size medium is more like and extra small doesn't even cover boob. Ok Let's start from the beginning... Back in early December of 2014 I ordered a fringed leather jacket from here and It arrived on Christmas day. The reason I chose this site is because a relative of mine had ordered a similar item and it looked really good and caught my attention. When I received the jacket it was in outstanding condition as a new item should be. The problem was it was too small(LG) so I sent it back for a size exchange(XL). The site offers returns and exchanges within 30 days with a prepaid postage as with other online businesses. Seeing as I received it early afternoon, I went ahead a shipped it back within the hour. Shipping usually takes about 2 weeks so I was expecting a notice from JL as soon as it got there. After about the 2 weeks I got an email notifying me that they had recieved my package and that it was being processed for a size exchange however the item was placed on Backorder because they no longer had the size that I needed. Let me point out that at the time of my original purchase the size options did not have the typical "Out of stock" on any of the sizes so It was kind of weird that they no longer had any that particular size when I asked for the exchange. Fast forward almost 2 months from that first email and still no sign from JL. Within this time, I contacted JL 2 times via chat to get an update and I got the same answer both times:Still in Backorder. Within days after that last attempt I finally got fed up and called JL myself and asked for a full refund. The agent helped me and told me the refund would be processed. A day or 2 later, by some sort of miracle,JL calls me and tells me they finally have my size. I gave JL one last chance and opted to get my jacket instead. 2 weeks later the package arrived. The jacket looked as though it had been sitting in their warehouse for years. The studs showed rust, the fringes were chewed up and ripped on some spots, the leather was stained and the size was exactly as the first time I got it. it was bad. So as you probably guess by now, I contacted JL and sent them photos of the item. I was very dissatisfied and I wanted my money back for sure. I sent the item back and this time I got no notice from JL. I had to set up yet another live chat to find out if they actually recieved it. I opted to get my money back so an agent processed my order and told me I would get my refund within 10 business days. 3 weeks after that last chat I checked my bank and still nothing! I contacted JL yet another time and the agent that helped me explained to me that I had store credit and I had not recieved the refund as expected because I exceeded the 30 day return period. I told the agent that the item had been in Backorder for almost 2 months and that I had no control over that return period. the agent told me theu would look into the problem and that I would receive an email within 3 days. We finally arrive to today's date 4/20/15. I finally recieved the email but with the same problem. I can only obtain store credit because I "Exceeded" the 30 day return period. Needless to say I am absolutely dissapointed and dissatisfied with Jamin leather. I've tried and tried but no dice. I've called and chatted yet nothing resolved. While on my search for an answer online I've found people with the same problem with JL so i'm certainly not the only one and if you're still reading this then you're probably having the same issue. It looks like JL intentionally backs you into a corner by delaying the return/exchange process thus making it impossible to get your money back. A filthy scam if you ask me. At this point the only solutions would be to accept defeat and choose something else from their catalog or take legal action. The latter definitely more expensive and time consuming So i'm pretty much just left with option A. Never Again. Be advised. read more

Normally I do not spend my Saturday morning writing a product review. This is my second review of Jamin' leather in the last few weeks. I just received my third order from them yesterday and my only comment is 'WOW' I bought the sleeveless trench coat and the 'fringed western coat' and was not disappointed at all, as my expectations for leather suppliers has reached a new bar since making Jamin' my first option. Both items are above the quality and workmanship standards one would expect. I did pay in the 250.00 range for each item, which for me, is a lot. What I received were two leather goods which very well could have been in the 800-1000 range. Again the helpful staff at Jamin' talked me through the sizing questions and the fit was perfect. My only observation pursuant to the 'fringed coat' was the fit for a suit type jacket was on the button. I bought this for my Cowboy Shooting activities and found it a bit tight for bringing a rifle in position for rapid shooting. This is only information and not derogatory in intent or complaining. The coat is a perfect fit in all respects for normal wearing and comfort. The sleeveless trench is above the all adulations I am capable of writing here. My only comment about this trench coat is when I hung it up the plastic coat hanger snapped at the weight of the coat. We should all have this problem with leather goods. My main purpose in this review is to provide some confidence for people looking for leather goods on the net. I have three bad decisions hanging in my closet which I should have known better. I bought from the EBAY clowns posing as leather vendors. Another big indicator of satisfaction is I am able to call and talk to Jamin' customer service folks almost immediately. Try this with the fly-by-nights who change company name every few months. Again there is no incentive for this review, other than to provide some honest comments from a real person. So many people like myself are searching for a supplier and only find a review consisting of an 'A' followed by a page of pluses. No confidence in that. I hope I have helped in your buying decisions and provided you with an honest appraisal. Lots of choices on the net but stick with the adults selling leather products. Ordered a small jacket for my wife and it was way too big. Paid $20 to return it and was told it was mismarked and was an XL. The only sizing info on the site was bust size. By looking at other sites I decided she would probably be happier with an XS. Jamin has no XS available so I aske for a refund. I originally paid $89 with discount and was refunded $79. Don't get your leather here. It is very cheaply made foreign leather. I was told that if I sent them my measurements that they would make sure that the jacket and chaps that I ordered would fit me. Wrong! There is no way that they could have measured anything. The sleeves on the jacket were way too short and the chaps were "High Water" Chaps. I appreciate all your reviews and the bad reviews for this company far exceeded the good ones so after reviewing all these bad/good reviews and to find out that one persons order was plastic that smells like leather, I am totally convinced to steer away from this company. Anything that is not leather that is being sold from a leather store should be well marked so as not to trick customers into buying something that they are not aware is not 100% leather. Also, thank you Yelp for providing this service to consumers so that we can see these reviews before considering to but from any companies that we are unsure with and those reviews steer us to make a choice based on the reviews we find here in Yelp. I do a lot of online shopping so it has become a habit for me to read reviews before I commit to any purchases. The main problem for me on this company is the return policy and excessive time taken to say it has been received to make it so that consumers cannot get a refund and be left with either a unsuitable product or only store credit. Only 30 days return policy is reasonable for a local person who walks into the store to purchase an item but with online sales throughout the country it is not satisfactory. Online sales should carry a 90 days return policy and to be honest with consumers. Word of mouth is better than anything to promote business and this company seems like it doesn't get a lot of positive "word of mouth" from it's customers. Maybe this is why they are not honest since if they did business honestly they would not stay in business for long. Shopped here with my mom as she was in search of a leather dress. The gentleman that assisted us was very helpful. After being there a while helping my mom with the dresses she moved on to looking at jackets then vests the place started to peak my interest. I picked out a leather vest with patches for my husband and a fringe purse for myself. Being from Canada I expected all the products to be leather. Well it didn't take me long to figure out that the store is able to keep the cost down as most of the stuff is China made. As a Canadian when you walk into a leather store one would expect to buy authentic leather. It was only after I returned back to Canada that not only did I discover that the sales associate left the security tag inside the fringe purse but the tag read 100% polyurethane. I paid $60 for a heap of plastic that smells like leather. After 5 days of using my purse the strap became unglued from the gold hardware and dropped to the ground off my shoulder. I ordered chaps on 3-18-19 and paid extra shipping to get them by Friday. On Tuesday 3-19-19 I get a phone call and was told the item I wanted wasn't available so the style was changed. The chaps were shipped....they got the street address right....but the city and state was completely wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My money was taken and got nothing for it and I'm still without chaps!!!! Had to go on a long ride with no chaps and I have another ride this weekend and tonight!!!!!!!!!!!! They didn't even know that it was shipped to the city that I told them.
