Jamies Bar - Suffolk Lane
Booked a lunch reservation for 6 people.
Menu was mainly sandwiches, not much choice.
I ordered Roast Beef and horseradish on granary loaf.
Sandwich I received was beef on toasted, brown bread. I asked for a non- toasted Roast Beef and Horseradish sandwich on Granary - as described on menu. The second sandwich I received was a thin slice of salt beef on brown bread.
I returned the sandwich saying it was not roast beef - it looked exactly the same as my friend salt beef sandwich and when I tasted it, it was salty!! The chef confirmed it was 'beef'. I returned the 2nd sandwich and said I didn't want it. I was then offered menu again to make a new choice - although my friends had almost finished their lunch.
I ordered a Cheese and 'Slaw' sandwich with pickles and other filling - on granary bread.
It arrived warm (not sure why) and thin sliced brown bread. It also had 2 finger imprints in the bread where the staff had obviously poked the bread!! I ate the sandwich, because by this time I had nearly used up my lunch hour and wouldn't have had time to get anything else.
Was disappointed to still see my sandwich on the bill - I would have thought, as a gesture of goodwill, they would have removed it.
Will not be going back and will strongly advise my colleagues not to go there. read more
