The owner is a real piece of work. Screamed at us when we walked in as if we were thieving her to either place our purses in her plastic bin at the front of the store or go put it in our car. My purse isn't going anywhere but my shoulder I can guarantee you that, Overpriced by 3 times!! $14.99 for a headband you can get on amazon for $3.99. They open when they want to regardless of listed business hours and don't you dare say anything cuz the owner will go bat shit crazy on you. Very weird experience. Rude (assume) staff/owner. Absolutely no personality. Opened store 35 minutes late and didn't bother to apologize. I would have left long before but stayed for my daughter. They told us we had to put our purses in their "bin up front", like I would leave my stuff laying around for them to rummage through (especially considering how unprofessional they were). Save your time and spend your money elsewhere. but if you do try it out make sure you go at 12 and not 11 when they are posted to open. read more

I have been in this store a few times. Chandra the owner has always been helpful. The last time I was in there with a friend she was unpacking these beautiful Aladdin lamps so we bought 2 of them. I also got a beautiful leather journal and handmade box. She has such beautiful things and makes your experience in her store a welcome one....now I have heard of the stores new policy and I think it's great! For those who don't agree with it that's your choice not to shop there, I will continue to support local business. So I was in this store on my Birthday and bought a sun dress ( one size fits all) Was NEVER TOLD NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. Had I been told I would have tried it on. But knowing I only live up the street I figured I could exchange it if it wasn't right. Just got back from store where i was told they couldn't do anything to resolve the problem. I will never shop in there again and i will see that no one I know shops in there. They give small businesses a bad name. And FYI I brought dress back on a hanger in a garment bag. Tags on it , receipt stapled to tags. I did this to protect dress. They had only provided a grocery type bag when I bought it. People wonder why small businesses fail...BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I did not ask for cash back. I asked for store credit or exchange. Basically they SUCK.!! read more

My original post was removed from google reviews I assume by the owner, but here it is again along with the response from the owner- "Unfortunately found out too late that "local and fair trade items" seem to mean purchased and resold from Shein... Cute stuff, but part of the appeal was the that is was quality clothing and accessories. Some of the pictures in their listings are literally the stock images from Shein. Just feels dishonest. Save your money and just order it from Shein yourself." The reply- " Hi, at Hipsy gypsy, We order items for the shop from Vendors wholesale Fair trade and some through Name brand vendors like Rustydusty, PeachLove, Katmandu, Almost Famous, Leto, Liquid Blue, Free People etc.., Just like every other retail business does. This is how "retail works" I'm sure if you dig anywhere you will be able to find the same designers I carry offered by other retailers. If you would like to order from shien and get a cheaper quality knock off from China, you go right ahead.
