Never thought that a shot of tequila, brown sauce and a cocktail sausage would ever be put in this sort if combination, but scarily it works. It was just the place to get us ready for the night ahead. We would have loved to stay longer but had to get to another gig. Luckily it was only round the corner from the O2 so we had plenty of time to grab an El Bandito Hot Dawg and a few shots to send us on our way. Definitely going back when we can stay a bit longer.

As Craig M mentioned, squirrelled away off Brixton Hill is this gig venue that shows great music most nights of the week. They have a BBQ area outside and even though I didn't get to try it on that night, I bet their beer garden is ace in summer. Each one has been a memorable occassion. The summer weekend barbeques are a fantastic way of whiling away sunny days whilst listening to interesting artists. It's not the most attractive venue you've seen, and the pillar near the stage does obscure the view for people quite near the front, but these little things are part of the charm. The bar prices are fairly reasonable, and the odd combination of locals watching the football in one corner and some rising indie superstars playing in another is an enjoyable one.

The place is pretty much a dive, with an overabundance of random knick-knacks, signs, and what-not. Funky, funny, eclectic - you get it. But don't let that mislead your impression - it's a serious cocktail bar. They've got a wide range of original concoctions to choose from, and both the presentation and tastiness of our selections were excellent. The bartenders are friendly, and the music that night was essentially a playlist of one- and two-hit wonders from the 80's (again, right in our wheelhouse!). Totally fun, and a great way to start off our night! I wholeheartedly recommend that you schedule a meeting with the Mayor soon!
